So in other words like any other operating system you have to install certain modules to make windows distros work on linux. this is not new.If Linux was distributed and the world took up linux like Windows they would ordinarily be games designed to load directly onto linux and there are some available. Ie as windows at this point is the pushed system of choice. most applications are windows ready. I use Vista and it is a locked in system but not as locked in as apple.mac os .Mac X 10.5 is Good.

This chap is brilliant. I'm not sure if he is having us on with this I am a complete nerd persona or perhaps he really is a bit nerdy. Either way he's great and you gotta love him (well you don't gotta, obviously that is optional). I think he's great!!

I wish him all the best and I will download his ultumix version of pclinuxos as I have used the pclinuxos distro and it's pretty good if a bit dull to look at. Currently using Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron.

i was wondering... if i were to replace my vista home premium edition with ultumix, would i need to reinstall drivers?

b/c i replaced vista with xp on my toshiba A135 S4527 and had to reinstall all the drivers. that was a bitch!!! especially since network adapters wouldnt work and had no internet connection.

would i have the same problem with ultumix?

Ultumix only needs video and printer drivers. It has all other drivers for most devices already auto installed.

Easy install Cedega and you should be able to install any Windows video game you like.

I have yet to hear you say what video card you support. I run in the problem, when I try deferent distro of Linux. Like support for my 1440 x 900 res, for my Nvidia Geforce 7300

Or my MSI system board.

I want specs. Talk to me like I do know a little.
