  • thank you for this. I eventually want to get a sugar glider, I could get one now if I wanted but I want to make sure I have enough knowledge about them and have done enough research before I go and make that commitment. I probably wont actually get one till maybe a year or two from now, but your videos are very informative. thank you again!

  • It is illegal to keep native animals in Australia,, they are a wild animal and you can only have these types of animals if you are a fauna rescue person,, trying to rehabilitate the animals and then release them back into the wild where they belong, these laws were put in place here for a reason, because they are not meant to be pets

  • i have an adult male sugar glider. My buddy adopted her around age 3 from someone who didnt understand what was required in the "Bonding" session. When he took control it took near 3 months untill he would leave his pouch with anyone in the room. Sadly my buddy couldnt handle the responsability and Peanut and I had formed a closer bond than anyone. he loved chillin on me for moments at a time. 2 years have passed, he has a room all his own. he comes out daily for exersize on his own will

  • @asidnation - sorry, my point is, as much bonding as we've done he just doesnt seem the type to enjoy relaxing on the shoulder of someone. Its almost as if hes curiouse of the room set up around him to jump and play. Im not worried nor would i ever ever give up or get rid of him. Just curiouse as to if this is a common thing that happens at a young age that has little sign of improvment as to having him ride along and perch with me.

  • Please reply this comment. Are sugar glider legal in Singapore?

  • UMMM UHHH UMMMM UHHH UMMMM

  • where do you get sugar gliders?

  • they have to be 8-12 weeks u r so full of crap and they live 12-15 years and the bonding is done to you when they are 8-12 weeks old

  • @jennyjen3045 No my good woman.. YOU are full of crap. I got 2 males who are already 1 and a half years from a women who could no longer care for them, and they do not crab at me nor bark during the night. They were already sleeping in the hood of my hoody and pockets and climbing all over me by week 2 with them. I can also pet and hold them while they're in their bonding pouch. Adopt a glider that needs a home! As long as they haven't been abused by the previous owner, they will be great pets!

  • hi thanks this really helps me im still thinking though wether to get one!

  • ty u for good information!!!! and i'm getting sugar glider tomorrow!!

  • ur the problem and if u get 1 sugarglider that means u just need to play with it more THAT DOESNT mean getting to stupid and u need to stop saying um um um um um um ummmmm ummm r u a retard of what

  • You've done an excellent job on these video's. !! Keep up the good work.

  • um um um um. all she says is um. i talked to a vet and everything she has said is untrue. I just got a sugar glider and this girl doesnt know what shes talking about.

  • k comeon people, for anyone over the age of like 14 these are easy to care for, the diet is the most complex part and its not even complex.

  • ppl stop being rude to her she is actually mostly correct most of u ppl think u know everything about sugar gliders you have no idea she can say um 1000 x that doesnt mean shes wrong for all you sayig the vet is better u have no idea he is part of ppp who sells sick gliders to ppl and thier diets on there site is all wrong

  • they can eat hard food by 8 weeks... nothing irrisponsible about that = /

  • For my personal comment, do NOT get them above 12 weeks.

8-12 weeks is the MOST important time for you to bond with YOUR new sugarglider(s). Otherwise it will be significantly harder for them to bond to you and for them to take you as their new primary parent.

  • just get a baby its better because if you get an adult it would be wondering where its old owner is and can die of sadness or missing them!

    --crista

  • what i heard is that you should get a glider at 8 weeks so that then you give it the milk so it thinks you are the mother. 16 weeks is a little to late.

  • a baby is a WAY better choice its easier to bond with them duh

  • i am in love with sugar gliders but i am not gay

  • that was a 16 umm'er

  • too much 'umm'

  • ethier she never changes her cloths or she did this all in one day!

  • she says um, alot.

    hahaha.

but this is very intresting and helpful.

    theyre very cute :)

  • I WANT ONE IVE WATCHED THESE VIDS A MILLION TIMES AND I HAVE SEARCHED GOOGLE A MILLION TIMES I KNOW WHAT IM DOING... NOW FOR THE WORST...I have to convince my mom...: 0

  • Well, you can't have one. Pets are a big responsibility!

  • im going to get a sugar glider, & i have a question. say if your just outside or something with your sugar glider on you & it jumps off, will it come right back to you or run away? please & thanks[:

  • only a well bonded sugar glider will come back to you.. otherwise 98% of the time it is gone. You should never take a glider outside unless you have had it for quite a while and it is extremely well bonded to you. However you can take your gliders outside in a bonding pouch with you ^.^

  • What's a "bonding pouch"?

  • It is a special pouch that has a zipper to keep it closed and a little screen window for the sugar gliders to see out of. There are many different types and they are a great way to bond with sugar gliders. You can buy them many places but the members of GliderCentral have some awesome ones! Suncoast sugar gliders also have bonding pouches suited for 1-2 gliders but you should always check pouches for loose threads that could get caught on your baby's toes.

  • OK, so it's a pouch from which it can be comfortable and enjoy visibility while getting used to its owner. The pouch prevents it from escaping, which is likely to lead to harm rather than "freedom". Correct me if my understanding is not quite right.

  • Yup that's right ^.^ You can wear the pouch against you so that they get used to your scent. It is a great start to the bonding process.

  • ohkay/?............. im getting one glider

  • Always get gliders in pairs or else they will get very lonely and possibly self mutilate. Also, most breeders offer a discount if you purchase a pair from them.

  • She says "um" a lot.

  • I have to say this - she is kind of sexy.

  • do sugar gliders bitealot if so y and how do you teach a sugar glider not to jump off your shoulder

  • You cant teach it not to jump off your shoulder. It will jump when it wants to jump. Also, all animals can bite, especially wild creatures. If you cant take biting try a stuffed animal.

  • That probably has to do with the fact that I don't have a video camera capable of making a decent video. Helping people only helps when you give accurate information. You also have to consider that what works for some sugar gliders does not work for others, which is why you need to get information from as many reputable sources and find out what works best for you and your fabulous pets.

  • This lady really doesn't know what she is talking about. Please send questions to freya_alexander at yahoo

I breed sugar gliders, and have 5 of my own. She makes them out to be a huge pain that they really aren't.

  • You sound like part of the problem. Eager breeders who make them out to be super easy to care for preying on naive owners to take their money and sending off these poor animals to unknowing people who wont care for them properly.

Just because you breed an animal does not make you educated nor does it mean you have the animals welfare in mind. You can get your dog from a puppy mill, dosen't mean the owners of the mill know about anything other than how to run a business.

  • I never said they were easy! I said they weren't the huge pain that she makes them out to be. Do you even pay attention to the things you comment on? I'm not an eager breeder, mine just breed because I don't want to put them through surgery. Again, I don't really make money on them. I sell them with everything they need to get started and info books for the cost of the supplies and gas it took me to get them. I would never sell them to someone that doesn't know what they are getting in to.

  • But I think it's better to prepare yourself for the worst. If you believe them to be "a huge pain" and you still make the commitment to purchase one and also educate yourself in caring for a sugar glider, then you truly do deserve it.

  • Isnt it better to discourage irresponsible breeders than encourage people by saying "oh they so cute theyre awesome theyre perfect?" Anybody who truly loves gliders isnt going to encourage people to get them. They arent pets for anybody.

  • see my video cinnomon sugar glider watch long video

  • All of the gliders in the videos I made are second hand rescued gliders, and you can see from the video, they are very sweet and tame.

  • Some people that sell gliders as "pocket pets" or "fur babies" have been known to sell gliders as young as 4 -5 weeks out of pouch. People should do research to find out what a baby looks like at 10 - 12 weeks Out of pouch so they know what they are getting. I think that Education about these cute little animals is the most important thing that you can do for them and yourself.

  • Never purchase animals from Pocket Pets. This company runs a breeding mill in FL and is know for their gliders having birth defects and health problems - as they tend to inbreed and overbreed. In other-words... Pocket Pets sucks!
