Canadian Thanksgiving is on October 2nd (not 3st). We still celebrate Halloween like America. Also, I'm not sure mean by the whole 'its covered by healthcare' thing... unless you were being sarcastic/were kidding (in which case, just ignore this lol!)
oooooohhhh yeeah!!!...24 hours 'till my Kansas turkey time!
I don't keep Christmas either! I usually just don't say anything about it cause I don't want to explain my beliefs to every Joe who says marry Christmas. But I'm not a Jehovah witness ;D
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday too. And though, I like Christmas, I hate how everybody kinda forgets about Halloween and Thanksgiving. One year, I saw a singing Santa greeting people at a Walmart...........in August. Thats a little ridiculous! So I end up hating Christmas until Thanksgiving is over. Lol.
Anyways, food looks great and Happy Thanksgiving!
Wait your friend lied to you! We never had thanksgiving on the 31st?! The different date the is the only difference with USA's for us at least. Well thanks for showing us that you can still celebrate thanksgiving in Japan~ Ah and usually we get a huge turkey so the next day we can do some recipes with it~ (of them being called vol-au-vent).
hhaha yeah we canadians celebrate it mid october, and we celebrate haloween and its not suported by health care... lol how can it be supported by health care? i didnt know if he was bein serious lol
lol, Im lad to hear that. we had a show on cbc it as called talking to americans and it wa this guy interviwing americans about canada. Some people thought we all lived in igloos... haha its probly on youtube if you wanted to check it out.
From the first time I saw him, i actually thought that he was a Jehovas... probably has to do that he looks just like one of my former classmates who were Jehova lol.
Hmmmph. Well, that is not what I am. I'm actually not a very religious person, but I was raised Jewish, which is something that no one has EVER guessed based on my appearance. And now I know why. I look like a Jehova's witness. :)
Ummmmmm. As Ciaela mentions, I'm not the right person to ask, because I've never had a Christmas. I think I've heard that people eat Christmas hams as main dishes sometimes, or chicken or turkey, while Thanksgiving is strictly turkey. And yeah, no pumpkin pie on Christmas, at least not to my knowledge.
I'm pretty sure the protein during a Christmas meal is generally a bird like a goose or something like a "Holiday Ham".. I have no idea though, most people who celebrate Christmas aren't even Catholics or w/e. I knew about the Canadian Thanksgiving though.. just to make myself feel better by telling everyone on your channel this. >_>
Do you know any place in Tokyo area where I can buy thanksgiving food ?

Hey BobbyJudo,
Just a quick fact correction:
Canadian Thanksgiving is on October 2nd (not 3st). We still celebrate Halloween like America. Also, I'm not sure mean by the whole 'its covered by healthcare' thing... unless you were being sarcastic/were kidding (in which case, just ignore this lol!)
I know this because I'm from Canada. :)

for a japanese apartment yours looks pretty big, how much are you paying for it?
AttilaWMC 2 years ago
It is pretty big. On top of the space you can see in the video, there's a 6 tatami-mat bedroom, and a loft. It's 4man a month. Saga is cheap.
bobbyjudo 2 years ago
WOW! That's sooooo cheap. :(
I pay 165,000/month in Tokyo. Eugh....

You're invited next year, but you have to bring an egg dish.
bobbyjudo 2 years ago
Do I really have to have an egg dish by myself in the corner? C'mon -- it's a party. Let's get something that everyone can share. :)

American sympathizer. Lol!
Man, I know people don't like us, but is it really THAT bad?
Anyways. Very interesting! I learned about Japanese and Canadian Thanksgiving and a tip in SSBB. xDDD
It looks like you had fun with everyone! Make sure you do a video for the Christmas season when it rolls around, too. :)

That food looked pretty yummy too.

Canadians also substitute turkey with polar bear steak for thanksgiving since its too cold for turkeys here.
Those were some really cool ideas for the dinner, I'd like to try some of that sometime!
Skankster 2 years ago
I looove Japanese satsumaimo, I wish I could find it here. :( I would love to learn your recipe so I can make it when I go to Japan, one day.
That meal looked great! And your place is really nice, and that bit with Ciaela playing SSB was funny. :)
I have a question about Thanksgiving.
What's the difference between a Thanksgiving lunch/dinner and Christmas lunch/dinner? Is it just the desserts?
yumyumsesame 2 years ago
Better not ask Jeff about Christmas. I made that mistake. Several times. In the same day.
