PS3 is at the top of the food chain, the apex predator if you will, so it gets the best exclusive hack and slash.

360 is runner up with its fairly good exclusive hack and slash.

Wii is bottom of the food chain, the fodder. It has a terrible exclusive hack and slash. With the only bad Soul Calibur I can think of to date. The rest of the SC games are excellent, not this one.

I understand that in SC2 Siegfried WAS consumed by Nightmare/Soul Edge. in SC3 thy're seperated being that Nightmare was comrprised of the memories of Soul Edge, and fragments. SC4 same deal, but in SC1 Nightmare and Siegfried are seperate. Unless then too Nightmare was a creation of Soul Edge. As I know that Inferno is actually Soul Edge incarnate, it's will.

the story is seigfried had soul edge but got rid of it. Soul edge then created nightmare. So nightmare isn't really a human but something created by soul edge. Nightmare fights like seigfried a little because of how seigfried fought when he welt soul edge.

In the first game, Soul Blade, there was no Nightmare, just a young Siegfried. After obtaining Soul Edge, Siegfried becomes possessed by it and becomes nightmare, as he is seen in SC1 and 2.

If any game imo went back a step in the series it was SC4. Good graphics but the stage design was no where near as good as the past soul caliburs. Music didnt match the stages and the intro was THE worst of the series by far. But i did enjoy the game but only for its online which ill give it credit for.

To me SC3 was a step forward. It improved greatly and everyone got their CLASSIC designs from SC1 plus there remix tunes from it. Instead of boring old stattic pic endings they are fully animated just like SC1 and soul blade. Plus theres more replayability than SC2 and 4. Mission mode, tournaments plus other stuff. I respect ur opinion but i feel SC3 when back to SC1 and Soul Blade roots and i like it better than SC2 and SC4.

Close. Siegfried is quicker, does less damage, and is a good guy.

Nightmare is the badass, slow, heavy-hitting, killing machine, and is a bad guy.

But most of their moves are similar, Siegfried's is stance-based, while Nightmare's is more barbaric and pshycotic.

So yes, you can say they are "basically" the same.

Nightmare was at his best in SCII. In 3, he was a bit too small, and his design was...Not suiting to his character.

And he's overdone in SCIV, I know he looks awesome in part 4, but they didn't exactly stick to his "Azure Knight" theme. They turned him into a monster.

I think there are three types of nightmares the weaker nightmare is siegfried's nightmare since he was consumed by soul edge the so-so nightmare is called the perfect nightmare which is the on in sc3 and sc legends who has its raw power alone without a host and the strongest nightmare that I only see was in sc3 and his name is night terror who is siegfried's nightmare mixed with the raw power of the perfect nightmare and the full power of soul edge to make a monster that will kill anything
