  • Hello there ! I am Kahori who made how to wear Kimono 6min video in Japan. As you know in Japan it is hard time because of the cataclysmic catastrophe. Our shop Sakaeya Kimono Shop and Me do wish to support people who are suffering then has started a charity sell please visit charity sell site(see my profile) if you are interested. 1 include the Kimono clip,. We can also sent only the obi clip to you it is around 2500yen with shipping fee. We will donate from your payment. Love K

  • :D I WANT AN OBI CLIP NOW!!! Tying the two ends of obi in a knot damages the obi, & it's always such a pain w/ so many koshihimo. I always thought an obi clip was just for keeping the Te in the front & out of way when tying the Tare.

  • Its just beautiful Ill buy one some day, a real one :)

  • My own kimono hasn't arrived yet, but it will be troublesome- I need about 10-15 minutes to put on a yukata!

  • I have worn a kimono once, this oby is very tight : )

  • @rozinhaleal That's the fun of it! Japanese corset! : D

  • This is amazing and everything is fine.... .... but....

what should I do if I have to go to the toilet?

especially after drinkin so much tea..... it's tooooo complicated!

    ;_;

  • I do believe you're not supposed to. 3:

  • @HlBlSCUS

Up it goes like a skirt, and you would wrap your sleeves around your arms. :)

  • such a cute voice <3

  • OH MY GOD! That's impossible to remember! I had difficulties just remembering how to put my shirt on & tie my shoe laces when I was little- I'd never be able to do that!

Kimonos are truly an art... but I think if I were any younger I'd prefer to be a tomboy than to try & figure out a kimono....

  • wow amazing!! art! it always fascinated me how does it look soo clean!

  • Ive seen a lot of these "how to" videos on this subject, and i still come back to this one because its my fav.

  • This is very help! I usually need about 20 minutes to put my kimono on. The obi clip looks so easy to use. I have one but didn't know how to use it until I saw your video. Thank you! Do you have another video wich is up right so we don't need to tilt our head. ^-^

  • troublesome.

  • *faved* Very good video.

  • Thank you for sharing ^__^

  • This Video helped me out a lot when I frist put my Kimono and Obi on. i just wish it wasn't filmed at that angle. Please make a new one but from the start of the slip or Juban?

    Thanks a bunch!!

  • のために その チュートリアル わたし ありがとうございました ( I hope I said it right ^^)

  • She did it in 6 minutes which I think is pretty good for that time. If she'd taken a little more time, perhaps she could have fixed the ohashori neater as well as the hem. I tend to take 10 minutes to dress just so I can do a kitsuke check and make sure everything is done neatly.

  • Before bad mouthing other people, just show us how YOU put on a kimono in merely 6 minutes !!!

    愚か者 !!!

  • Ohh how cute ^--^

  • Awesome

  • Arigato!

  • very interesting video, thank you for posting!

  • its left 2 right

  • wow, she is awesome

  • my neck hurts~

  • So complicated @_@

  • @bubbletease It looks that way until you try it.

  • Crikey, she made it look so easy!! I admire how a Japanese lady could WALK with those layers of clothing. The demo was rather fast though, and watching it sideways is a challenge to learn how to wear it. I just inherited a kimono, could anyone recommend another kimono wearing guide to watch?

  • Lol, and it was "just" a summer time yukata

  • no, the kimono in the video is a komon, townwear kimono, not yukata...

  • I have such respect for the women who wear kimono.Wonderful video!!

The off -balance- sideways- viewing while watching the perfectly balanced experience of dressing in a kimono makes the video very artistic and in tune with nature.

I read every single issue of your wonderful newsletter which is how I learned of this video. I agree with your newsletter comment that tv is almost a passe experience.

  • Wow! Thanks for the video it was very helpful.

  • This is a really great video on simple basics! Just wish it was right ways so I didn't get a crink in my neck, LOL! ^_^

btw- how long is your datejime?
