  • sounds like an old fashioned "witch hunt".

  • North American numbers (2005) showed that 70% of addicted persons who quit drugs with no formal rehabilitation (eg. methadone maintenance, medications, in patient therapy, outside groups like NA/AA or Narconon) were successful. Please realize that in medical terms "successful" translates to "having stayed off their drug of choice for a minimum of 5 years".

Regardless, isn't a 70% success rate what the Narconon literature claims? Doesn't sound as though they're doing anything special, does it?

  • RIP Patrick Desmond..

I can imagine what this young man's family went through...

  • They are cultist nut jobs at narconon!!! I got my weener sucked everynight by the security guard when I was in narconon northern california, it was fantastic. When he was done I would fart in his face as part of the objective. His name was Marty, I'll never forget the scumbag!!!

  • We still remember

  • Narconon...

    Scientology has lied.

    Innocent people have died.

This is what happens when crazy religious fanatics try to treat serious illnesses.

  • Fukin $cilons they need to take 3000mgs.

of niacine.. Mabye tthen they would see what a "GOOFED UP"liver is..The bastards...

  • Take a look at my profile. Unfortunately, my family had a nasty run-in with that Purification bull (introduced by an employer of a relative) ultimately , leaving my niece with life-long liver damage due to hepatoxicity of niacin megadoses.

    Bastards...

  • Narconon is even more dangerous for anyone whos liver is partly compromised before they start the treatment, as are most drug users livers. Niacin and other vitamines are given at levels far exceeding the maximum recommended daily limits.

  • We remember those that were lost all to soon. The destruction this cult is causing must be stopped.

  • aphex twin, sweet

  • We remember Patrick We regret his family will spend the holidays without him. We will return and seek justice.

  • HAIL XENU! Eat more Clams!

    (Look my homeboy up) ;-)

  • The USA must change its drug rehabilitation policy so that only medical facilities are allowed. nar-CON-on has no doctors, no nurses, no state supervision--- and they kill people.

  • This is one treatment, however, for which knowledgeable medical supervision is a top priority. In the large doses needed -1,500 to 3,000 milligrams a day—niacin can cause liver problems. In fact, problems can start with doses as low as 500 milligrams, although some effects might not show up for years.

  • yeah and like drugs do nothing to the liver right?!!?

  • Knowledgeable medical practitioners wouldn't supervise this course of treatment as it is dangerous and ineffective, anonamace. I know that neither myself nor my husband would, anyway.

  • "You can get a much better fee — I tell you as auditors quite frankly — it's much easier to get a great deal of money out of somebody who's on a down spiral into becoming MEST than it is to get money out of somebody who is going on an up spiral toward becoming theta."

    -- L. Ron Hubbard, "Philadelphia Doctorate Course" #15 (1952)

In other words: Taking money from the desperate and distressed is easiest.

    video: watch?v=JlNrQ1ENkv8&yt

  • Too bad sci can't leave this video alone! The destroy everything they touch

  • He died while he was in their care first of all. That makes them automatically suspect, since he's their responsibility. Secondly narconon is a quack drug rehab facility run by the "church" of $cientology (CO$). They perscribe dangerous treatments like the purification rundown that can cause liver, and kidney damage. There are a lot of red flags.

  • do u always

do what u r told to

    do mikey

    cos: thanks for the explanation

  • Who's telling me what to do?

  • no one in particular

    but when they have

    do u always

    do what they say?

  • What is the context to your questions? You're not making any sense. Why can't you talk straight forward? This isn't an auditing session scilon.

  • You already blew your cover, and I've seen this act a thousands time from Scientologists like you. How come up top when you 1st responded to a comment I left two months ago you know what LRH meant? You referred to LRH as "l ronald". So nice try.

  • everyone that does not agree w/ u is not necessarily a scientologist i do know that william benitez studied fundamentals of thought written by l ronald h and was inspired to stay clean after decades of drug abuse that's what i want i want 2 judge the tree by it's fruit personally having now read the book for every one insight i get there seems 2 me 2 be 2 parts same old, same old given a new name & 2 parts bull shit from some ego maniac
  • look in the mirror

  • ricko must have been 'enjoying' something other than sports 'to the fullest' in order to end up under narconon care in the first place. i missed the mention of that in this vid.

  • So you're going to try and blame the victim, typical $cientologist, typical. I thought Narconon was supposed to help their clients end their addictions, not kill them.

  • I'm always amused when some Narconon supporter claims that there's no relationship between Scientology and Narconon.

Narconon materials carefully avoid mention of Scientology, but they use Scn terminalogy as well as utilizing concepts unique to the Scientology philosophy like the "Tone Scale", the "Training Routine" (TR) courses.

Plus there's L. Ron Hubbard books everywhere.

No...they're not recruiting for Scientology at all....HA!

  • You are right -- people should find out the real FACTS about Narconon and its link to Scientology.

This can easily be done by reading the Wikipedia article about Narconon, or going to narconon-exposed(dot)org.

  • @ pila

    narCONon IS scientology.

Narconon may have protected some lives that may have been taken at random by car accident or plane crash, but they arent in the business of empowering addicts, the addiction is simply transfered.

the good thing is scientology is really bad at P.R. so, your oppositional spam acts as a indicator of how brainwashed or STUPID you must be to post such easily debunked rhetoric. GOOGLE NARCONON & SCIENTOLOGY!

  • what is the addiction transferred to? I am not a spam act, just an ex addict who went thru treatment and now is free of addiction. Why would i need to google scientology and narconon?? I Can google many things and get crazy data. I don't need to google anything,i know from experience it works. And, the lives NN saves isn't random... I know MANY ppl who have completed who are drug free and NOT scientologist... even somet that are anti scientologists! Can you not accept the fact that NN works??

  • do you believe that L Ron Hubbard played a role in you're getting clean?

or was it the sauna and vegetable oil treatments?

what worked best, niacin overdoses or e-meter auditing?

    sry,its just laffable.

anyone who is cured by vegetable oil, didnt have a drug problem to begin with, and they remain crazy..

your abject idiocy brings humor to my day. thank your parents for me.

do this, provide us one non scientology/narconon propaganda video based report of success for narCONon. good luck with that.

  • All of my data says you are dead wrong!

  • You seem to be confusing Narcotics Anonymous with Narcanon. The former is not run by the Co$, while the latter is.

  • Narconon is run by Scientology.

I'm more glad than I can say that you decided to stop using drugs/alcohol. I'm also glad that you were not killed while at Narconon.

People can and do recover from addiction disorder by many ways and means. AA has helped countless people achieve sobriety and there are other ways as well. AA does have an edge in that one can give and receive lifetime support w/out subscribing to some whacko cult.

  • $cientology kills again.

    We are Anonymous

    We are legion

    We will not forgive

    We will not forget

    Expect us

  • There seems to be an awful lot of spammed one-sentence comments from the same 3 posters on the pro-Narconon videos. Wonder why that is?

You'd think that all the "successfully cured" Narconon patients would number in the tens of thousands by this point!

Unless Narconon and its employees are totally full of crap, of course.

  • Not everyone dies. Just a few. But they weren't doing it right.

    They had it coming.

  • Troll. Narconon Rocks!!

  • Narconon DOES rock! Patrick Desmond was just a pussy and he couldn't handle his own reality! Not everyone dies, just the quitters!

He was completely out-ethics and out-ruds! He should have listened to his auditor!

LRH is coming back! Look busy!

  • thanks for your candid reply narCONonseattle.

    ---->YOU are doing it RIGHT!

  • That you created!

  • The real reason that enguerrandm and other pro-Scientology posters are trying so hard to get their comments here is because they are extremely frustrated to see videos like this one come up on the first page for any YouTube search of "Narconon". Their own propaganda videos aren't nearly as popular.

But the more they rant, the more views and higher ranking this video gets, and the more people get to see Patrick Desmond's story.

  • The primary goal of Narconon is to COLLECT MONEY UP FRONT. Period.

If the patient "blows", or has a relapse afterwards, they just pretend it didn't happen while they write up their "wins", or more likely blame the patient instead of their own LRH-based quackery.

Just say no to drugs AND Scientology!

  • @angle

he died while still under the supervision of narCONon.

it doesn't matter to narCONon if someone sneaks out to get high, as long as the credit card is still active.

  • Hey enguerrandm, looks like all my comments were removed from the Narconon of GA video. I brought up too many inconvenient facts I guess. Haha.

At least Anon vids like this one allow comments from anybody, unlike Scientology, which just wants to feed people "acceptable truths" (known outside the CoS as "lies").

  • LOL - well, they're apparently not too busy "saving people" to spam up their own videos with positive comments while removing any criticism of their quackery.

But thanks for admitting that I won, since you couldn't provide any independent studies to back up Narconon's ridiculous claim of 70% success.

Just say no to drugs AND Scientology!

  • Well, just delete my comments too. So much for letting people with different points of view post.

  • What are you on about? I still see your silly comments in this thread.

    I think you're "mocking up a false reality". ;)

  • and where was your counselors when he left?

He was in a town he wasn't from, but yet he made it across town to buy drugs...hmmmm Want to tell us how he got there?

  • Our condolences to the family.

  • @mcahela

what the family deserves is an APOLOGY, not your condolences.

  • why do you come in here every few pages and repost this?

  • You are a cult

    You are killers

    You will answer for this

  • Gordon for someone in charge of such a great and busy rehab facility you sure do have lots of time to waste on youtube.

  • @gordon

any rehab facility worth its salt would make VERY SURE that their facility is locked down, and that no-one can

    "sneak out and use"

yes you can leave when you want, but the exit would be the front door, and there WOULD NOT be ANY WAY to "sneak in"

i mean really, you take peoples money yet its as simple as "sneaking out" and then back in?

sounds like more of an drug addict enabling facility than a rehab to me.

o,u better make sure no sauna gear is in there.

expect a visit by the state!

  • You are also not a legit rehab. You are a front for a failing cult

  • I knew Patrick for six months. He was an incredible person, loved sports.I really enjoyed talking about the championship game with the, CELTICS. I prayed to God that they would win out of respect for Patrick. As a former addict who worked with Patrick, he would be the first one to take responsibility

for his choice to relapse that caused his death. His treatment place morned his leaving, a beautifull service was held in his

    memory.

  • @ gordon.

why should patrick take responsibility for relapsing WHILE IN CUSTODY? shouldn't it be narCONon's responsibility to keep drugs out of the facility?

what kind of BS operation u guys run there!?

also,he "relapsed" into using a drug which he had no history using...hmm.

his "treatment place" was narCONon, a front group for the cult of scientology, but you know that, you run the place.

hubbard tech = more dead bodies.

    disgusting.

  • Dumbass! Drug Dealers = More Dead Bodies. Why do you attack a rehab yet leave the real cause-drug dealers and traffikers- unscathed? Cause you approve. Dumbass!!!

  • your such a bad little sock puppet

  • i approve of drug dealers.

    period.

  • thanks for your post gordon. all these 'facts' being thrown around and very little sanity to be found. as a struggling addict i do 'know' blame is a dangerous game.

  • It is a tragedy that Patrick died. My condolences to the family.

  • It is sad. It is also sad your facility didn't watch him better.

It's also sad you had sent your little scientology youtube army out to down rate these videos.

It's not to late you can leave. You can be free of the cult.

  • It is sad you feel the need to trash this video. All it does is state facts. He was in Narconon's care and he was looking for a way out from drugs.

  • I have yet to read how this individual died and why his death was the fault of Narconon.

  • @mar3lys

    you really should lurk moar.

    google:patrick desmond narconon

  • Anyone with intelligence will know I mean no disrespect in saying that as wonderful a person as Patrick obviously was, the saddest thing is that he was also an addict. I know..my son is an addict. I also know that he will be responsible for his own death, not a rehab facility. It has taken me 20 years to accept that very real fact.

  • @mar3lys.

after you google facepalm, which you really should do first.

    PLEASE then search these words:

    patrick desmond narconon

  • mar3lys: have you found out about what happened with Patrick yet? Do you still need someone to help you? I would be happy to oblige - no "clever internet language" will be used either since it bothers you. Reply here or PM if you're interested.

  • 'lurk moar' was an Internet term invented by US users!!!! Lurk is an ENGLISH word, look in the dictionary, and Moar is more, obviously!!!

    Lurk(slang):

To go online to read messages sent to an online discussion forum without contributing

  • While it's true that one cannot cause or cure the disease, one CAN contribute to keeping the disease going. The mind, body and spirit are made ill by addiction. It's a complex disorder (to put it mildly) How can a sick cult help a sick person heal? Sick families also have a way of keeping addicts in the disease. Naconon, sick at it's core, harms those who come for help. S/tology prey$ on the desperate. My son died as a result of a relapse back into his DISEASE. Where one gets help MATTERS.

  • Time and again, when Scientology spokespeople are called out on the cults' deceit, threats and demands for huge amounts of money, they whine "What about all the good work we do?" including Narconon. This video shows what Narconon is really about: drawing people into dangerous amateur treatments which can KILL. Condolences to Patrick's family.

  • All the uninformed pro-Narconon comments just underscore that Scientologists lose their ability to feel empathy and a sense of appropriateness after being trained in CoS principles.

It;s the same lack of sensitivity and tact that has Volunteer Vultures swooping down on VaHi students, Ground Zero workers and Katrina victims.

This is a eulogy for a dead young man, and Narconon's shabby pseudoscience and crap management policies are directly to blame for it.

Narconon is a cynical cash cow scam.

  • "All the uninformed pro-Narconon comments just underscore that Scientologists lose their ability to feel empathy and a sense of appropriateness after being trained in CoS principles."

Genau! And they all sound the same. The

reason being that they were all written

    by the same person...

  • what does 'CoS' stand for? thanks

  • Asked and answered already, but in case this was a "hit and run" comment, "CoS" is short for "Church of Scientology."

  • thanks. i do appreciate that explanation. there are no 'wrong questions'

    with the right attitude

just as there are no 'right questions'

    with the wrong attitude

and then this ignorant man asked: what is a "hit and run comment"?

  • How sad. :( Another cult victim. Sincere condolences to family and friends.

  • Aother victim of the cult this is why we fight the cult.

  • Amen bro.

  • narCONon...is one of many front groups for the Cult of $cientology. It's methods are ARCHAIC and not approved by reasonable, trained medical professionals. IT IS A CON designed to recruit new $cientology members from those in society that need help. IT IS A CON designed to take the money of families desperate for someone -anyone- to help them.

IT IS A CON AND WILL BE STOPPED.

    WE WILL WIN

    EXPECT US.

  • Did I see some Ether Cat? Huzzah!

  • His name was Patrick Desmond.

    His name was Patrick Desmond.

    His name was Patrick Desmond.

~ R.I.P. Pat, we fight in your name!

  • if narconon and scientology and all it's other bullshit divisions were eliminated, the world would be a much better place.

  • Hey, people die all the time and we at the Church(tm)(r)(c)(PatPend) don't care about human life: we got his money, and that's what is important. Move on already: we did.

  • Well Put.

  • this is horrible!!! patrick was a great guy and a good freind what happen to him was unfourtane it can happen to anyone and it is not narconons fault!!

  • KTG, bull. The whole "purif" thing narCONon does is dangerous, and can KILL (and has, not just Patrick). Spending many hours a day in a sauna and taking potentially fatal doses of Niacin is not the path to a healthy body. That some get better on the program is coincidence, not proof the program works.

Scientology taking advantage of someone in a mentally vulnerable state to try to get them hooked on the "tech", so Co$ can drain the victim's bank account is just sewage icing on the crap cake.

  • I agree. Anyone in NarCONon this could happen to you too.

  • The State of California threw Scientology's drug information program out of all public schools, where Scientology supporters had been able to introduce it because after a lenthy, professional investigation, it was concluded that the program was scientifically, unsupportable. The State of Hawaii followed suit.

  • Hey scilon regardless of weather he knew him or not there needs to be an investigation into why a patient died at one of your NARCONON facilities. I also don't see anything wrong with having a vigil for a victim of the Co$. A Patient dying at NARCONON is something I think the public has a right to know about.

  • Since no one has died in my care I think Karma is way more on my side than narCONon

  • lol, angry much?

OMG, watch out, 007 is going to make another bullshit video which ADMITTEDLY slanders! lol

  • You scilons just want to sweep his death under the rug so you can continue with business as usual. Have you ever considered that LRH was a quack and that's why people are dying? Maybe there should be some real professional scientific studies into Hubbard's Purification rundown, and see if can withstand real scientific scrutiny.

  • i'm pretty sure that people were dying b4 l ronald was even born

  • Yeah well Patrick died while he was in the care of Narconon, and that mean that they could be liable for his death.

  • ur right.

of course the point in that statement is that now, no-one will have a chance to meet him.

because of some twisted ppl who want MOAR money/power/control.

  • Is there anything these sick-fuck Scifientologist wont do to keep their Xemu secret a secret, which isnt a secret anymore. I think Xemu is the key. Once EVERYONE knows about Xemu NOBODY will sign up for Scientology. I am suprised they didnt kill the protesters in LA. They played loud music meant to damage their ears and harrased GAreth with a sign. That is called TERRORISM and this is called MURDER. Way to go Scifientology!!!! What next. What WILL you do next? You sick-fucks!

  • The "Xenu thing" is what they make make a lot of their money from. THe cat is out of the bag. look how they fought to keep it out of court and out of the public eye. That may have been one of the greatist blows to them. I agree people knowing about the disconnection policy is detremental as well. I say BUS TICKETS FOR EVERYONE!!!! to Clearwater!!!! for the upcoming future "superparty"!!!

  • Not hiding it, as much as flat out denying it. It's so sickening to watch representatives from the cult acting clueless when asked about their own core beliefs. Imagine a priest on tv saying 'Jesus? Who? Nailed to a wooden frame?? Get out of town silly!'

  • I have added this video to the crackpotsDOTorg web site.

  • R.I.P Patric

  • Good Night Sweet Prince.

Song is Avril 14th by Aphex Twin, by the way.

  • That was a very touching tribute to someone who was neglected and betrayed by Narconon of Georgia. Thank you Georgia Anons for having this event and making this video for all to see.

  • Someone remember this the next time Cruise and company say $cientology helps people and gets them off drugs.

  • WHY, WHY, WHY doesn't the authorities do something about this?

    Rest in Peace, Patrick.

  • rest in peace, patrick.

oh, my heart is sad for the whole family, but patrick was a twin. they have not only killed one man, they have also left his twin sister with only half a life!

    this cult! THIS CULT!

ANONYMOUS is doing the right thing. for the good of mankind we are battling this evil cult.

may there never again be another patrick for this cult to ruin.

cult, titim gan éirí ort! MAY YOU FALL WITHOUT RISING!

    WE ARE ANONYMOUS

    EXPECT US!

  • Rest in peace Patrick.

  • Rest in Peace Patrick Desmond, I didn't know him in person, but I know what it is like to loose a friend, a family member, or someone close.

  • Scientology kills.

  • Well done!

  • Free Xenu!

  • that's so sad :(

  • Narconon is the biggest CON of all the front groups of the CULT--this agency must be brought to the attention of the authorities! NON MEDICAL PERSONNEL ARE RUNNING THESE SO CALLED TREATMENT CENTERS!!!this is one of many horror stories associated with NarCONon!

SHUT THEM DOWN BEFORE MORE DEATHS OCCUR!!!!

  • that's hubbard "tech" for u.

the audacity to call this senseless mindfuck which does not have one supporting study "technology".....

  • Patrick's life was over too soon. Soon this cult will be done.

    Expect Us!

  • Wow! Very well put together! Very respectful!
