  • This song would be better if the singer had an English accent.

  • @Qazic12 only the singer is maynard so if you do not regard this as perfect their is no hope for your soul as maynards voice is self contained and perfect as is.

  • a live with love,,,,,, im thinking about it jijiji

  • Fuck all capitalist pigs!

  • Great cover, great video, great band !!!

  • The original: an call for hope for a better future.

This: a lamentation for the modern world, and the failure of the original's dream.

  • watch?v=jcDKE_qLCk8 (this my song..it's insturmental...) Thank you for listening..greeting for Turkey..

  • music = money = war :p

  • @no1nos91

    in theory:

Music = Vibes = Hertz = a vibration from one point on a scale to another point on the same scale, Getting the deffinition as (ex. 400-430 vibes) = A note (= The most beutifull thing man EVER made)

    Stupid hippie...

Money = Valuta = human defined value traded for survival, fun or power...

War = in most situations... actually... now ill sounds like a hippie, You got to make evil.. To make good... All those wars back in time brougth you and me to the place we are in, Today

  • The intro starts with tragical note of piano in tragical slow rhythm of unstoppable approach of death to all of us. This is not warning for humans, this is our requiem we take in our graves.

  • were doing this for our music gcse. but were doing the origional...i keep singing the backing vocals for this version and geting told of.

this songs amazing, and a perfect circle make it even more emotional and powerfull than lennon ever did. dont care if i get thumb down for this.

i hate people covering songs, but this was amazing. APC <3!

  • money=war

    religion=war

  • There are 326 idiots! Thumbs Down for them!

  • Anyone notice that in the bottom scroll they misspell "Missiles"? [Missles]

  • Maynard is GOD

  • best regards for sober ones from poland.

  • ok best damn vid i ever see

  • to that guy that commented my previous comment, what you are saying is that people have to have a central power figure? im just trying to make sense of what you said. I dont believe that, if we all opened our eyes and fueled our self motives on the better for the world rather than the money we make up in our current 'fantasy world' then things would be better.

  • Hey I'd appreciate if some tool, isis, mastodon fans could ckeck our band and tell us what you think!

  • I cant stand eating contests. We have people that are starving like this video shows, an yet we have people that eat for sport.

  • Ruined it.

  • The message of hope and inspiration from the original version was successfully drained from this song. I do not mean this in a bad way, only that back in the 60's people believed that the world's problems could be easily solved by working and coexisting together. The world we now live in has become a jaded and sardonic place desperately seeking hope from the fantasy that Lennon fathomed. I believe that APC interpreted this song to mimic that fact and to possibly enlighten us enough to have hope.

  • HOLY CRAP! I HAVE THE SECOND TOP RATED COMMENT ON A VIDEO WITH 2.5 MILLION VIEWS AND 7000 COMMENTS!

  • Hey I'd appreciate if some tool, isis, mastodon fans could ckeck our band and tell us what you think!

  • god i hate war

  • those dolls used in this video creeped me out

  • nice pink floyd cover

  • @toxicclocktv LMAO WHAT?!

  • @toxicclocktv John lennon not Pink Floyd

  • @toxicclocktv WTF??? lol john lennon.. you know?? beatles' singer? :P

  • @toxicclocktv u high son?

  • ja se kockam ti se kockas...mi se kockamo

  • 322 hp materialistas de mierda que imaginan un mejor mundo

  • is it so hard to imagine? is it so hard to get along? apparently, yes.

    p.s

    i like Lennon's version better ;)

  • 322 people can not imagine peace

  • just listened to this on Jimmy Kimmel and damn they are good

  • APC will perform on Jimmy kimmel weds oct, 27- tomorrow; check your local listings. You're welcome.

  • imagine if you just smoked and listened to this song and stopped being bitches

  • communism anti religion anti national in another words POP

  • This is a very very good version of this song.

it fits perfectly with our gloomy times.

  • Maynard is amazing.

  • No need for greed or hunger 3:16 LOL :P

  • @NaziOmega what's so funny? Hunger being a byproduct of greed, which is contrived.. go kill yourself

  • @complex175 no one ask u for ur stupid opinions , so keep it for urself cock sucker

  • I honestly hope we self-destruct as a society. Our greediness has destroyed the world too much, its time we learn to be happy with the simple things in life and use our minds in constructive ways.

  • 0:34 obama 's only sky!!!!!!!!:P :P

  • @arvagio How's that even funny?. fuck Obama and fuck your stupid sky joke.

  • @complex175 You seem pretty serious about being serious. ;)

  • Wow this is an amazing cover...

  • When A Perfect Circle sing this sing its way more powerful and touching!

  • Maynard James Keenan. What a freakin' man, chillin it wit teh Caduceus today. Yesah. Much love.

  • music god

    video shit

  • I think that this song is so much more meaningful when played by APC. More meaningful than any of us could attempt to comprehend.

  • Hippies.

  • I think this IS the more sarcastic version of Lennon's. While Lennon's song prosed a hopeful, happy message, this song takes it and turns it around as if saying,

"As nice as the idea is, it can't happen. And it won't happen."

  • I hate our world

  • Maynard James Keenan, man.

    he knows whats up.

  • i would have never guessed that someone could warp this song. Although it does sound interesting like this.

  • I think the original version of Imagine was a hopeful message, while the APC version is commenting on how far away we are from what's described in the song. In short, APC's saying it's rather hopeless.

  • @kmthedrummer Yes...you are right....I didn't like this version. Remakes are cool if you do them right, but this totally ruined it for me. Covering somebody as legendary as Lennon takes balls.....big ones....you better do it right......I know he'd turn in his grave if he heard this version....just saying......the song is about hope...........not negativitiy.....

  • @lcsoto1973 funny you should mention that. Lennon himself commented on the lyrics, saying the song was "anti-religious, anti-nationalistic, anti-conventional, anti-capitalistic, but because it's sugar-coated, it's accepted." Whether or not that's positive is absolutely up to interpretation, but I think A Perfect Circle's cover is too intentionally sarcastic to be misinterpreting the message. To me it says "hey, remember that song of hope and peace? What's up? Why haven't we acted enough on it?"

  • @lcsoto1973 what hope is there to have...

  • @lcsoto1973 if you dont focus on how bad the negativity is whats going to influence you to be positive?

  • @kmthedrummer Are you saying that APC's version is meant to be sarcastic? I think APC is saying the same thing John Lennon was saying "Literally" That the world could be a better place then it is now. You think it didn't seem hopeless in the 70's when John Lennon wrote the song? BTW don't be offended i'm not taking a shot at you.

  • @kmthedrummer not agree...APC show the point we are arrived...this is how i see this

  • @kmthedrummer that's an excellent way of describing it man

  • @kmthedrummer I don't think Maynard's saying it's hopeless - just SO MUCH more critically DIRE that we get it right BEFORE IT"S TOO LATE

  • @TheDeadlyDelilah

I agree with your saying the most from what I've read.

  • "I hope some day you can join us." Just lock us all into systems and leave the world behind. None of us survive in the end. I just don't want to die for love of anything. I'd die for stem cell research.

  • 2:11 Read the scrolling txt at bottom of video lmao.

  • @karloney LMFAO XDDDD

  • i love APC, but this is a terrible cover.

  • @powerofktulu that is you're personal opinion, but mine is that it is a wonderful cover, a cover does not need to be like the original.. a cover is alot better when a band takes a song and changes it a little to their sound and i believe apc did an amazing job at doing so. but like i said, your personal opinion and i got mine :P lol

  • I have to say that TOOL, APC, and Puscifer are the perfect trifecta of expressionism. Maynard has been able to demonstrate what he believes without clashing styles. Each band has its own messages. Each band getting more and more esoteric and each one evolving itself. I think Maynard just got sick of politics and the emotion of APC.Even though it was my fav.He is definitely getting more and more fed up with his fans and society and general for sure. He's tried to dumb it down as much as possible.

  • human life has the potential to be the most positive influence within the planet and ultimately a valued part of the universe. division has created mixed emotions within ourselves as a species and war and religion are biproducts of the mass greed for power. even if all religions bear some truth, they are mostly closed minded to their own beliefs and methods. if we all took the time to learn each other, we could better understand each other and better connect as life forms.

  • @Reno97 amen

  • @Reno97 -- If we ourselves cannot stand as a solution, if we ourselves cannot see with unclouded clarity what must be done to solve this... then we ourselves are not in fact a solution.

  • @RobertW1809 its the attitude of thinking we cant be a solution that makes us not a solution just as bad as the rest of the reasons.

  • @Reno97 Human nature will always prevail even if people try to come together. There will always be individuals who think differently even with learned ideals of others. It is virtually impossible for this kind of world or anything close to it to occur. The type of utopian society in the song tries to break down all these barriers but if people all form as one there still needs to be things established how to proceed which cannot happen unless there is a central power/figure.

  • @Gatorsrok You may be right. I hope dearly you're not. Just make damn sure you are not one of the hopeless standing in the way of genuine progress if it ever gains any true momentum; you sound overly cynical, not stupid. Be the change......

  • @Reno97 look at any aspect of modern day human existence...the problems all boil down to one thing!,....PISS POOR MANAGEMENT NUFF SED!

  • @Reno97 Let alone all the rest of the life forms on this planet and the planet itself

  • @Reno97 Shut up

  • @Reno97 Very Nice

  • @Reno97

Taking the time to know eachother

You sound like a fucking hippie :p

humans will NEVER get over the problems with greed, Power, having to deal with the fact that we will allways have to make progress. As of to religion..... Religion..... Religion is a truely evil element! People getting taugth (brain washed incl. ->) Disciplined, Mass-hypnotized, their WHOLE life, Just to find purpose in life, hope, Happiness, organization. Or simply just to fit in, Ex. In theyr own family Or society.

  • That damn ticker at the bottom of the screen is pissing me off! It's distracting me!!!

  • Imagine a perfect circle.

  • I like the irony being created in this video... Sad but true...

  • John would be proud......... god bless Reverend Maynard.

  • @MrCanucklhead Exactly what I said when I shared it on FB-John would be proud. :o)

  • " intelligence is over-rated " , bacterias are around for millionsof years , and we , that claim to be so much of intelligent , invented the atomic bomb, i guess we arent intelligent enough to not use them.

  • at 3.05 it becomes too marxist (communist) but its still a cool song

  • fucking amazing cover. Lennon would be proud.

  • Magistral, y la pura verdad

  • WWIII is going 2b my cumming out party,look 4 the #CA3-34ZM-N in 2015 & you'll find out what's going down!!!

  • better than lennon

  • @ deflorieren, not always, methinks..

we're being birthed from the planet and we need to cut the umbilical to our mother before we both die imo. its a process unfolding..were not running it, that much is certain.. We weren't always this way either.. and we won't always be this way.

  • this song almost perfectly describes anarchy lol

  • better than John`s original

  • Wrath is justice

    Greed is motive

    Sloth is convenience

    Pride is accomplishment

    Lust is love

    Envy is drive

    Gluttony is content

The deadly sins are so much a part of life.

  • @StoopidGinger The only sin is you won't shut up!!!!!

  • @imrightandwrong

oh lets not get immature or anything. I post a response when i receive a response.

  • i can so feel the led zeppelin influence in this song! it's one of the best covers, and one of the most touching music videos i've ever seen. well done APC

  • @Meatlooaf u mean u can feel the riff rip off???

may i suggest u to listen to kashmir? =P

  • Remember this as a kid, never really payed attension to the words and didnt really care for John Lennin or the Beatles. This is just another happy hopey dreamy song about a world that can never exist though Obama is trying to redistribute and destroy us.

  • @TheDuckseason Wow another one who listens to fox news congrats on being a lamb.

  • i came to a video about peace and the comments are all hateful towards others, stuff no one would ever say to another's face. there's no such thing as human nature, we are not naturaly greedy. money is not natural! this is just what we are taught. everyone CAN change. stop spreading your hate. spread your love. maybe you can't change the world but you can change yourself. please do good - peace :)

p.s. educate urself - search BILDERBERG - not the website tho, it's fake...

  • Sad video, Epic song.

  • Imagine no more people...

  • ONE GOD. and that is the HUMAN GOD. Gods dont go by RELIGIONS O RACE

  • Musicians lack the cognitive capacity for determining world policy; the creative process and the art of governing are two drastically different ideas. Musicians can make a difference, and can inspire people towards change.

In lieu of going on some sophistic rant about human nature, suffice it to say John Lennon was an idol, but we'd be screwed if he ever ran a country. If a politician became a big fan of music theory it wouldn't give them the finger strength to play a bar chord.

  • @InverseAgonist

Oh right, musicians can't be politicians, but actors can do a better job? Are you telling me there isn't a musician out there that could rival Reagan and ARNOLD in governing? Rofl. Your "theory" is as half baked as the pot-brownie breakfast it was based upon. You don't think there are musicians out there who are well educated in political sciences and are up to date on the political scene? You're basically saying "if you're good at one thing, you'll suck at another." LMAO.

  • @Archronos1

Not at all; I think you misunderstand. It's conceivable that a musician might be competent at politics, but typically when musicians come out and make political statements they are neither practical nor even feasible, but instead idealistic.

Just to clarify, I assume by your rebuttal you think Lennon *would* have been a competent political leader? Would he would be able to achieve the things described in this song given political power?

also, for the record, I don't use drugs.

  • @InverseAgonist

Idealism can never convert into realism. The simple reason being that humans are not ideal, and are unpredictable. Thus putting them all to live under a single regime and saying they would all be happy is a huge understatement. Also, i was referring to musicians as a general group, not just Lennon.

Go watch any election speech, i dare you. If those aren't idealistic promises, then i don't know what are. All i'm saying is you shouldn't discriminate and limit peoples abilities.

  • @Archronos1

I think you misunderstood my point, Reread what I posted. Let me elucidate: when I say "musicians lack the cognitive capacity... etc" I meant that prototypically, they have developed a skill set that is utterly askew to political astuteness; yet they will leverage their fame for reductionist polemic.

The comment applies more strictly to those who identify themselves first and foremost as musicians, and less so to those for whom playing music is secondary in their lives.

  • @InverseAgonist I understood your point very clearly, and it all seemed like one big discrimination to say that people whose profession is music lack the capacity to view things from a different angle than their predetermined "musical" one. Some of my friends who made a living off of being musicians are now political delegates and became the above mentioned BECAUSE they got sick of just talking the talk and not walking the walk.To be honest,my city's never been in a better shape,so i beg to differ

  • Imagining the human race is evil is a cop-out. It's easy to say you're going to be better than everyone else when everyone else is a terrible person who is out to kill you and your entire family and wreck the planet. But at some point you have to come to the realization that if morality is internal, and religion has it wrong, then you need to realize something else. Realize that you are no better than anybody else on this miserable planet. So kill yourself to start with, and I'll do what I want.

  • "What Darwin was

too polite to say, my friends, is that we came to rule the earth not

because we were the smartest, or even the meanest, but because we have

always been the craziest, most murderous motherfuckers in the jungle."

  • @deflorieren Well put lol

  • @deflorieren

Actually, I think it was the combination of having the smartest minds and having opposable thumbs.

Those two factors go together like gin and tonic.

  • @deflorieren

    Cell by stephen king ?

  • @GuerraMaldita yes.

  • @deflorieren don't pretend to know what darwin said until you've read the book. he even wrote another book longer than the origin of species trying to poke holes in his theory of evolution. i guess you're right though but your statement is not something im proud of. the most powerful species on Earth is almost the most arrogant, shits in it's own nest, and will eat itself to exctinction. or the most powerful is bacteria which has been around since the beginning and will continue to go on.

  • @ctp5020 it's a stephen king quote. quotation marks mean i am quoting someone else, which i'm sure is basic reading comprehension. try that before making assumptions about strangers, k?

  • @deflorieren my mistake, i am sorry.

  • @deflorieren youre right...

  • i believe in the concept of peace , but as a race we don't have the patience to do what has to be done to achieve it , you cant have peace with every one fighting over what isnt theres

  • I dont believe in peace.

    Anyone who does is ignorant.

    Only sustainable equilibrium.

On the other hand, great cover.

  • because they CARE!!!!!!

  • LOL lets all look at the bp ad!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This video was initially banned; Even though it was all file footage from prime-time TV. I know for some people, this darker version of the Lennon song takes a little time to sink in and appreciate. None-the-less, it is a marvellous version and well worth ABSORBING!

  • @Fuzzyballz101 Yeah, cause it sounds a lot darker it sounds almost sarcastic.

  • this is so much better than the orignal

  • Really good cover I like the darker arrangement of this piece and niceclips that actually did go really well with this video keep it up

The message the orginal had became so much darker and more sinister some how this tune had a little bit of Thy Light feel with their song and I finally reach My end song

I'm not Emo but that song is very special tough. porbably one of the Depressive Black songs I like.

  • lol, oh shit another emo kid!

  • There is a way guys there is a way! just wait for it and the internet will do his work. It allready opened many peoples eyes and it's still so young. As technology gets a certain level people MUST see things such as religion as a way to receive power... Just be patient.

  • @Turboviiper The internet is a big a problem as it is solution. It opens peoples eyes, and it clouds them over, its so easy to spin webs of lies and propoganda, the web is the most volatile and huge information source on the planet, and its easily corruptable because the fact anyone can be on it

  • @Spotfarm666 what about porn?

  • @MCsandmanPS

    What about porn?

  • @MCsandmanPS What about it?

  • this video makes me cry every time i watch it. it so raw and so blatantly, hauntingly true.

  • It saddens me to see how we claim to be "the few intelligent beings left on Earth" when were not doing anything to help ourselves, were sitting here watching videos ranting to eachother about how were more superior and above the mind-set of the population.. We have all fallen under the power of "The De-Revolution of Man" I have.. You have... We all have... Earth has..

    Thank you,

    Jonah Schwartz

  • All of you people that think this is a call to arms for emo kiddies need to learn more about Maynard James Keenan. In previous generations, people suffered from diseases like polio and smallpox on a scale that you can't even imagine. War was an always-present reality and no home could truly be considered a safe place. Today, in spite of some conflicts, individual quality of life is beyond anything most people in history could have thought possible. Quit whining like spoiled little bitches.

  • This song makes me cry. :'(

Its speaks of a blissful world thats unobtainable because of idiots.

only in our dreams can we ever be that happy.

  • Many of you see the truth. So much of this hell is caused by intolerance, ignorance, and general apathy towards our fellow humans, many who are fighting the same battle as us. Just the fact that we can grasp these ideas gives us the responsibility to try to help as many as possible understand. If enough do, perhaps then one day the world will understand. Til' then just keep telling everyone you can that only our fellow man can lift us out of our hell. Not some god, not some government, only us.

  • @beastyboyz27

ok... then.... just go kill yourself... start the wiped out with you...

  • @diegojn86 Fuck you as well. suicide isnt a joke

  • John Lennon a modern day revolutionary. I'm so happy that Maynard and A Perfect Circle are carrying on this message. Love is a far better feeling then hate ever will be.

  • @insertclevername14

There is a definite outcome, we just don't know what it is. Events are determined by a formula consisting of the variables that make up reality. All matter that has existed always has, therefore all the variables, or pieces-of-the-puzzle, already exist and can be used to determine what is to come.

  • Intelligence is the seed of sin. That's why animals don't have this problem of self-disgust. Improving on your flaws as an individual is just a method of calming your conscious, which isn't bad cause it doesn't really matter what you do either way in the sense of changing the now. The meaning of life is surviving to aid in the evolution of your specie, that goes for all life. Once a species reaches Godlike proportion, it'll give you that wonderful world of happiness. Survival of the Fittest eh?

  • sounds like communism.

  • go and watch some more movies or say something interesting

  • New World Order Illuminist propaganda at its finest.

  • @TheMasterCurly

Not thinking about it doesn't make it go away. It just encourages ignorance and makes it worse later.

And you need not worry about my mentality. I love humanity, I love life, and I'm always doing something constructive to keep my mind active. That doesn't mean I can't also have an opinion concerning politics. I think it is quite healthy to have an intrest in different cultures and events outside of our country.

  • ou pregao pq vc tirou o video do meu orkut seu zé buceta

  • We will kill ourselves off inevitably. Nuclear holocaust is the most likely, failing that this Oil Spill seems to be quite promising. After that, probably worldwide disease epidemic. Life and Death is a neverending cycle. Death is merely the absence of life. Just like dark being the absence of light, we must learn to fear what resides inside it, not fear the thing itself. It is simply nonexistence, then I'll be thankful for the release it will provide. Regardless, killing is not the answer.

  • watch zeitgeist!!!We all need to change!humanity sucks!

  • john lennon cover. they did alright.

  • the world went to shit after the death of a man who actually wanted to help the word, that man is john lennon and his soul will live on.

    RIP JOHN LENNON

  • I love this song. I build my life upon this meaning, but still I feel like a loner, because everyone else is doing the opposite. No matter what we do, no matter what we say, we will all be human. And so, I don't think there's a meaning of ALL life. But a meaning of my own life. My meaning of life is to be a dreamer, though I will try to realize this dream. It's worth giving a try.
