  • 2nd greatest scene, in movie. basement speech was best ! can't compare this to real life, c'mon, wtf ??? don't get me wrong, pbf, is a monster talent !! only thing is, pacman is better !! in ring, n outside it !! i respect pbfs talent, but hat the person. & cross my fingers, hoping to se the day he grows a set of balls, faces pacman, & gets knocked da F!!! OUT !!

  • u dnt even know what he says is true i am small and 2nd place silver gloves and there was sum 1 and we fought for the finals and he put me to the test and i knocked him out and hurt my hand and didnt fight the final....but self respect is all i needed and trust me this speech is gr8 for athletes to hear

  • I love the ROCKY movies so enough with the mayweather comparisons! and no ones running from pacquiao! floyd and de la hoya have had lawsuits against bob arum (pacquiaos promoter) for years for money that guy fucked them out of years ago. fuck pacquiao and arum. manny had to take the same "olympic" drug test for a fight 5 years ago and morales beat his bitch ass like he stole something floyds undefeated. whos running?

  • "baptism under fire"

-it's such a great line and this is such a great inspirational talk

  • Mayweather Jr. Should listen to this instead of continually running scared of Pacquiao.

  • @GuardianAngel5150 Amen to that.

  • @GuardianAngel5150 ya i would be quite afraid of someone who takes performance enhancing drugs as well

  • @OoLenny40oO Lol. you really believe that huh? Sad.

BUt whatever makes you (and mayweather sleep better at night when he's nto beating his girl over a stupid I Phone).

As the brothers used to say in High School? "he be runnin"

  • @OoLenny40oO then you get a gun and shoot him, or a knife. if your afraid to get hit, then don't get hit. I like this movie, but personally, i think boxing is stupid....unless you have no other financial options, then you become a boxer, and even then, you should only be one when you really want to. The idea of someone about to hurt you, and you only use your arms and fists is to protect yourself is just plain unreasonable to me.

  • @GuardianAngel5150 The Character Mason Dixon and Mayweather are so much alike its scary

  • @GuardianAngel5150 So Pacquiao is the good guy?

  • @GuardianAngel5150 Mayweather isn't running running from that steriod up Manny Pacquiao stop swinging on Manny's Nuts ya'll Pactards get on my nerves with all that bullshit! Comment on this clip not Manny and Floyd!

  • i think this is one of the top ten best speeches in all the rock y films, very mickey-esque.... i love it, its so true!

  • ALWAYS listen to a wise old man!!

  • i can skip almost like rocky from that part in burning hearts where he skips in that wooden house, where he'd stayed in russia to train

  • lol that guy had nice joke t end good one ha

  • self respect !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • To this day I never could see Mason as the antagonist, he is just a man who wants to fight with his heart like Rocky did. Both characters have high regards in my book.

  • @NuclearFist

Most def. Actually in many ways the character of Dixon mirrors both Tarvers real life and also Roy Jones Jr. Both great talents, unfortunately in their prime with nobody out there as good as them for them truly to be tested.

Its what made Rocky 6 great. A small semblance of real life

  • great speech and true

  • Great scene!

  • imo this is the best scene in the movie

  • what is he saying at 0.42?

  • 'cause that's baptism under fire

  • thnx

  • selfrespect...fantastic

  • inspirational

  • Comment removed

  • words of wisdom.....

  • heavy

  • The dude is a good boxer, but a bad actor.

  • Everytime I watch this scene I can't stop looking at his big fucking yellow/orange nose.

  • is that carl weather ie appollo creed from rocky one

  • mason's coach reminds of balboa's coach....

  • and Balboa's coach is Apollo's old coach :D

  • overwhelmend by white paua

  • thanks for posting... one of the best scenes in the movie, reminds me of mickey, very underrated.

  • can someone help me?? what does he say at 0:13 ?

  • pride is what got ur ass outta here, and losing it is what brought you back

  • your as about as wanderlei silvary ass chuck liddels knob cheese.

  • one of the great scenes in this movie, stallone delivered nicely

  • Mason "the line" Dixon.

  • Marvin reminds me of Mickey

  • best part of the movie... made a huge impact on my life when I thought of these lines

  • i absolutly agree... my favoirite scene of the movie... great life lesson

  • c when he had his entrance in da rocky film wat song was it palying?????????

  • The song is It's a Fight by Three 6 Mafia

  • thankyou

  • great scene, acting, writing, and lighting period.

  • i love so much the movie! i love Rocky, Mickey, Adrian and Apollo Creed !

Rocky Balboa, you are fantastic! LOVE U

  • Gotta love this part... he's right about the only respect that matters in this world...

  • Another great scene in this awesome movie!

  • I love this part. You can say whatever you want about Tarver, that guy is a decent actor, period

  • I like this scene a lot. It really helps to give Rocky's opponent character, and not just make him some loud mouhted egotist like Clubber Lang was. Mason Dixon is shown to be a human in every sense of the word, but as a victim of his own success, he is misunderstood and lacks true respect for himself because of it. His plight is very sympathetic IMO, and despite being Rocky's opponnent of the sixth movie, he's not an antagonist.

  • you bet man. this is confirmed right in the end of their fight.

  • @FirstTsurugi06 Well said. I couldn't agree more. It seems to me that the sport of boxing today is just not the sport that recognize from our generation. We need more boxers like those of yester year: Marveleous Marvin Hagler, Sugar Ray Leonard, Michael Spinks, Larry Holmes, and many others from the early days of boxing on H.B.O Sports, which desreve mentioning which i don't recall. And yes " Mike Tyson", although in my oppinion he was more of a knockout artist than boxer.

  • @FirstTsurugi06 yery well put

  • @FirstTsurugi06 I so agree with what you said. It was like the 1st Rocky movie. both Apollo Creed and Dixon Hill were not 1 dimmensional characters. They had depth and emotion and you felt for them. Mason is a young fighter looking for a challenge and he finds one with Balboa. He's not simply the Villain. you feel for the guy even sympathize with him. This really shows Stallone's ability as a talented writer.

  • @FirstTsurugi06

Yeah. Rocky III and IV were about making the other guy this evil kind of character. Humanizing Mason Dixon was a wonderful touch to the script. I wouldn't have enjoyed the last Rocky if they made Mason into a cocky disrespectful loudmouthed punk.

  • @FirstTsurugi06 Just like Floyd Mayweather Jr is a victim of his own success"

  • My favorite part of the movie.

  • Great movie! Awsome fight with Dixon and Balboa as well. But at the end of the day Apollo would have out boxed Dixon, Clubber Lang would have Knocked him out and Drago would have DECAPITATED the poor fucker!

  • amen

  • haha soo true!

  • I agree with you guys. Best opponent of all his movies.

  • anyone know the name of the song off his entrance music?and who its by? 'hit em with the left, hit em with the right' ??

  • It's called "It's a fight" by Three 6 mafia

  • I watch this EVERY MORNING to hype myself up

  • great quality

  • rocky balboa rules what other films can have scenes like this no othet is the awnser

  • This scene made Mason Dixon a unique character in comparison to Rocky's other opponents. Every other opponent Rocky faced, they were these monsters but Dixon wanted to prove something to himself and that's why I liked the fight between Rocky and Dixon very much.

  • Yea this is the only classy opponent in the series. Apollo Creed was cocky and arrogant until he lost on part 2, Clubber Lang was a psychopath, Drago was juiced on steroids, and Tommy Gunn was a sellout. I agree.

  • This is actually one of my most favorite parts of the movie!!

  • " Self Respect "

  • great clip cant wait to see it!

  • cool

  • If you like this clip, please rate it, thanks.
