Just goes to show you really can't improve the 1911. You can make it lighter, higher-cap, whatever, but John Moses Browning (hereafter referred to as God) just got it right. Throat it, polish it, pretty it up, but keep plastic guns confined to the guns that were designed to be plastic guns. The 1911 was designed to be accurate, heavy, maintenance-intensive, and awesome!
@19NaVi72 so the 1911 really cant be a polymer gun just because of its design? im just curious and dont know about the 1911's actual mechanics. im sort of interested in a 1911-shaped/designed single-stack polymer carry weapon, but i guess they dont exist haha
@De908 I honestly don't know. Wilson Combat has the Spec-Ops 9, which is a 9mm, double stack, 1911-style pistol. From what I've heard, it's a great pistol. That said, it is Wilson Combat. I think it's their least expensive model, but it still ticks in at $2000. I've thought about getting one, but probably won't. I'd rather save the extra coin and get one of their alloy framed 1911s chambered in 10mm.
i have to agree with every body ive owned one of these for many years now and when i shoot it i always get double feeds misfires etc. not surprised its been discontinued
I've owned 3 kimbers , and have had so-so results. Only have one now, a TLE. Know a dude at work who carries a Wilson version of the Ten II, I think its the KX45?Something like thatt. When it comes to 1911's, you get what you pay for. I also have a NightHawk custom Enforcer. Big bucks but so far not one failure.
I like the looks of it, definitely a better looking pistol than any of the other polymer .45s out there, but I don't think it'd be worth the headaches you'd get from shootin it.
I think the 1911 purists will HATE this with a passion. From all the problems you were having with it, I do not think you will increase the sales on the secondary market much, lol.
@GunWebsites Yeah, I'm just not a 1911 guy and have no interest in this whatsoever. I say pick one or the other, don't try and combine them. I eventually plan on getting a 1911 one of these days, probably a Night Hawk Custom so that I'll have a really good one and can finally say I own a 1911. And that'll most likely be the only one I'll ever buy and last my entire lifetime. Who knows, maybe I'll be bitten by the 1911 bug once I own one. That's what my "1911 friends" tell me anyways, lol!
who the fuck does sarah brady think she is? my rifle stays with me, and if they take it, its because they finally killed me. im not gonna let America become another british styled freedom fucked cunt-ry without speaking my native language of Boom Headshot! tell that bitch to eat the devils dick and shut the fuck up. Im red white blue and better than u.
isnt a 1911 supposed to be heavy?

the Kimber doesn't look like it has a lot of flip in the recoil.

There is a reason this was discontinued. I had one and had nothing but problems. Some things just weren't to be.

I'd stick with a 2011...but they are pretty pricey and are more of a race gun...

I love 1911's...
I love polymer framed guns...
but I do not like this for some reason... It makes me upset, Honestly.
I have a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" attitude.

And I thought aluminum frames were bad enough on 1911's..

Perhaps it will bring the 1991 & 'plastic gun' people together !!..
unfortunately they will probably just all come together to not like this hybrid, LOL
