louis ck makes stand up look easy, like anyone could just pull off his routine. but that's because he's a master at what he does. he just flows and like that guy said a lot of work was put behind the joke but you dont even notice and it look like he's just spitting stuff out like nothing.
@xSmashHeaven Well put. Much goes back to the 10,000 hour rule Malcolm Gladwell speaks about repeatedly in his book "Outliers". Greatness comes over time, through persistence, and with much experience and refinement. Louis CK embodies that. That's why Capture Your Flag is focused on Near Peer Learning - showing up and coming leaders by interviewing them annually and comparing and contrasting stories. Learn as they develop over time and accumulate those 10,000 hours. - Erik
@zarthered I think of Carlin as a craftsman and an artist (which none of the others I listed are). He wrote his bits, and then practiced them relentlessly, and recited them in front of the audience word for word. He was an artist, in that he could do his comedy that way and STILL make you laugh your ass off.
But his subject matter was still quite populist. I forgot to mention Bill Burr. His stuff on race is really brave. Expecially when he delivers it with a shaved head.
@zazeify I respectfully disagree with your opinion on Carlin being a populist. Carlin was early with criticizing sensitive matters e.g. religion, which at the time was anything but populist. Even today many comics avoid the matter (maybe David Cross is the exception even if i'm not comparing him to Carlin).
@evange03 Yeah haha, If anyone was fearless it was George Carlin.. Doug Stanhope is pretty fearless also haha. He's still alive also. But Bill Hicks is my favorite.
He just described the creative process. What he said applies to science, art, socializing or even taking a shit. Once a person becomes aware of the creative process then they will realize they can be a master at anything.

Louis CK gives everyone a boner. This guy, you, and even me. I don't have a penis but when I watch Louis I swear a penis just pops up.

The face this interviewer makes at 1:18 reminds me of the face my mom makes when I tell her how I'm liking my new job so far.

No joke I've heard of a couple of people who were inspired to become stand-up comedians just by listening to Louis CK.

Louis CK is fearless. And there's only a few others. Bill Hicks. Lenny Bruce. Richard Prior.
