  • sent this to 50 people in the next hour, or you'll get badluck and receive a text from your crush (on his vodafone phone) saying 'i dont love you' if you dont want this to happen send the video to 17 and a half people and you crush will appear at midnight on your doormat (if you don't have a doormat, he will buy one.. and sit on it

  • "Dad. He's left me..."

    .....

"Your call has been diverted to the vodafone voicemail..."

  • vodafail.com

  • emptying the dishwasher in MY SUIT

  • very,very queer advert.

  • It's very crazy...no one knows the Movie "The Assissnation of Jesse James"...but THIS Song is fu**ing everywhere... :D Soo cool :)

  • "Power to you"? Kind of shallow when Vodafone dodges their proper tax in England. Learn more. Search and subscribe to undercurrents on Youtube.

  • "Dad, he's left me." "IM IN A FUCKING MEETING!"

  • I understand the point they're trying to get across is that the daughter is more important to her father than a big career break.

What kind of annoys me is that the daughter's reason for the interruption. Wow, a break-up? Go eat some Ben & Jerry's and watch a chick flick. I would sympathize with this advert more if the daughter were in an accident or something.

  • this is so cute :)

  • Wearing a suit to empty a dish washer ? and also "Dad" can hire a taxi get on the motorway and get to his daughter in about 10 seconds

  • @jayflex so for this advert, who would you say are the specific target audience?

  • @fghtffyrdmns5iana

Me, to an extent. I've had problems with my current network recently, and the caring attitude portrayed in this ad made me consider switching to Vodafone. However, I think this advert was designed to appeal more to women (in a similar situation).

Vodafone are taking a different approach to other networks. They are establishing an emotional bond with consumers (arguably more effective with women), which I think is essential in a market where all products are almost identical.

  • @jayflex Awesome, thank you :)

  • @fghtffyrdmns5iana

More specifically, I think the girl in the advert accurately represents the target audience.

You could even say that the (ex-)boyfriend is the horrible network she used to be on, and Dad is caring Vodafone coming to the rescue.

  • "You weren't doing anything, were you?"

"No... I was just emptying the dishwasher."

    ... In a suit? =/

  • This is a great advert. Those who commented saying horrible things are, in my eyes, heartless, and should spend more time watching other things. In answer to the question asked about Emmerdale, no, she is'nt. This is a new actress who is fresh on the scene in London and causing a storm, so keep an eye out. Lovely advert, and one of the better on at the moment! ps, I know her well!

  • @GeeFunk752 I think most people who are only saying 'bad things' about it are simply having a little laugh, it's harmless

    x

  • @GeeFunk752 Hey did this girl carry on and do more work? Been keeping an eye on this thread for a year in hope!!!

  • If my daughter was in the same boat I would do the same no matter what i was doing or were I was

  • is the girl the same actress who plays Holly Barton in emmerdale??

  • is the girl in the car the same girl who plays Holly Barton in Emmerdale?? if anyone knows please tell me, i got a tenner riding on the answer!

  • stupid bitch

if she speant more time in the kitchen like her boyfriend asked, then they wouldnt break up and her dad would make a better impression >:(

  • Comment removed

  • maybe if she put out, she wouldnt keep getting dumped every advert break.

  • hmm rare to find a dad like that :'(

  • best video

  • I really like this advert because it captures the emotions really well. its a very short and sweet. I also like i because its well shot, which captures the emotions more. i love adverts like this.

  • does he say "just empty the dishwasher?"

  • does he say "just empty the dishwasher?

  • @oasis4eva13 no, he says "i was just emptying the dishwasher" to not make her feel bad about calling him out

  • Now this is quite intresting ((Actually, it probably isnt))

But recently Nokia has been wanting to do adverts based more on people, because they realised that their adverts are based too much around the phone and the technology that it makes no real connection, and so they wanted to go something more humanised.

And now, Vodafone has released this advert which is doing just that, not focusing on the technology, as much as the people who use it.

  • I LOVE THIS ADD...The man is fit!

If only real dads were that nice..my dad would tell me 2 get stuffed.

  • this ad camer on when i was at the cinema and i was nearly crying it is so brilliant. Wish my dad would do that...

  • Ughhh this advert makes me throw up. so corny and something that would never happen in real life.

  • nicest advert ever.

  • i think this is the most sweetest advert i've ever seen

  • this looks like bristol?

0:38 looks like junction 2 of the M32 can anyone correct me if im wrong?

also 0:28 looks like the bridge/tunnel at the "Temple Way Underpass"

    anyone?

  • @tompstomps it's croydon mate

  • @tompstomps who cares!!!!!!!!!

  • Brilliant Advertising. Who directed this film. It is one of the best ads I have seen this year.

    Advertising Arthur

  • The music is from "The Assassination of jesse james, by the coward robert ford"

its by "Nick Cave & Warren Ellis" and the song is "What must be done"

  • @pigne Thanks for that, I've added it to the description.

  • Wish he was my dad...or maybe not as I think he is rather tasty!! Maybe I just wished my dad was more like that! lol

  • know the song in the advert?

  • @jdizzler Sorry I don't. I assumed it was just a small piece of music written for the advert. I could be wrong though.

  • I adore this advert. Very well done Vodaphone!!

  • totally! just a shame i can think if more people i would do it for then who would do it for me!

  • Love love love this advert! Something my dad would do, so lucky x

  • @lm48442 I think that's why it works so well. It doesn't just show a nice scene. It makes you think of the person in your life who would drop everything for you, or perhaps the person who you would drop everything for.
