In the late 50's and early 60's a drastic shift in american culture was aroused by the uprising of music legends such as; Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly and Chuck Berry. Whether you consider this change to be positive or negative; it is indisputable that IT WAS POSITIVE!
Joe satriani is there using ibanez because those types of guitars are known as super strats( Jackson ibanez Washburn) all based on strats hopefully that answered your question bud
Great video Stephanie, very informative and I came upon it on this day today that just happens to be Leo Fender birthday, he would have been 102 today. So thanks for sharing this great video, and a very gracious thank you to Mr. Clarence Leonidas "Leo" Fender, who was a huge influential part in bringing to us the music that we all take such great pleasure in listening to on a daily basis. Rest In Peace Leo :)
One goof I noticed was when you mention guitars, basses and amps. at 8:33 you mention the bass and the picture changes to what is looking like a Fender Jaguar, but it's a model I'm not familiar with. Otherwise this was a great informative video, and it's honestly not a huge deal, just thought I'd let you know!
Wow crazy. I actually own a fender. Its actually cool to know the history. And listening to you speak is better then reading it some where. Job well done!
hey people, help me please. I need a decent strat so I´m in chase of someone like this... (SImilar in look, I mean) or a deluxe daphne blue.... which one you will buy in my place?
the beatles mainly used rickenbacker, epiphone and gibson. BUT! george harison did use a rosewood telecaster during the let it be era. John also used a Fender bass IV..... they also used fender amps during the white album era and the let it be era. Fender in some way or form was everywhere in the 60s. Fender rules.... i wouldn't play anything else.
A kick ass documentary, saved to favorites. I just think I should point out that at 8:33 you showed the picture of a guitar instead of a bass. Otherwise amazing!
I am a guitar fan and own a Les Paul, but have nothing against Fender, my next guitar. FANTASTIC job on the history. I was aware of the Braodcaster, but did not know about the Esquire. Great job!

eh leo wouldn't approve of this vid. too many afro-bozos and 60s hippie scum. it's too pc, i'll have to give this a downrate.
fenders were all about white rock n roll and surf music, then hardcore punk music, ESPECIALLY IN OC.
case closed
