If you watch the documentary of "Jonestown" and you will see that he uses the an expression of being a God to his people. Nevertheless, you will also learned how he threw the bible to denounce that the actual heaven or God does not exsist. He did use religion methods in order to gain faith and even some of the survivors testifies how they believed in him. (Pt.1)
