Brian Friedman was still her choreographer back then. That's probably why she moved so damn good. A different choreographer took over in the Circus era, and I don't think Britney could really let loose with him. Brian said this himself on MTV a couple of days ago. If you'll look at some of her videos and performances from that era and compare them with the ones before, you'll see there's a huge difference.

Brian's back on board for the new Hold It Against me vid though, so I'm psyched for that.
