What most of yall kiddies dont realize is Tex. Southern is not afraid to play new songs nowone else is willing to try, like SU the Ocean is a trendsetter with their music selection like for example first band to play tribute to Bob Marley (fall 86) Coming to America aka Zamunda (Prof. Sam Jackson arrangement)and we been playing neck since the song was made in the early 80's... Know your history !!!

Check this out. All SWAC bands don't play with the same amount of power and chords. I play in a SWAC band. I play in JSU band and the trombone section has at least 5 note chords all the time. If Jackson played just the 3 note chords like everybody else, we would str8 murder anybody.

I was at this event. This was a battle between tsu and Grambling. Tsu had a slight edge with power but Grambling sounded waaaaaaaay better. Grambling stole the show with some song from usher and then Grams drumline got a standing ovation from the Tsu student body! Some old school KKY from TSU was like "Gram outclassed yall niqqas". Both bands did good, but Gram had the edge because of BOTB experience.
