we rent and at times lease a beautiful beachfront home i punta banda,it is our dream spot that we love so much my family and i,but the land their in punta namda would never be ours,we would always have the risk of the government kicking us out, were mexican,it dont matter what race how much money, the goverment just wants money and will make their own rules and do what they want, never will we actually buy property because of the risk
I lived in Rosarito 3 yrs & loved it., As seen in the vid the buyers of houses had been scammed by the sellers. They never really owned the houses was what I knew as I lived there at the time of the "evictions." I did have a bad motor accident whilst there, insurance covered it & the locals took care of my injuries like family. Lovely people there and I loved it. When in Mex you must carefully follow their laws. The heavy influx of non locals when Fox opened the studios ruined the place for me.

Rosarito Beach, Baja, and Mainland Mexico. Never buy Real Estate in Mexico. Keep your hard earned dollars in the US. Do not be fooled! Imagine how bad things are in the US and compare that to Mexico! Nice place to visit but even that has a significant risk. Remember if a life threatening incident happens in Mexico you are on your own. If you are involved in an horrible car accident the other party will hit and run unless it is your fault.
lol that was my dad. but hes right. they love to trick ya out of your money. and WE'RE mexican, so they shouldn't have anything against us either. it just goes to show that its not the best place. however i love going there to visit. its beautiful.
We grew up down there... my parents owned a small store, duplex, and about 75 acres in the hills abobe the Pacific. The government took everything back a few years ago!In short, I won't invest a dime in Baja.
be careful when you buy land in mexico, the correct way for an alien is to buy it using a trust with a mexican bank if the lot is on the coast, inland you can purchase the traditional way, and you can use the land for only 99 years or something like that... Mexico is nice to live, if you get mexican citizenship (you can have dual citizenship)you can buy land with no problem
Unfortunately for your parents, the laws regarding fidecomiso/trusts simply did not exist. Your parents were not protected by laws now in existance, and the operative part of your statement is "they THOUGHT the land was theirs...."
I love coming here on breaks but specially on spring break and its true it has changed a lot! Just be careful and enjoy ! :)

A lot of truth in this report oly that Rosarito is located BEFORE Fox Studios and the Costco Images are from Tijuana.
I Hope Rosarito goes back to be the safe quiet place I grew in

My parent's lost 75 hectacres just south of Rosarito.
They thought the land was theirs since the late 1950'.
BEWARE.. the Mexican government can at any time decide to retake their lands. YOURS OR NOT !
