RV is the classification numbering system for all of Vivaldi's works. Each composition has a specific RV number. RV425 is the specific number for this particular mandolin concerto in C major. The RV numbering system is analogous to that of the BWV numbering system for the music of JS Bach or the K numbering system for the music of W A Mozart.
