  • These guys are amazing, I've loved this song since it's release and I've loved them for about the past 6 years... But this is talent, and I love it!

  • Represents everything Johnny Rotten seems to hate. Serve him well!

  • brilliant!

  • Outstanding version

  • Feel ...............

  • THIS IS AMAZING

  • GOOD JOB!! THANKS!!

  • This is a joke. In a good way. The hardcore Pistols fans (I would consider myself a fan, though perhaps not the most adamant in the world) can't take a joke. Given the snarky smartassdom that defines the band, you'd think people would appreciate this.

  • THESE GUYS RUCKN FOCK

  • GOOD COMMENT

  • THIS WAS A GREAT SONG

  • Rock was based on country and blues...these guys are just taking it full circle. Johnny "I can't believe it's English butter" Rotten would probably like it too.

  • hahhaha

    Yeee Haaaaa

Very good... the guy taht said it was an insult, i thing i know nothing about the pistols.... not even them were serious about there songs... they were just playng.... this song and this band its better than that group of ``punks``

  • That'[s what they said about you too boy

  • Nicely done, with both respect to the original and a touch of humor. Gives a new dimension to the song.

  • Some like, some don't...personally, I like. I appreciate all music at times. And this proves that nothing is scared. Well done Hayseed. The original made me rock, this one actually made me think. :))

  • this is blasphemy! dam hillbillies.

  • Great cover!!!

  • excellent

  • this is funny

  • takes the anthem element right out...

    awful

  • its fucking shit thats it

its not even a laugh...its just sad

  • han va ju fulare me kort hår än långt, han har ju förstört sig!

  • not my style, but gotta say that it's so fucking original... lol

  • This version is the most unexpected thing I've seen in my life!

    Good, indeed.

  • I LIKE THIS COVER !

  • Don't know why everyone is arguing about the Sex Pistols... Their song is GREAT and this is a GREAT cover!

  • I've loved hayseed Dixie for a couple of years now.

It shouldn't be possible to turn this song into a bluegrass ballad. Just shows how much talent these chaps have got!

  • Thats fucking excellent!!!

  • Finalmente una cancion de los Sex Pistols suena bien, Hayseed Dixie hace un a excelente version de una mierda de banda como Sex Pistols

  • fuck off those asshole!

sex pistols was (and is at today) the best punk rock!

    no ironic to sex pistols!

  • Blah, the Sex Pistols were the first designer boy band... That's not anarchy, that's business...

  • I give those titties two thumbs down!

  • yes you country cunts.... canny good.

  • actually.

  • AHAHA!! I'd like to ask John lydon what he thinks about this cover! :D

  • watt the hell are these hillbillie twats doin there ruining a great song sung by the greatest british punk rock band there ever was "the SEXPISTOLS" GOD SAVE THE QUEEN

the sex pistols may not have been good and had a not so good bass player but they got there point across in a very good way

  • Morris Minor Threat!

  • the sex pistols and the clash were totally shit public school twats this is a very funny take on what was a complete con at the time

  • why the fuck would you comment on this then? i guaran fucking tee that the sex pistols influenenced who ever it is that you listen to. the sex pistols never wanted fame but they sure as hell got it. fuck you buddy

  • No, the band was started by malcolm mclaren because he wanted to manage a punk band after returning from NYC. He formed the sex pistols, and then they kicked out their first bassist and replaced him with Sid Vicious, who couldn't actually play bass, but was image correct for the band. Sorry, the Sex Pistols were fashion punks. Not that british punk isn't amazing, the Sex Pistols just sucked balls.

  • really though they stood for punk yeah they werent the best i will give you that put they ar up there.

  • yeah, the pistols were basically hacks, but i still think they had some catchy shit. you can't say any of this about the clash, though (like the other guy did).

  • The Pistols were not started by McLaren. They were formed before Malcolm went to NY, and he only became their manager on his return. The famous Vivienne Westwood 'Love/Hate' T-shirt - featuring 'Kutie Jones and his Sex Pistols' - (the first mention of the band's name in print) predates Malcolm's trip, all the proof you need. The band then consisted of Jones, Cook, Matlock & Wally Nightingale. Kutie Jones incidentally was Jones' stage name when he was the singer before Rotten joined in Aug 75.

  • spot on, man.

  • Actually the Sex Pistols were thoroughly working class youths (or football hooligans). The band was not started by Mclaren, he only agreed to manage the band as it would mean Steve Jones (guitarist) would stop stealing from his shop.. and it was Mclaren that ultimately ruined the pistols.

The Clash on the otherhand did go to public schools...

  • Not one to piss on ya fire Column 111, but John Lydon is of a public school background. :)

  • He grew up in a council estate in Finsbury and went to a catholic school (typical when your parents are irish immigrants). Joe Strummer from the clash on the other hand DID go to a fee paying boarding school

  • the sex pistols and the clash were totally shit public school twats this is a very funny take on what was a complete con at the time

  • from the rock & roll hall of fame website (in which the clash has been inducted):

"Quite simply, the Clash were among the most explosive and exciting bands in rock and roll history. They played a major role in creating and defining the punk movement. If the short-lived Sex Pistols were glorious nihilists, then the Clash expressed punk's impassioned political conscience. Their explosive, uptempo punk-rock manifestos were unleashed with pure adrenaline and total conviction."

  • This version is the most unexpected thing I've seen in my life!

    Good, indeed.

  • You bunch of geeks.... if they did a version of this song that was exactly the same as the sex pistols original what would be the point? you might as well just listen to the original... BTW Hayseed and the Pistols are both gods of what they do..

  • jajajaajajjaa

  • this is fucking awesome!!

cant beat a good bit of cheesy sing a long

  • the sex pistols were going for 2 years, my band's been going for 2 years

  • That's well funny! Actually works in it's own right, never I thought I'd hear the Pistols sang as a country song!!

  • by the way I like this version i was only giving a reply to the drugs bollocks

  • rockstars who cared about drugs?

you arsehole, sid was the only one who used drugs (heroin anyway)and he was fuck all to do with the music, they were already the sex pistols we all know long before he came along, they changed the whole music buisness

with one album, which still sounds as fresh as it did 30 years ago,

artschool? steve jones did'nt go to any fuckin school

  • the sex pistols suck ass they were bullshit

rockstars who cared more about drugs then they did their music

  • I agree, Johnny Rotten even thinks punk is dead! My band have been going longer than the sex pistols did. And if he would even go to a punk show or check out a label like hellcat then he'd be so wrong.

  • this is so good but the sex pistlols are better and will always be the best punk rock band

  • kieranblacker

this is so good but the sex pistlols are better and will always be the best punk rock band

Correction the Clash was the better of the punk bands, the Pistols just started the british punk scene.

  • Very good version, although Pistols stuff was meant to be sung harshly :P

  • What a fuck up

  • sex pistols were a bunch of art school arses... the clash were the best british punk band of that era, real working class hero's... this is far better than the sex pistols version

  • this song demands speed.

  • Pistols were never a "stupid punk band" they are fucking amazing!!

  • no. they suck

  • Americans don't understand the 70's/80's British punk thing. you had to be here.

  • perhaps its the same thing with Brits understanding the 80s hardcore scene?

  • you're probably right!

  • First of all, John looks a bit like Hoss from Bonanza with the cowboy hat on.

Second of all, great song, great video, great reminder of how far (or maybe, how far we haven't) gotten since the days of the Holocaust and E/W Germany and the Cold War and WW1/2

  • I'm amazed at how well this works!

    Thanks for posting

  • this is great

in some ways shows the pistols were really good songwriters and not just some stupid punk band

  • it was good, not as good as the sex pitols but good.

  • bull shit!

  • freakin gay idiot

  • original was good and this is a great interpration. Enjoy it for what it is. Its different - enjoy it

  • Musical Parody at it's best! It's the Pistols meets Deliverance...kinda....8-X

  • pistols were heroine abusers, this one here is great !

  • why the fuck would you say somethng like that only sid vicious was no one else they all wanted him to stop rotten would lock him in rooms for weeks at a time to get him off it

  • PISTOLS ALL OVER THE PUNKS

  • I thought it was alright actually! I prefer the Sex Pistols version by miles but still.

  • i stopped at 00:20 that was horrible

  • Why did I just watch that shite?

  • This is shite.

  • AWESOME :D it is unbelievable how songs can be played in many many different ways :D great!

  • Kudos to The Dixie for evangelising god's own musical vernacular but - ARGH! How I wish they'd done this particular song at full kilter!

Incidently, anyone sensing a slight epiphany at the musicianship / idiom should search 'Alison Krauss' for the consummate stairway to heaven...

  • That comment was intense.

  • A smile, that you were moved to comment %")

  • Without a doubt, the best Pistols cover....EVER

  • AWESOME

  • Off to see these guys tonight in Glasgow. Saw them play in Foress or somewhere up North of Scotland last year and they were amazing. Looking forward to it even more this time round.

  • Couldn't agree more, spiderwell. Sex Pistols couldn't have played with this much skill if their nuts depended on it.

  • lol, well put :)

  • great video - all you haters go fucking watch something else!

  • Get a life you redneck hicks..Having to cover a classic punk rock song over 25 yrs old? wow...

  • FFS...Cant you rednecks write your own music? Having to cover something written over 25 yrs ago, is pretty bloody sad..

  • wow.

you know nothing because theyve done more original music than you ever will.

  • and check out your creativeness KiwiRebel, all you can do is slag off talent, reeks of jealousy

  • one word kiwi, twat!,sex pistols classic? on your planet maybe, try lookin into the background of Dixie b4 youu get your bondage straps in a knot, these guys can play like mofo's,and hey, they kick ass live,so maybe b4 you shoot off your gob, you'll realise that its all bout havin a goodtime, you want to get with the program bud, have a brew, kickback n relax

  • this is really good, their new album seems more poppy, lookingfor bucks with this one, but this song is great. Going to see them for the fourth time woooot :D

  • Brilliant

  • I want the banjo Reno's cap.

  • That'll be The Reverend Don Wayne Reno's cap then !

    d:oP It is a fine hat !

  • Yep, he's preaching the gospel of Lord Angus!

  • John Wheeler. You have a crazier wardrobe than I do! THAT is an acheivement. Great cover. A MILLION times better than the original - didn't even like this song until now. Cheers, guys.

  • It appears as though they have now achieved a "disposable" income. LOL

  • Huh? I'm sure you never heard the original, you hick..

  • Hah, like the Sex Pistols are some big secret. The biggest secret about them is that they were a "Boy Band", a bunch of hacks put together by Malcolm Mclaren based on the image they had, and, more importantly, the image he could drape upon them. There was a lot that was real and vital about early punk rock, but the Sex Pistols were a joke then, and they are a joke now.

  • oi, leave it out lol, it doesnt matter what the managers intentions were, those 4 boys played some great music, sex pistols never took themselves seriously but then again that was the spirit of punk rock, doesnt mean they are a joke though

  • My favourite Hayseed Dixie Cover d:oD Wonderful !
