Near the building there is church (Armeneasca - Armenian community' church, let's say) and all the time there was a danger for the church to catch fire. There are many discussion about how the authorities allowed to build such a high building so close to a historical monument.
The building has access for the firefighters mainly only from 2 sides (the streets sides). On the other sides there are the church and other building.
Some hours ago, in the same night, there was a big thunderstorm; and similar thunderstorms were in the nights before, too. Some people said that a lightning stroke a panel on the top of the building and so the fire started.
The fire was a (very) challenging one, for the Bucharest, given the usual buildings height - 10 or 12 floors.
There were around 150 firefighters and 20 firetrucks. Almost no people was in the building. No victims.
This fire started on the night of Juin 26/27, 2009 (from 23.30PM to 3AM).
Location: Bucharest, Romania, near downtown
The building - Millennium Business Centre, was one of the highest in Bucharest - 72 meters, around 19 floors. There are little buildings like that in Bucharest, given the seismic (and other)dangers.
Apparently, the fire started around 23.30PM, from a big electric advertising panel.
Intamplator am vizionat acest material video.
Dar in mod special mi-a atras atentia un comentariu.
Va trebui sa mai treaca 3 generatii sa vedem si sa acceptam utilitatea acestor cladiri inalte.
Sa dispara cotinetzele si baracile in schimbul cladirilor din sticla si otzel, chiar de pana la 100 de ataje.
Va place metropola New York ?
Ceva de genu acela in Romania, peste 200 de ani.
Romania inca traieste in lumea a 3-a.
