Actually, this is one of the truest things I've heard about the war in Iraq. Many people want to pull out and everyone wants less casualties. The problem is that if we pull out now a ton of violence will ensue, some or which will be aimed towards returning the troops. With no one acting as police, the country will fall into chaos, the world (especially middle east will hate us) and we will have a large problem in Iraq which will probably be solved with a worse dictator than Hussain.

Mitt Romney and Ron Paul are probably the most staunch conservatives, different ways, but they are. McCain is just as mistated, a Liberal Republican or maybe a Conservative Democrat. Well, whatever other options do you suggest? Hell, I would make a better president than any candidate running, but voting for myself would be a waste vote, not to mention I am only 25 and not legally older enough to be elected. If I had my way, I would seal the border, reform the immigration process, give illegals then 5 years to get in line to become citizens. Then when 5 years is up initiate a plan that will track down and remove all illegals from our country.

Thats why I think we should have a series of election where candidates run against each other. After each election, you would then wean candidates off the ballot until you have 2 and then ultimately one candidate left. This is good particularly because only serious voters actually come out to vote every time, people who don't care so much won't always vote, allowing people like you and me who care about this stuff to make the decision. It will also more closely show who we as a people want.

What I find interesting is that according to the US constitution "Article 1 Section 8" No army can be funded for longer than 2 years. So in reality, the 6 year Iraq war that Bush and congress contiues to fund is now an illegal war under the constitution. Just a thought. And Bush says that the Constitution is just a piece of paper anyway.

Actually, this is one of the truest things I've heard about the war in Iraq. Many people want to pull out and everyone wants less casualties. The problem is that if we pull out now a ton of violence will ensue, some or which will be aimed towards returning the troops. With no one acting as police, the country will fall into chaos, the world (especially middle east will hate us) and we will have a large problem in Iraq which will probably be solved with a worse dictator than Hussain.

If we stablize the region and allow the Iraq's to establish control (like McCain was saying), we'll have a lower mortality rate to the point where we can essentially pull out. These casualty rates used to be worse in Germany, Japan, and South Korea (cause of WWII and the Korean War), but once it was stabled (with lots of troops), everything was fine.

Well, whatever other options do you suggest? Hell, I would make a better president than any candidate running, but voting for myself would be a waste vote, not to mention I am only 25 and not legally older enough to be elected. If I had my way, I would seal the border, reform the immigration process, give illegals then 5 years to get in line to become citizens. Then when 5 years is up initiate a plan that will track down and remove all illegals from our country.

Only thing I can think of is vote 3rd party. Although the default choice for most is Barr and he is far from ideal, there is the guy from the Constitution Party. The outrage you feel is rampant - far more than any time before in recent history. Thats why I think we should have a series of election where candidates run against each other. After each election, you would then wean candidates off the ballot until you have 2 and then ultimately one candidate left. This is good particularly because only serious voters actually come out to vote every time, people who don't care so much won't always vote, allowing people like you and me who care about this stuff to make the decision. It will also more closely show who we as a people want.

What I find interesting is that according to the US constitution "Article 1 Section 8" No army can be funded for longer than 2 years. So in reality, the 6 year Iraq war that Bush and congress contiues to fund is now an illegal war under the constitution. Just a thought. And Bush says that the Constitution is just a piece of paper anyway.
