Looks like pretty decent housing. Def. better than what my family is living in now. We are currently at Yokota and we live in an unrenovated home and lemme tell you it's awful. We're moving to Okinawa soon, supposed to be stationed at Kadena, but I hear that they're doing a lot of renovations so living on Camp Foster might be an option as well as off base housing. Have you viewed any homes off base and what is your opinion of off base housing? I have two little ones and two dogs.
i lived on kadena as a child. i lived in the old housing that looked like single story, concrete slabs. you would not happen to have video of the old housing on kadena would you? it would really mean allot. all of our photos of okinawa were destroyed in a hurricane.
Thanks so much for posting these video tours! My husband is in the Army and gets out of his training school next week. He's in the signal corps and we'll be moving to Okinawa soon! I was really grateful for the sneak peek of the housing! With just the three of us (we have a 9 month old son) we should be staying in an apartment like your other video! (im assuming....) Thanks again for posting!
Yes, that's where we lived before I gave birth to our second child. It wasn't terrible housing, but it's really dated and Japanese (no carpet, green tile, etc). You always have the option to live off base too. If you can afford it, I highly recommend it.
@funnytoni it does not look like theres a screen and i was going to say whi cares a baby cant reach but i do see the concern! the crib is right next to it i would personally move the crib
i dont really care if marrine house is better than airforce well my hubby is in airforce i just want to be with him more important is family complete even we leaving in the worst house all matter is wehappy and love eachother !!!!
Don't get too excited! Most of the housing is O.K. but the alternative to this house was something I wouldn't dare put my children in. The sad part about this beautiful, new housing is that despite the fact that it's on a Marine Corps base... It's occupied mostly by Air Force families. But some of my Marine Corps friends say that Air Force housing is a dream out here compared to what you guys get in the states. Being marriend and having kids makes it easier for you to get better housing too.
LOL you're funny. We don't even know where to come up on rims out here I bet if we did, it would be horrible expensive too. Besides, you know Matt likes a sleeper! His car is off the chain quick! At least he gets to drive it off base everyday now that we live on the Marine Corps base. Did you like the house?
My buddy / former co worker's wife is in the Army . Well he was telling me living on base aint all that great , didn't go into details .

the US military presence in okinawa is a sorry regime of racism, pollution, and rape of local schoolgirls.

The window in the nursery looks like it didn't have a screen. Very dangerous.

I lived in the towers on Camp Foster back in 1992. There was no ferris wheel back then. That's new.
