  • who was the girl at 2:09 and was she paralyzed? The way her arm looks when she was on the stretcher makes it look like she was

  • I'm so sad...

  • didn't let that stop me from pursuing a career. I still work as a performer, more acrobatics and aerial now but the risk is still there. I wish the artistry took over gymnastics again. I wish all children in the world who wants to try gymnastics get a chance to do so. It is a love you never will grow out of. I think the music was pretty awesome. I wish no one would have to injure themselves doing what they love.

  • I didn't know Caquatto and Izbasa were both injured, what happened? "Something really has to change..." what do you suggest should change? The only thing I can think of that is forcing gymnasts to take more and more risk is the COP upgrades. When technique took over from artistry the risk factor went up as well. Doesn't matter how well prepared you are or how good your technique is, injuries do happen. Some you see coming, some just happen. I snapped my ACL in ballet rehearsals years ago but I..

  • @tedsler I am mostly mean injuries that could have been prevented. Like Bross's knee. Everyone said she should'nt be doing the DTY after seeing her at PT - she did it and got injured. I remember in 2010 many people inkluding myself were commenting on Aliya's bad form on her Amanar and that she was going to injure her knww. And just a year later she tore her ACL. Like you said: With this code difficulty gets rewarded more than execution - that is deffinatley somthing that should change.

  • @SuperGymmie Honestly I don't think Bross' injury was that surprising. If you look at the way her legs are shaped, she is a bit knock-kneed and that makes it so much more important to not hit the floor while twisting because the weight is going down on the inside of the knees/legs already. I feel so sorry for them all who injure themselves but it is something everyone is aware of. Sometimes it isn't about strength/technique, it is just wrong place and wrong time. I hope recovery is quick!

  • Does anyone know who the poor girl was at 1:55. I saw that and looked at my 3 yr old and said gymnastics is out of the question

  • @mrchaos1276 It's Jessica Gil Ortiz at the 2009 worlds

  • I'm 11 years old and I dance ballet. I really want to start gymnastics, and doing it without trying to be an elite would be fine, but I really want to try for that. I know it sounds crazy, but I was wondering if it would be possible? Ballet might help, and I'm naturally pretty strong. I can hang on a bar hang for over a minute, do 50 sit ups in a minute, and climb a climbing rope in gym with ease, so does that seem possible? Thanks if you answer.

  • i hate watching these videos and knowing at some point in every clip a gymnast is going to get hurt : ((

  • where did you get the videos from

  • Get well soon, you girls inspire us all... or maybe not all, but some of us inmensely

  • I liked the music

  • i love gymnastics really much, but it is one of the most dangerous sports.

  • @Loveringe I had more injuries from gymnastics than I have from horses. Makes you think.

  • Who's at 3:52?

  • @JulietSniper Marie Fjordhom from USA

  • omg that is so sad that must of hurt to jeses make them get get better soon

  • 2:07 that is the hand of a gymnast.

  • This is the very sad side of this sport. But unfortunatly, serious or even career-ending injuries can happen in any sport :(

Little Chinese junior gymnast Zhuang Jinlin would really fit in here, too. Her fall from UB at 2011 Chinese Nationals was really nasty and made me feel pain just from looking...

  • oh my goodness, this absolutely broke my heart, I cried!

  • @ArxVirtus Whatever makes you happy....

  • this made me cry :'(

  • 1:55 omg :(((

  • i hate how most try to look like it didnt hurt or like 3:50 she tryed again ><

  • @MapleCandyCookies You have to make it seem like it didn't hurt and keep going til you can't or til the very end

  • why the crappy music? and why does it have to be so loud?

  • @ArxVirtus If you dont like it dont watch it. If the music is too loud for you turn it down. 114 people didnt have a problem with it.

  • 3:50 D:

  • i dont know how they get on with it im level 10 and i never fell anything like that

  • OMG!!!!! :O

  • I absolutely love Rebecca Bross. I'm most likely her biggest fan. And seeing and hearing her cries completely shatter my heart. It's hard seeing her hurt but I'm so happy she's coming back!

  • who's the gymnast at 1:56 sec?

  • holy fuck that one at 2 minutes is terrible.

  • Ouch ! That looks like it really hurt

  • Can they stop critisizing Rebecca and feel bad 4 her

  • That crack on Bosses landing- is that added or was that the sound of her actual injury?

  • @GardiniaBloom that was the injury :(

  • @SuperGymmie Ochies. Thanks for telling me.

  • @SuperGymmie It's her landing and then her knee hitting the ground. Anyways, if that was the case she wouldn't have started training in November.

  • @SuperGymmie I think it was just the landing, you don't actually hear her kneecap dislocating. You hear the some sound with other vaulters when they land just fine.

  • @1bravenewworld if she tore her ACL, which im pretty sure she did, a big chunk of that noise would have been the ligament tearing or "popping"

its possibly one of the worst noises you can ever hear or feel

thats basically how they know you've torn your ACL, if you hear it pop.

  • Couldn't finish watching it.:(

  • Wow I cried the whole time

  • very sad :(

  • Hearing Rebecca cry absolutely broke my heart </3 I've been there. My injuries took me out of gymnastics forever.

  • @ThePianist2396 i feel your pain :(

i had an ACL and meniscuc injury that i never recovered from.

i was only a few months away from worlds in cheerleading and never got to go :(

    injuries definitely suck

  • i feel really sad watching this! no one deserves to get injurd i hope they get better soon!!

  • When Rebecca cries out after she injures her knee - augh, that just makes me tear up. Imagine being her poor parents watching that.

  • im not trying to get into an arguement but why do people do this if theres a chance they cold get really hurt like this.

  • @KissingBieber One is more likely to get hurt driving one's car to work. Why do that if there is a chance of injury? eh? The point is that we do things for a variety of reasons, and sometimes the payoff is worth the risk.

  • Could i use this song and this idea:P i wan't to make a video like this and this is the song that fits it best.

  • @13shifter Are you going to make the same montage with improvements? :D sure you can

  • @SuperGymmie No its like a gymanstics falls montage but well.... its hard to explain. But i liked this song because it was quiet and powerful

  • God that was intense! I seriously almost cried on each one. I know how that feels + the humiliation that comes with the pain (which is more painful). x/

  • this is to sad

  • @nchllltmr glad shes competing again!!! and i was wondering why she wasnt at worlds!!! :0

  • where's jessica gil ortiz?

  • @gymboy123ful What do you mean where is she?? She is at 1:57 if you mean the location it was 2009 worlds floor finals.

  • @SuperGymmie no you've put alll the names in order bus i havent seen jessica gil ortiz :S,, not to be mean or something .. its just i havent seen her name between all those names :$

  • @SuperGymmie no thats not what i mean.. i havent seen jessica gil ortiz between all those names ..? so maybe i though you forgot to put her name between al those names:$

  • @SuperGymmie no you've forgot to put jerrica's name between all those names! not to make a porb of it.. i just havent seen her name ...:D

  • @gymboy123ful Because she didnt have a serious injury. She returned to training a couple of days after floor finals. The names at the end were gymnasts who recently got injured and are recovering at the moment. Jessica happened in 2009

  • @FOTR9191 She flew back and hit the low bar..

  • whos the girl at 4.33 and what happened to her?

  • That was sad... :(

  • Sandra Izbasa nad Mackenzie Caquatto?? When?

  • injuries are a part of every sport.. especially gymnastics. you cant be a professional athlete if you dont fully understand the risks of what you do. yes. its sad that they get hurt, but they know that to reach their dreams they have to risk it all. i find nothing wrong with the new code. i lik it better now that they are allowed to do bigger, riskier skills.

  • what happened to mackenzie?? didnt no she ws hurt?!

  • @gymlover612 In a selection camp, she injured her knees (I think) doing her beam dismount.

  • @GymnasticsFan1144 oh nooo!!!!!!!!! hope she has a speeedy recovery!

  • @gymlover612 i believe shes already better and competing back at florida. i figured there had to be a reason she wasnt on the worlds team so i looked it up and it said she had injured it on her beam dismount but i guess it wasnt broken or torn because she back :0

  • @gymlover612 Actually her ankles sorry

  • I fell off beam with my foot upside down... I did that 5 weeks ago and I am still in a boot... :(((

  • Can you make a video with the song Paradise by Coldplay. I just think it would be a really interesting song to use.

  • whose the girl who hits her heads on a tumbling pass?

  • @katiehroxxx Jessica Gil Ortiz from Colombia..she was fine though :)

  • The clip of Rebecca Bross crying. :( :( :( it tore my heart

  • No matter how many times I see Becca fall...every time, I always begin to cry. She is so tough, and to see her screaming out in pain. I had seeing gymnasts get hurt, and their dreams crashing down.

I really wish that injuries unfortently weren't a part of this sport, and that something can change to protect these amazing and beautiful gymnasts from getting hurt and going through such a horrific pain and tragedy.

  • Mckenzie and Sandra too?! I knew about the rest but whats happened to them? :-/

  • @cwgcGymnast Macko hurt both ankles doing a dismount off beam at the first world's selection camp. Last week she finally was given the all clear to stop using crutches.Sandra hurt her foot. I'm not sure how she did it or how bad it is.

  • @angelmonkey1228 - oh righttt, thankyou for gettign back to me!

  • @angelmonkey1228 Sandra Izbasa was suffering pains in her foot from an injury that she has in the past (Not entirely sure which one). So Romania decided to keep her from worlds so she is healthy for next year.

  • whose the girl at 1:54?

  • ... And Get well soon Mariya Livchikova !

What a great montage of this beautiful but so dangerous sport..

  • Goddd Jade's landing on vauly really makes me wince :S

    Gorgeous montage though :)

  • So many of your videos that seriously give me the shivers just from watching them. You are amazing and please keep them coming :)

  • So true. Welcome back.

  • Wow! Great video! And I agree soo many gymnasts this year got or are injured Musty, Izbasa, Sacramone, Bross, Caquatto, Chelaru, Komova, Nabieva, Memmel, Barbosa, Livichikova, Fei, Li, Ferrai, Bulimar, etc. Code of Points needs to change!

  • I feel so sorry for those gymnasts :(

  • Mind blowing montage, thank you for creating it. Making me so sad for all these gymnasts. Aliya please make a come back and everybody else!

  • I have tears in my eyes, it is just so sad, but a beautiful montage!! <3

  • 1:53...who was that and what happened to her?

  • @Katelinanator

    sorry...1:55

  • @Katelinanator That's Jessica Gil Ortiz of Colombia, she was okay a few hours later

  • Lovely video!! I agree and do you know where I could downlaod this editor because jusging on your videos, it must be incredible:) thanks

  • Sigh. Well, this is depressing! The amount of athletes who have gone down in the past year is literally mind-boggling. :(

  • How can you stand to watch this. I freaked and had to turn away every few minutes. Espesialy the first one. Great message though!!!

  • That clip of Jade makes me cringe so badly, i cant stand watching people roll their ankles! Beautiful montage! Although imo you could have focused just on injuries in this new code where girls seem to be getting injured more often than before! Its still amazing though :)

  • @gymnastdory I wanted to but the song was too long :)

  • @gymnastdory It seems like a BAD design on the specifications on the landing pad, that do not match the amount of energy to be absorbed with the amounts of forces developed at the landing by the gymnasts, it should be a spring board with the right amount of lbs/sq in springs combined with the soft padding absorption

Somebody didn't do their job and its resulting of lots of injuries to the gymnasts performing to this new code level mentioned.

This should be INVESTIGATED and punished

  • @RDELAPLAZA That is so right... It isn't the girls who are not good enough, it is the people who set up their equipment who don't care if they get hurt or not. If EVERY SINGLE ATHLETE who makes a certain jump destroys their knees and ankles then it is not the athlete, it is everyone else not doing their job.

  • @gymnastdory If many different gymnasts didn't get injured during hundred of times practicing in many different places and

THEN got injured at this specific place, it should be something wrong with this equipment. that should be investigated.
