  • Death changes things

  • this song reminds me Hall of Malcolm in the Middle :D

  • sounds like cheryl crow stole something

  • great song, stupid comments

  • rip mate

  • A good album and wonderful music back then I heard this song since under age 10 years

  • i just want to shoot a cop in the stomach, cover a man in gasoline, smoke a lot of cigarettes, rob a diamond bank, chill with steve buscemi, and have funny conversation.

    Anyone else in?

  • 19 people are clowns

  • WAIT THIS IS IN A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE!!!!!!!

  • Love this songggg

  • 17 people must have their ear cut off

  • They play this song on loop at Guantanamo...

  • reservoir dogs!!!!!!! great movie and fantastic song

  • Interesting to see that this video features in the middle a black and white photo of what I presume is meant to be Stealer's Wheel, but is in fact another excellent band from the sixties, Spooky Tooth. Also Gerry Rafferty died of multiple organ failure as a result of his alcoholism, not AIDS. The 'Official' video doesn't show Gerry at any time for some strange reason, although it briefly shows the Les Paul he's playing, I wonder why?

  • It's interesting that the video here features a black and white photograph in the middle, of a band, presumably meant to be Stealer's Wheel, which is in fact another band altogether, Spooky Tooth, a brilliant band from the sixties. And Gerry Rafferty died of multiple organ failure as a result of alcoholism, not AIDS. Interesting too that the 'Official' video of the song doesn't show Gerry Rafferty.

  • @jackanapes1 im stuck in the middle with u

  • @RedDragoon- In my 'umble opinion, Gerry Rafferty and Joe Egan wrote some great songs, SITMWY just isn't one of them. I have a feeling that Gerry R. thought so too, and was equally un-impressed by the clowns in the video , which is why he's a bit camera shy.

  • @jackanapes1 The only reason I can guess there is a picture of Spooky Fish is because it is evident Stealers Wheel was so camera shy that a picture was shown of at least one member of Stealers Wheel. The mans last name was Bender, I believe. After Spooky Fish split, Bender did play with Stealers Wheel for a short period. That is my guess, though.

  • this really makes me want to watch pulp fiction

  • @27flowerchild You better be trollin'

  • I think the best thing about this song is the bouncing bottleneck guitar.

  • hey this is the song i rob banks too i mean dance to yes dance :D

  • I am touched by the passing of Gerry. He's a unique voice, and even though I only own City To City, I still feel his passing deeply. I have had three beers so far tonight in homage to Gerry.

Everyone secure your Al "Year Of The Cat" Stewart fix. He's the next to bite it, I fear.

  • @coolkayaker1 I have had 2 days now listening to Gerry and drinking a bit. His songs never get old. I cant find anything bad about his albums. I have listened to everything from the Humblebums to "On a wing and a prayer", lovely songs all over.

Sorry you only know "City to city" although that is the best album.

  • @ClubViking63 THanks for your input, and with your recommendation, I bought GRs Best of 1972-1980: Days Gone Down. You;re right, it's amazing! I can't stop thinking of Night Owl. And all the rest (Mary Skeffington, etc). I know (pray?) that they will come out with the ultimate box set, rerelease in good quality Night OWl and Snakes and Ladders and perhaps a bunch of unreleased tunes. Thanks, CV63

  • @coolkayaker1 YW, all of GR albums are great. I have not listened to some box from him, but I have most of his studio albums. Night Owl I just loved when it came out. BTW, it was appointed as the most ugly album cover of the year in England.....

  • @ClubViking63 Thanks, since I posted I've purchased most of Gerry's CDs, including Night Owl. I'm with you, Club; it's every bit as good as C2C. Thanks for your nice comment and for turning me on to the full scope of Mr. Rafferty. I'm headed to the ice box for a cold one now in repeat homage to the man.

  • @coolkayaker1 Yeah, you and me have found that Mr Rafferty is someone to be loved, for the songs he did!Can you tell me what´s your fav album of him?

  • There are a lot of aging rockers like myself who gave up the booze, got sober (25 years next month) and lived.

I'm sorry no one got to Gerry with the message: he could quit, if he wanted to live longer. Or maybe someone did, and he made that choice.

Sixty three years is actully a long life for a guy who was once so drunk he had to be wheeled off of a plane in a wheelchair. R.I.P.

  • @BirdsEatCats .one of the sins that lead to death//

  • Goodbye great songsmith and poet. The pain of your life is what makes these songs magical and you made a whole lot of people very, very happy. Thank you for the years of wonderful music............

".... we sit in empty rooms and dream our lives away while the spirits come and go without a sound and just like you and me, they're trying to find a way find a way, find a way............... home........"

    (Sleepwalking 1982)

  • Rock In Peace !!!!!!

  • I always thought they were Americans?

  • this song is what killed gerry rafferty.....

  • Rest in peace Gerry. Your music will endure.

  • BirdsEatCats -- he died of KIDNEY failure, not liver failure.

  • @lcmayzl read a newspaper, such as The Telegraph (UK). He died of LIVER failure. Like his father before him, he was a drunk. R.I.P.

  • @BirdsEatCats .as long as he accepted jesus before he went, he will not go to hell. god bless you//

  • @benalchemist74 There's no way to be certain, but I'm betting that his time in hell ended when he passed away; just as mine ended when I stopped drinking, in Feb of 1986.

  • @BirdsEatCats . thats great. drink wrecks families and thats why I gave up and will never drink again. God Bless you and well done!

  • REST IN PEACE gERRY!

  • ... Gerry Rafferty is gone too. :( ... So many music greats leaving us. <3

  • he had a dream about buying some land

  • Died of liver failure, age 62.

Couldn't put the bottle away, now it's put him away.

  • @BirdsEatCats Fuck You.

  • You go, Gerry. You can have a drink now. R.I.P.

  • . Raising my drink to Gerry tonight. Peace, B.B.

  • Nice post. Argh, sad news. I just heard. Would recommend Gerry Rafferty's solo tunes. Some really thoughtful lyrics in a lot of his work.

  • RIP Gerry, A Scottish musical legend.

  • clowns jokers cant walk falling out of chair correct if im wrong but hes on a bad trip isnt he

  • Gerry was not on a bad trip in the sense that you mean.

This song was written about a meeting at the Arethusa club in the King's Road, London when the contract with A&M was discussed and agreed. I was sitting next to Gerry. The Stuck in the Middle lyrics did not reflect the effort of a number of people who were going out on a limb for the group, but that's the way of it.

  • @chewylikesit Or a really good one

  • @chewylikesit are YOU on a bad trip?

  • Please............

  • @atomichead777

Scrap previous comment..wasn't paying attention lol,, sorry !

  • I'm gonna cut your fucking ear of!

  • cant listen to this song without my right ear hurting a little bit

  • im proud to be a rafferty

  • normally not my type of music but thats cool :D

  • MORE COWBELL!

  • @shive64 If you're referring to that Will Farell and Christopher Walken, HILLARIOUS!!!

  • " Stuck in the chamber with Jews" XD

  • I don't believe it's plagiarism of Bob Dylan - the music is nothing like Bob's, just Gerry's voice that has a passing similarity. This and Baker Street are the two best known Stealers' songs. Baker St. is certainly neither Beatles or Dylanesque

  • anybody feel like chopping someones ear off?

  • gasoline.... check razor..... check now all what's needed is a cop bound to a chair lol

  • @hippie3000 Hahaha True That!

  • this song makes me so happy (:

  • I hate it at the end when he writes "this could be an important album"

  • Pity they couldn't settle their differences, a great tune from a great Celtic band

  • I love this song and I love reservoir dogs

  • Trying way too hard to be Dylan.

  • This song makes me want to go to an abandoned warehouse, dance around and cut off someone's ear.

  • is this originaly scottish music???

  • koffer skriv du både på norsk og engelsk

  • love it

  • Good song.

    Shit commentary.

    Pretentious and bombastic.

    Sorry.

  • @silly0arse Agree 100%.. Good song/shit commentary- if you want to be proud of yourself do it on your own merits.. Mertis aren't spinning Bullshit about someone's music to try and make yourself look sophisticated.

  • the singer sounds like a fusion of bob dylan and john lennon

  • @Dilson9307 i couldn't put my finger on who he sounded like, now it all makes sense haha

  • @thehannahsaurus lol glad i could help

  • @Dilson9307 Yeah the singer does sound like a fusion of Lennon & Dylan, my two favorite musicians of all time!!

  • Possible side-effects of Stealers Wheel: Viscious severing of facial features, spontanious chests full of lead, and gasoline showers.

  • @MNUrebel56 its weird, it makes me wanna do a little shuffle dance with a cut throat razor ;D i cant explain it?

  • tarantino allways know good music!

  • I just heard this song and its cool.

  • Cool song.

  • 0:41 left man of picture, thats hyde van that 70 show :P

  • Maybe if you didn't spend all of your time typing like a fucking idiot then you would be done with your essay by now.

  • Love it!

  • I have to say, as a 'young person' in this day and age, there are no songs that compare to the ones written in the 70's. Nothing made these days even comes close to as good! :)

  • AGREEEED! im the same way! Ill be jamming some old school stuff and my friends are like where do you find these songs?? its sad when good music gets lost over the years.. thats why you gotta keep it alive!

  • this is the best comment page i went on today

  • how in the hell could you think those were the lyrics? U definately get a big flaming FAIL for that one. And if u really did what your name implies mr. "ihitaparkedcar" you are most certainly part of those 99% of americans that fail.

  • No shit they arent lyrics you moron. They arent supposed to be.

So sir. YOU 'Fail'. Not the guy who made the video.

  • Those aren't the lyrics. I was trying to sing along and all the words were different.

Sir I am about to inform you, You Fail.

    Like 99% of Americans.

  • lol... I try so hard not to laugh at the shit you just wrote... XD XD XD

  • definitely not pain, more like an orgasmic experience of the ears xD. solid gold tune

  • well spoken comment lol

  • does anyone else have a sharp pain in their right ear when they listen to this?

  • I do .

  • umm, define pain. like a small little annoyance, or your ear feels like it's on fire? I don't feel any "pain"

  • its ashame that not many people understand this...

  • Mr. tomitalo... I'm sorry ignorant people rated your comment -2...

May be it comes from the fact that they haven't heard of a movie called "reservoir dogs"... haven't seen one of the most incredible scene in cinema history! I'm deeply sorry... but not for you... but for all the rest...

  • @tomitalo Yeah, like if someone was like cutting it.. or something....

    wierd, huh?

  • Are you enjoying this as much as I am?

  • This song is epic, I love this type of music its better than the shit they play now.

  • Great Song, to bad some people don't apreciate the old music.

  • Feelings are mutual, at least for me anyway.
