The final letter was buried in the ground. It was a kind of time capsule that the boy had left for Miku, to be read 15 years later (that is, in the present day). So, Miku does get her reply in the end, kinda.

What a sad and strange song. Very moving story, since in the final few years, Miku forgot why she wrote the letters, and was left with the desire to hear back from the boy, but without the context. The blowback when her memories returned let her remember the time capsule.
