We've recently busted an enema ring at the local grade school.

The issue with marijuana legalization is not about whether its for medical purposes or recreational, its about our constitutional rights being taken away from us as legal citizens, and no offense to cheech and chong but they shouldn't have defend it in the way they are defending it. By not legalizing this plant, the government is basically saying you the people can't make your own decisions so we will make it for you, and history has shown this doesn't and will not work.

@cindybin2001 This is why working with the private sector is so imporatnt. With CCA, we have facilities planned that can house twenty five thousands marijuana addicts under one roof. There are entire families that have never know a life without marijuana. These are communities within communities, taking the wage earner from there family has been the problem. Here, families remain together in a drug free environment for the first time in their lives. We have to give this a chance.

New York has it "decriminalized" and its the marijuana arrest capitol of the world. You CANT buy marijuana in a store if its decriminalized. You risk jailtime and fines under decriminalization. You cant buy marijuana seeds or grow your own under decriminalization.
Legalization is better. Even if its heavily tax and regulated I can buy it in a store like alcohol, its WAY better than risking my life getting it from the criminal black market.

I think that it would not be a gateway drug if they legalized it. the only reason its a gateway drug now is because when you go to you local drug dealer and he has crack meth etc. he will be pushing that onto you so he can make more money. I've witnessed it's effectiveness used alone to calm people down a bit when they're in a manic phase. However, if it's combined with pharmaceutical drugs, it can actually make things worse... especially if the person also uses alcohol.
That's the tricky bit. Many mentally ill people are also addicts (drug &/or alcohol). Convincing them to quit any of their addictions, even for their improvement, can be next to impossible.

The issue with marijuana legalization is not about whether its for medical purposes or recreational, its about our constitutional rights being taken away from us as legal citizens, and no offense to cheech and chong but they shouldn't have defend it in the way they are defending it. By not legalizing this plant, the government is basically saying you the people can't make your own decisions so we will make it for you, and history has shown this doesn't and will not work.

@cindybin2001 This is why working with the private sector is so imporatnt. With CCA, we have facilities planned that can house twenty five thousands marijuana addicts under one roof. There are entire families that have never know a life without marijuana. These are communities within communities, taking the wage earner from there family has been the problem. Here, families remain together in a drug free environment for the first time in their lives. We have to give this a chance.

New York has it "decriminalized" and its the marijuana arrest capitol of the world. You CANT buy marijuana in a store if its decriminalized. You risk jailtime and fines under decriminalization. You cant buy marijuana seeds or grow your own under decriminalization.
Legalization is better. Even if its heavily tax and regulated I can buy it in a store like alcohol, its WAY better than risking my life getting it from the criminal black market.

I think that it would not be a gateway drug if they legalized it. the only reason its a gateway drug now is because when you go to you local drug dealer and he has crack meth etc. he will be pushing that onto you so he can make more money. At a herb shop you would buy from you wouldn't have the devastating drugs no one would be pressuring you into buying anything else not to mention so much money would be saved for the war on REAL drugs not a plant that comes from the earth

Interesting question.
I've witnessed it's effectiveness used alone to calm people down a bit when they're in a manic phase. However, if it's combined with pharmaceutical drugs, it can actually make things worse... especially if the person also uses alcohol.
That's the tricky bit. Many mentally ill people are also addicts (drug &/or alcohol). Convincing them to quit any of their addictions, even for their improvement, can be next to impossible.

Because the gov. can't tax it properly. It would be the "Revenuers" all over again.. It's bullshit that it is illegal, and liquor isn't due to the fact that it's a "gateway" drug. BULLSHIT.. just think, if we didnt bust people for pot, then more would use it and the world would somehow be a badder place? well for one, if we had no laws against it and more people chose to use it then that tells us that around half the population would use it sometimes. call me wrong but people should dictate what the laws, are not be dictated upon by people saying its bad and putting them in jail to stop them wanting something.

@MrSirMakaveli killing is not undertaken by over 1/3 of the pop.. if someone abuses pot a whole heap and harms themselves that is their fault. selling a quarter gallon of alcoholic spirits is not seen as bad enough to be jailed over. that could kill someone if they chose to drink it all at once or drive. when prop 19 was in the works, the feds said that if it gained more than 50 percent they would step in and arrest anyway. their words had the effect of dragging down the vote. dictators...
