hey man im a proud owner of a accord 89 lx and i give everybody props who owns 1 or wants 1. its the best car i have ever owned and i picked it up 4 50 bucks, believe that.
I got a 89 Accord ex.. Nevet thought it would be so damn good! Handles well, No rust, Noting wrong with it.. Not a speedonster, but goes pretty well for the age! Was racing a MB e230.. Guess who won(me) :P Never gonna sell it. If im. buying a new car, this baby will stay! Love this car!
As a hardcore Honda owner, I will tell you that when it comes to manual transmissions, there's not a make out there whose shifters are as smooth and slick as those built by Honda. Honda is the car company that put the fun in driving a stickshift!
@thenextdogwhisperer He does OK- I just wonder why some drivers find it necessary to row through all the gears when coming to a stop. In my mind all that does is wear "things" out that much quicker. Personally, if I'm rolling up to a red light I simply let 5th slow me down until it's easy enough to pull out of 5th without the clutch (floating). See, that saves all those synchros, linkages, bushings, clutch cable/master cylinder/slave cylinder,throw-out bearing, pivot arm, clutch fingers, etc.
i just got a 89 Accord from my dad. It has about 150,000 miles. It got broken into, and the air conditioning controlls part of the dash got ripped off and broken. Its leaking oil into the anti-freeze because of a broken head gasket, and the front bumper hit a pole and was ripped off. But it is still good haha. Just about the only real problem is that since the head gasket is broken, im wasting gas because it still pumps gas into that cylinder.
I have 50,000 miles on my 2002 Accord LX. It used to belong to some old lady who hardly ever drove it. It's still in perfect condition although it is now dirty as hell. I'd wash it but, it's kinda pointless since it's winter and it's gonna rain in 2 days. So far, all I've done to my car is put those window things on it and change the hubcaps and tires.
There's just something so perfect about them, the shape, the interior design.....lots of other little things. Just pure nostalgic Honda when they were at their best. I'm going to get one for myself. Just from these videos I can tell the engine is so nice, I'm glad you agree. Congratulations on your beautiful Honda.
@noopsky13 $700?!?! Wow, thats a steal. Im having trouble finding one ofr less than $2000. Well, these older Accords are hard to find no matter what the price.
so thats what my car would look like if it were nice lol. love it though, best 500 bucks i ever spent. that thing runs like a top! and i see that you have that problem with the blinker switch too lol
I had a 1988 Accord DX. I got her when I turned 15. She was my " learning to drive car ''. I loved that car. It was an automatic although I actually did want a stick. I took such good care of that car. I washed her every weekend. I took her for service every 3,000 miles. I drove to Colorado and Nevada. She was in 1 accident. It involved a fence. No damage, thank God. I've had that car for 12 years and 120,000 miles. She had 111,000, now she's got as of today, 135,352.7 miles.
I have this car. Just hit 70,000 on the original engine. Tinted windows. Coil overs. 17" racing rims. Inside neons. After market tail lights. After market exhaust. Working on a custom cold air intake for it. New head unit. Replaced all speakers. This car is alot of fun to work on
it was there already when i bought the car, the previous owners had poorly sealed it, i didnt know about it until one day i started leaking oil real bad
Aw! That sucks! They sold you a "lemon." I had the same thing happen to me when I bought my '89 CRX SI, and this was from an alleged respectable dealership.
RIP my 89 honda accord... you will be missed

1:30 - I love the sound of late 80's, early 90's Honda engines. The "golden era" for the marque.

My '87 runs great with 277k.
Love the carb.
I like driving it more than I did my '89 SHO.
Can't figure out how to tilt the wheel though, I just know it has to :P
talon': They're 'safer' that way.

is there a lever under the steering wheel that u can pull or push it if it does pull it and u should b able to tilt ur wheel
1turbohonda 2 years ago
Yes haha, I discovered that some time ago, I prefer it greatly to modern adjusters. Thank you, though.
:)

see the a pillars are so small why have cars of today have such thick a, b and c pillars?
talonsbrutus 2 years ago
@talonsbrutus its coz of safety, thats why cars were so great and light before

Well in our state on the driving test you get a point if you stay at the lights in1st pressing the clutch for more than 15 sec.
Put neutral and handbrake on unless you really know you'l get yellow/green in a moment.
And no one-hand steering.
But it's just our rules. These are different everywhere.
