i totally get that, i saw a scene the other day where a character overdoses and is taken to hospital and it really upset me, had major flashbacks it was pretty awful! i wonder if it will ever stop being so upsetting/triggering?
I've seen that program before...It amazes me sometimes how insensitive shows can be to these kinds of issues. I definitely think they need to be notified about it. That's horrible and I'm sorry it affected you in that way. Take care.
That's horrible what they were making fun of; I have a pretty good sense of humor about things but some things I can't...I just can't. I would have probably had a similar reaction. You're such a sweetheart and you don't deserve those overwhelming feelings of guilt. I'm almost never able to see a trigger coming, I'm not even sure what triggers me half the time.
Yeah, movies and tv can be very triggering for me too sometimes. I've learned to kind of shut my head off when I sense that something triggering is coming.
BTW... Looks pretty amazing wherever you are. :) I'm in the midwest and it's super frigid!

@AshaSaisRawr I don't want to be re-triggered though. Just seeing other parts of the movie would upset me at this point.

Breakdown ... and bit of "repair"/maintenance work, and things are much better again.
Try not to sweat it too much.
And yeah, no accounting for taste - e.g. in TV shows.
Upset/angry at them - "how dare they?"
If you want, maybe write them a letter ... just draft it first,
review/edit it when you're more calm and composed - still want to send it - do so.
Physical mail gets more attention - emails easier to ignore/delete, than stacks/bags of letters piled on the desk - not so easy to ignore.
