If 40% of the teams that played Alabama held Ingram to under 100 yds rushing, I'm pretty confident the best run "D" in the nation should be able to as well. BUT, it's the other Alabama RB I'm concerned with. It's a pretty simple strategy for Bama...if they can run, thus control the clock, they win in a squeaker. If Texas stops the run, it could be a much higher scoring game...for Texas, that is.

I'm disappointed that Colt lost. Especially since last year Colt got robbed of a Heisman and a Nat'l Championship. Yet, he did worse this year. So, Ingram definitely deserves it. He's been most consistant as of yet. BUT.... I don't think he'll be doing too much running against the Texas D-line or LBs.

@JKM070 I'd definitely say it's going to be a good game.  Really close margin in my opinion either way. yet, I actually think the Texas D will be able to stop Ingram. It reminds me of a player that no one thought could be stopped. Reggie Bush... texas stopped him. At the Nat'l Championship. I think the same could be the case for Mr. Ingram. Hold him under 100.

You know what I don't get...is... Ingram didn't even win the award for his cetegory- best running back...yet he won the heisman. I don't get it. I've lost respect for the heisman. I guess it does no good to sit and bitch about it, cuz it don't. But it's so retarded. I mean, the best running back award went to Toby...Makes no sense.

Unfair? When did I say him winning was unfair? The point im trying to get to is that if you can't even win the best RB, how can you be a RB and still win the best PLAYER?! Answer that, other than the simple line of more people voted for him. All they're trying to do is have all the good players win something. It doesn't mean that they're the best. It's retarded. Why even award the trophy when it RARELY goes to the best player?

Thats the same as saying its unfair.. It could be that the voters see Ingram as being the best player, and that is why he won the award,,and perhaps its the best running back award they gave just so they could "win something" ..

Position awards don't always translate to Heisman wins. Rolando McClain won the Butkus award for best linebacker this year, but wasn't considered for the Heisman. Different award, different nominating and voting procedures = different outcomes. He simply got more votes (but not a lot more) than the other guys. Toby was close though.

In baseball, Cy Young winners don't always get the MVP award.
