Most waiters spend our tips on drugs i always try to see if the waiter is a user thats how I decide on tipping or not. One waitress straight up lied and said she had two kids when my friend knew her mom and caught her in a lie, it was embarassing. heres a tip to waiters go to college.

i don't hate. i just understand what it feels like to be on the receiving end of someone who doesn't tip you for your hard work. it's not the money, it's more the emotional insult. the "why is my time not worth anything to this person?" or the "what did i do wrong?" it hurts peoples feelings, man. where you're from, tipping must not be etiquette. but where i'm from, it is. and believe me, it stings when someone stiffs you. more than the money, it hurts peoples pride.

Funny clip, talk about a self full filling prophecy. The dude with the braids thinks the waitress is racist coz according to him, she does not expect a tip from black people. In the end he reafirms the stereotype by not tipping, citing her bad service as a reason. It is possible ofcourse that he would have tipped if he thought he had received better service but judging from this clip alone we can not tell.

Today was my first day serving at OCharleys. A black girl came in and I waited on her hand and foot. She ran me to the kitchen fo extra stuff, ordered a margarita, then canceled after it was made. Her bill was 13.70. She left 14. This does not help break this stereotype for me.

But it's ok. I've learned how to wait on black folks with no class. I am getting pretty good at spotting the classless, entitled blacks from the ones who have actually taken responsibility for their individual self and not tried to hide in a collective. When I spot one, I treat them indifferently (not poorly) but just enough where they will be motivated to proof they belong in a classy place. Then, if they tip halfway decent, I treat them very well next visit.

Waiters have to tip out, according to their sales, at the end of the night. Usually 3% of the food they sell to the Hostess and Bussboys, and 5% of their alcohol sales to the Bartender. So....when you dont tip, they are actually paying money out of their own pockets to wait on you. Like it or not, that is how it is in sit down restaurants. If you can't tip go to McDonalds.

@aadmharris In my state you had to pay taxes on 8% of the bill so when people didn't tip it was a bitch, especially when they ran up a big bill, and made you work your ass off. I think restaurants should pay wiat people better or add an 8% tip onto the bill. The customer could pay more if they wanted.

But in my city for example, Virginia Beach, about 70% of the black folks tip poorly compared to 5% of the other races in my rest. The other day when I went out to eat, I was seated next to a black couple. They were done eating when we got our food...they didn't tip the waitress...at the end of my meal, I ended up tipping a xtra 15% to cover the black people's table...$42.00+35% tip on top of it so the waitress didn't get stiffed. Just as a quick update bro, I'm gonna do a study. I already use excel to track my income (hours + tips), as well as non-tipping percentage. However, that's just me making my income statements. I will track ethnicity and sex as far as tippers and stiffers. I can already tell you I have 300 customers per month average. I expect black women to dominate this study.  If they tip, I'm in a state of shock. I'll probably do this from today til December and throw you the results if you want.
