I came through Seoul three time during the war in 1950. But never seen it looking like this. It's BEAUTIFUL., is great seen freedom, works in other places.
I really love living in Seoul but it's still a long way behind Tokyo and Hong Kong as a vacation destination. The tourism industry here is practically non-existent and not particularly easy on those who don't speak some Korean. They should invest more heavily in it.

the similarities between korea and japan are eerie similar language similar architecture similar economy and similar people. i love the Japanese and the Koreans they make up some of my closest friends. can't wait to go there
@judoisoww No offense, I'm not sure about the architecture or economy. But the South Korean language is wildly different from Japanese, both in written and spoken form. Also, I think socially the countries have some signifigant differences.
@kai001 Among other things too. Although they're both Asian countries, they both traditionally use chopsticks to eat and both Korea and Japan have characters borrowed from Chinese. They are in reality very different countries. :)
@kai001 people most of my friends (many of whom are japanese and korean) like both forms of pop this isn't saying they are the same by any means i am merely saying they follow a similare pattern further more both countries have similare social beliefs on family and work ethic for example. my OPPINION is formed on my own experinces and research i am not saying they are the same they just have alot of pleasant similarities this is affirmed by my korean and japanese friends who hold a similare view

Even early European explorers maps its called "Sea of Corea" or " East Sea"
Japanese used their influence during the last century to change it. Korea will change it back.

really? i hear that a LOT. well... mixed views on that matter, but they all seem to agree on the fact that koreans doesn't like people that are NOT koreans, especially dark people. i wanna go, but im not sure if i should. but it is however provoking, so i almost wanna go just for the hell of it.

@TheCarlScharnberg Haha. It's Asia. We all hate each other over there. And about dark skin, yes, it's true, many asians in NEA & SEA have mixed feelings towards people with a dark tan. However, if you go as a tourist, you won't notice any of this.

@TheCarlScharnberg Apart from that, some people like caucasian folk, others don't. It very much depends on personal experiences & sometimes sex. preferences. You see, most white folk in S. Korea or the Phils. are U.S. Americans. Now, these guys don't very often respect the culture or history or even the people in their host countries. So, people who're frequently confronted with them in Asia, tend to not like white people. Apart from that, the value system in the west is different from Asia
