Its really funny because I mostly do Nine Inch Nails covers but Todd Rundgren has always been a major influence on my musical development. I admire the complexities of the chord structure and arrangements in all his songs and yet he somehow kept the music accesable to listeners. Could I ask why dont you sing anymore?
I don't sing much anymore, but I used to sing Everything from Opera to The blues. I took voice lessons for many years and have sung every style of music you can think of. I just recently happened upon on Todd's music and fell head over heels in love with him. I knew his more popular tunes, but never thought that much of him until I listened to his entire catoloque of work.I was blown away. He's a genius!!
LOL It's not retarded. You have a nice voice. I don't much about production, but I was a singer for many years. All you need to do vocally is add a little more feeling and punch to the vocals. I really like the tone quality of your voice and this is a great song:)
Keep it just like this. I'm a producer. Marvelous. You should tour with Todd as opening act doing his Something/Anything tunes. Contact his web radio site.
Boy-oh-boy...LOTS of potential in this one, both in vocals and in the production style. Work on the drum bits (snare timing sticks out as needing the most work).
I have no problem with the tempo at all.
I've been a Todd head since the late sixties and know most of his material inside and out. Try giving this one a complete remake, knowing what you know now and learning from the mistakes you know you made in this version.
It's really cool! I just don't like transposed tunes for some reason? I would have recorded it in the original key. But it's still awesome! I'll dig how you made it your own, and not a carbon copy. Todd would really respect and appreciate that. Your voice sounds fantastic! Like a young Todd! I also love the stark humanity in the drum track! I think this is fanfuckingtastic dude! The vocals are outrageous! Real 70's sounding recording. I can tell you've listened the crap out of Something/Anything
Great work.I'd have made the drums more realistic sound wise(use acoustic samples).Production was fine. How did you do the vocals, what plug-ins or effects were uses? How many vocal tracks did you use?
Thanks so much for the comment and the rating! Sadly I dont think that Todd made a big impact in Australia, but i could be wrong cause i moved to AU when i turned 19 and ive only been in AU for 2 years, im an American, LOL.
Outstanding! awesome recoding/playing...but yeah, so slow its kind of a downer, nice original take though.
thanks for posting!

Doesn't sound like Todd, but not bad. Sounds kind of like Rufus Wainwright.

There is something magical about this tune. It's just a feeling I suppose. You did a great job retaining that feeling.

It's very good but a tuch too slow...i think it would be phenomenal if you came close to the original speed.
