I don't want to be a vegetarian because I don't have sharp teeth, etc. I want to be vegetarian because I can't live feeling good about myself killing animals to eat them. There are more and more people who are feeling this way today.
@Deradune I understand, but you do realize that soy, corn, and wheat farming involves pest management, and therefore the death of thousands of mice, rats, prarie dogs, rabbits and insects, whereas the production of grass fed, pastured cattle or bison, living as they do on unmanaged pasture, does so to a much lesser degree, yeah? In terms of numbers of animals killed, you'd be better off eating game or grass fed beef.
@Deradune I understand where your coming from but what about all the lions, wolves, bears, carnivores, and even herbivores on occasion. How come it is that they eat other animals yet when a human does it, it's somehow wrong? Should lions become vegetarians as well? I saw a vid of a lion straight up killing a baby cheetah. It was kinda sad in a way, but (as the Lion King said it so well lol) Tis the circle of life :) We ALL gotta go someday.
@Deradune I used to be of this mindset. But now I feel that if the process is sustainable and the animals are happy/healthy before they are slaughtered, then it is not immoral. We made the decision to bring these animals into life on the farm, let them live freely, and we decide to kill them (in a humane way). This all seems pretty ethical, at least from my perspective. Let me know how you feel about this view.
@mmcakes100 I don't feel I know all the answers, but my feeling is that if it is all right to eat animals, the way you describe is the only good way -- and where they have been eating either organic or wild foods (and grasses rather than grains) -- and treating them with respect both while living and in manner of killing.
@electricblackhorse The slides are posted on the Ancestry Health (org) website. On the bottom right hand side you'll see a link for all the slides for all the talks.
#1 - Your intelligence and rational thinking is so attractive. If marriage is out of the question, I at least want to be your friend and have long talks with you about life. #2 - I would love to hear you speak on the scientific aspects of fluoridation.
#3 - I can't proclaim that I "understand" everything your explaining (and I wish I could see your slide show!) but it's motivating me to keep listening and do my own research. Keep up the amazing work!
The levels of intelligence go smart, clever, brilliant, genius and then simple. It takes more intelligence to communicate something effectively to the layman than to regurgitate data. Really good talk though, just the beginning had a little bit of healthy arrogance- do the majority of humans from every socioeconomic status really care about what organic chemists think? Or do entertaining bestsellers have more cultural clout?
I wouldn't take this guy on in a game of scrabble

Is there a version of this where they thought to record the slide presentation as well as the speaker?
