if you leave your hair in the braids for a week or more the crinkles will be deeper and last longer. I tend to do this during the winter as I try to keep my locks styled in between hair washings.

no, i don't rebraid. i just wrap at night to keep my hair from getting frizzy. it's also helped the appearance of my roots and protect my crimps. do you have a relaxer? if so, you have to cut your hair. unless you just want to get dread extensions which is an option if that's what you're into. best of luck.

no, I've been natural for about 9 months now so most of the perm is out, and I didn't relax my hair that often to begin with (once every 6 months or so)...I'm part Dominican too so my roots are naturally curly and tends to frizz a lot

So would I still have to cut?, plus my hair is a little past my shoulderblades

if your hair is natural you won't have to cut it. but since you're part dominican, your hair will prob take a bit longer to lock up. there are a lot of different methods to start the process, you just have to choose the one that's right for you. but they all require a level of patience.

Sadly, I am such a bad black girl. I never learned how to braid hair on the stoop so I have a loctician that I go to every 7 weeks or so. I do the braid style to get my crinkles but they don't look neat or pretty enough to just wear on their own. If I want the crimp to stay, I usually leave it in for two days which usually requires me to stay in the house or put on a head wrap. :) You make great procedural vids.
