i have this version along with ABC's extended cuts of 2 and 3 on vhs still. i keep them locked up in a plastic case for protection since you can't find the abc versions anywhere. Years ago, you could find the abc extended cut of II on ebay all the time. The ABC cut of 1 had a lot of deleted scenes that weren't even in the 2001 or 2006 boxsets. example, after Lois is almost mugged, you see her and clark get into a cab. You also, have Brad and lana talking in the car before clark beats them home.
is there any way you could make a copy of that for me and I'll pay you for the materials and your time.....via PayPal or something? I would love to see that stuff again. I always thought I was imagining alot of these things all these years, since they were never available on dvd/vhs. In the early 80's it was so common for the Big 3 Networks to have extra scenes and footage. For example Star Trek The Motion Picture and Wrath of Kahn had bonus Network-only scenes!
@msmithstud 2010 response if you indeed have the abc untouched versions preserved you can make a fortune with warner home video or some other dvd company also you should upload them to youtube in full clips before the vhs detereates terribly, personally i only want the ending of part two in full on yotube tittlize it superman 2 abc cut ending if you do
@joeystrab thanks for the response. However, i've never uploaded anything on youtube. If i can i will. Someone a while back uploaded all SII deleted scenes from the abc version, and they were all eventually removed for some reason. What deleted scenes in the ending of part II do you want to see?
@msmithstud superman two full ending clip upsets me that warner did not keep it intacked your version in remember like a script....aka book i too watched it twice abc wpix new york late nite
Wasn't the executor the same guy who's head Zod twisted when they tried to break some crystal piece before Jor-el sentenced them to the Phantom Zone?? I remember that scene from the opening of Superman II back when I watched it on video tape back in the 90s.
Would be nice one day to see this footage and ANY of the rest of the stuff that was used in the 3 hr version to be either put into a deleted scenes section on either DVD or Blu-Ray or reinserted back into the film like the bits that were put back into the Special Edition.
Cripes! Those eyes of pure terror! I remember seeing this way back on TV once! Scared the hell out of me, because I was so used to the theatrical version! I no longer saw it on any other release back then, so I thought I dreamed the whole thing. Thanks for posting this! Television broadcasting was cool over twenty years ago. The extended version of Aliens appeared on TV way before the laserdisc and DVD versions. Even the new extended Superman DVDs now do not have this.
When ABC ran Superman and Superman 2 they put in all kinds of extra footage. And the funny thing there was no ad campain "EXTRA FOOTAGE!! DELETED SCENES!!!" The first time I ever saw the famous "death traps" in the first movie was on ABC and boom, they were just there. I had no idea they were being added.
I remember those scenes of the military police flying through the planet...just wish they would have put the complete scenes of Krypton, the whole sequence take about 38 minutes instead of 26...!
Yeah, it's actually much better in the long version because it's much more chaotic and a really big way to start the movie. The theatrical version is a little too quick to blow the planet up.
I think I saw a hot dog in there....somewhere.

Awesome. I remember seeing the enforcer's death scene as a kid when the movie was broadcast on TV in Canada. Great to finally see it again.

in my opinion, the ABC cuts are the best versions of 1,2, and 3.

Indeed the "eyes" are very creepy. Makes me think of Maximilian from "The Black Hole" at the ending.

@atrac88 And the Mad Max series too.

Yeah is the 3hr version available amywhere?????

Is the 'extended' 3h version available to purchase or download anywhere? Even just the comprehensive scenes from Krypton would be good.

Check out my new clip with the entire destruction of krypton on it.

It would be cool if they would have kept the scene in the theatrical, but it doesn't make much sense. He's flying to find Jor El?

@LSpear76RCN
He's flying to go after Jor-El and arrest him, per the orders of the Council.
