@delrod22743 dude I have to say I'm not a traditional PRS guy but I love the Mira. It's versatile and really light. Also you really get used to the easy access to the high frets. I'm considering a Sarla..gun metal color!
what settings would i use to sound close to a mesa boogie sort of like the band all time low exact same set up i have a prs mira and im getting the egnater tweaker could you help me out please :)
@chazatkinz1,,Ah yes. I am actually producing a band that liks that band very much. I would track 2 rhythm parts. The first track a little cleaner and brighter with the amp breaking up and a tube screamer type pedal on the AC Clean side. Then double the track with the amp set to British Hot Mode, dirtier and darker almost spongy (a la dual rec). This should get you close. Just watch the gain. A little goes a long way.
@chazatkinz1...one more thing. I would use the split coil side of the Mira on the first track and turn the gain up on the pedal a bit. The 2nd track use the humbuggie side of the guitar and let it rip.
Anyone know how similar this is to the Rebel 30 head? I just sold one as i was looking for something in the 15-20w range and was considering a Tweaker mini stack.
@jammers5 ..Hey man. The Tweaker's clean sounds in my opinion seem to be better than the Rebel series (I own a Rebel 20). Also the dirty tones are very close to the Rebel's but may not be as gainy as the Rebel 30 (I know Bruce Egnater has said that they gave the 30 a little bit more gain than the 20). I prefer the Tweaker. It's just sounds good. Plain and simple. You will be giving up channel switching. This is not an issue for me since I mainly use pedal boards with the Tweaker.
@MrBombhouserec Thanks great info. Since posting this question, they buyer of my Rebel 30 head called and asked if I wanted to buy it back. He said he couldn't coax the same tones as he could at my house (ummm....maybe it's the cabinet lol!) At any rate I jumped at getting it back as I was having a serious case of seller's remorse. I'm getting it back tomorrow.
@MrBombhouserec Oh, I won't be letting this one out of my sight ever again! The buyer was surprised I was so anxious to get it back! She's home now and happy lol!
@KLMguitars ..wow! That's a hard one. For my playing..I prefer cleaner amps and pedals or the line 6 m13...so in my opinion I lean towards the Tweaker. It seems a little more diverse tone wise...also I like the speaker with it better than the Rebels .But..the Rebel seems to get have more gain and has a gorgeous rock tone..in the studio we use the rebel as much as the Tweaker...
thanks man, now I'm really wanting one. your vid's were great I sat there and listened through each one bout 3 times each. Thanks for the quick response.
I just played this amp at guitar center today and fell in love with it. My only concern is does the amp have enough guts to hold it's own in a live setting. I play in church and currently play through a Peavey Valve King 2x12, but it hardly gets turned past 10 o'clock. What do you think?
@KLMguitars ..hey man...I use the amp at church quite a bit and have heard rave reviews from the tech staff. I normally just take my cab and hide it backstage ( it's mic'd ) and keep the head up front where I can adjust setting for sound check. I have used it with a 2/12 in a much louder situation and it did great. I do believe the amp can handle what you are asking it to do....if not you have 30 days...like an iphone4..lol
@controlo33 ..no doubt the LP is a special guitar for sure...The Mira reminds me of a SG and a LP jr put together. It has great tones in its own right...I do use it a lot in my studio for a "change up" tone and it always brings a smile to my face when we go to mix time...however a good Les Paul is priceless....in my opinion..
@MrBombhouserec what's weird is that i prefer a jr. or any p-90 guitar over any les paul. i'm not a big les paul fan at all but the tones you're getting out of that set up are undeniable. i'm a big p-90 and telecaster fan. i think i'm going to order this amp pretty soon and give it a run. i have the vox ac4 right now and it sounds really good with a tele but by the time you're at overdrive levels, it's too loud for the bedroom and not loud enough for a gig.
If you sell the ac15 you should check out an jet city pico valve and blackstar amps like the studio 20h. The Egnater isn't very tight and punchy and if you want a different sound those amps would do it. Keep Rocking! -PK
@DJBkrabi..hey man...just did the demo of the amp tones...did not think about using the effects with it....there are a ton of M13 videos on here...figured we can here the amp "as is"...:)
@MrBombhouserec Ya you, the amp and that guitar made a good combination.Medium crunch, harmonically rich I could get a sense of "texture". Bold setting really enhanced it.Talk was minimal but useful.Thank-you for the "dry" demo!
Nice video. Thanks!

Hey man, nice demo! Do you think the Mira would be able to handle the more progressive and alternative rock tones? Lead and rhythm?
Maybe I should just wait a bit longer and save for a Custom 24?

@mariotyler13 Check out Opeth. They play PRS

Would this amp go louder than an acoustic drum kit? Playing metal, btw.

Finally! It's nice to hear an amp demo focused on rhythm playing.

i think the ac definitely pulls the most gain out of all the three amp models. great amp by far for the price

@MrBombhouserec i love PRS's (:
i have an sg so i love being able to reach the higher frets, and it's extremely light. would you say the two are similar?
delrod22743 1 year ago
@delrod22743 ..tonally the Mira is a totally different guitar. It my opinion it's better. I had a SG for a while. I prefer the Mira.

i'm very glad you said that. i prefer the PRS as well, but i was curious about your opinion.

Which is best for low volume distortion the Tweaker or the Rebel? The distortion on this Tweaker sounds awesome even through a camcorder mic.

@ChorltonM21
I think both amps do low volume distortion equally well.
