Sony Vegas Tutorial - Cool Tricks & Random Tips

Hi there. I was just wondering, for the Sin City/Pleasantville effect, is there a way to achieve that when you don't have the Color Correctior (Secondary) option? I have Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum.version 9.0 ( and I don't have CC Secondary). Is there another way to create that look?

Abt the face mask effect..if we use cookie cutter,I believe we can mask any object(cover more area easily,without using anchor tool) much effectively..and can avoid tedious keyframing...dont know how it is going work..I havent tried it,yet..when I saw ur video,just I got this idea...

first you record yourself infront of a green screen(purple and blue works too, but you shouldn't wear anything that color or some of your body will get invisible) then you use chroma keyer to remove the green spot. make new track and put video on it. and it looks like your in that clip

What you should do is make a seperate video for each effect. otherwisae you had like 4 or something in this one and im not going to remember them all. and i have to search for them through the video if i come back.

either way your black and white you were purple and blue not black and white

You can make that kid look like a broken transmission over some space background.

Gotta have two videos. Video 1 is for background, anything. Video 2 is the video of the kid. Use chroma keyer on video 2, and then add TV simulator with horizontal out of sync.

There are thousands of ways using same effects to achieve different things, which might not be obvious at all, even if you start playing around.

Why do you make the keyframes 'hold' and 'Linear'? What exactly is the difference if you do that or if you don't? Because I don't notice a difference

@bllackangell Linear means that changes you make will take place smoothly between two key frames. HOLD means the changes will be" held" (not take place) until the second key frame is reached. The changes will happen suddenly.

If u mean how to make two videos slow or fast at same time? Hold left click in the place there ur videos is draw it over the videos u want to slow and make faster at same time, u will see a blue markin between the place u draw the mouse (make sure that u got the whole videos in the blue markins.) go to "Tools" and then click "Render to new track" then u have to wait untill the clips are rendered to one clip. now u can get effects at both clips at one time. ^^

to Comedy Spott Isolate the part of the vid by SPLITTING in 2 places.that is at the start and end of the part you want to change ( Press S on your Keyboard) You can then move the clip on the right out of the way,drag theSlow/Fast clip Hold down CNTRL as required then bring back the clip you moved out of the way

Actually you can I just figured out lol. You right click on the video or audio track and go down to group and click

"remove from" which separates it from the audio track so you can delete or trim either one.

Hi im having trouble with my sony Vegas 9i was actually adding FXs in the video so when the Video event FX bar came up where we function the FX you know i dragged the bar accidentally to the bottom left to the sony vegas time line and then it just disappeared down there and when i reopened the sony vegas i tried to add the FXs again and dragg them to the video it shows that the bar is going to bottom left of the time.Help me please!

The one tutorial that I can't find on how to do is how to match clips to play a long with a song that is kinda fast I created a trance Terminator Theme song & wanted to use clips from the show & the movies there are a lot of clips that I want to use but I do not know how make them follow the song without making the clips look funny. What i did in your case is to cut some scenes from the video i wanted to edit and then i went to the edge of any piece and press CTRL while i was setting the size of the block. That changed only the SPEED of the video block, not the scene itself. Remember, CTRL key pressed, and you'll se a wavy shape in your cursor that lets you know you're editing stretch.
