@mudhudgie95 Both of these bikes are exceptional because they pedal very well, yet they can handle abusive terrain as well. That said, it sounds like you might prefer from the lighter weight of the Mojo SLR if you stick mainly to easier trails. In reality, the SB-66 might just be too much bike most of the time. As for the durability of the carbon, it's just not an issue.
I am seriously considering the SB-66 and the Ibis Mojo SL-R. I do mainly easy going single track trails with average sized rocks on mostly flat ground, but want to be able to do more hardcore tracks every so often since I live only 2 hours from Moab. I want a bike to last for over a decade since I am not fully hardcore and don't care about keeping up with the Jones. I am kind of worried about the carbon fiber on the SL-R over time and for the occasional hardcore use it would endure.whichone?
i am liking this style of bikes right now i watched a different video i believe on yetis site and a yeti rider was using a coil shock on this bike which i tend to really like as i love downhill riding but dont want a full dh bike
@Justinoka The size medium test bike that I rode weighed almost 29lbs. You could expect that a production model with full XTR and a smart wheel/tire choice could be in the 27 pound range.
Hey all, the frame with rear shock is 7 lbs. Target weight for the carbon version is 6 lbs. As for the better bike, it's subjective... Currently the SL-R is lighter, does that make it better? To some and that's fair. The SB-66 has more relaxed steering geometry that makes it better on rough descents. Is that better? To some it would be. Both bikes pedal really well... I'd say a match in that regard, and they have a similarly responsive suspension under pedal load.
@ryanola72 glad to see you guys starting to respond to videos ... please dont stop this is a great media to give feedback! While you are here is the SL-R capable of at least 80% of what the HD can ride
@trenttyre I'd say it is. I rode a Mojo for years, and it's a great bike. The addition of the tapered steerer and thru-axle rear on the SL-R makes it even more confidence inspiring. It's stiffer too, so that always helps make it more precise when muscling it through rocky terrain. The SL-R is going to be a great bike, but IMO the 140mm of rear travel runs out pretty quickly compared to the extra travel on the HD.
should have had the camera still as the bike rode past so you could see the suspension n all that..cool website tho I really like it

@ryanola72 Thanks. Can you describe the 3 settings on the SB 66's rear shock? what mm travel settings do the 0, 1, and 2 give you?

pity you couldn't get a real rider and trail to test it.. no air..? not a single drop off..? any bike would ride well on that terrain..

I asked Competitive Cyclist and Wrench Science which bike is better? Yeti SB-66 or Ibis Mojo SL-R? Both places said Ibis Mojo SL-R.

7lbs is just the frame and shock.
philberesford75 8 months ago
7 lbs??? Not for weight weenies? Did you mean 17? Even that would not be bad at all!
JMMAppleWorld 8 months ago
@JMMAppleWorld he meant just the frame and shock ... which is kind of heavy but like he said the carbon will shave a pound off that.
