  • By the way I love that song . I first heard it from an online game called ballo or something like that. Way to go guys on DaedalusX64 and all you have done. If i had that computer hacking talent I would do the same.

  • If they can get any of the AKI wrestling gameslike No Mercy working well i will pee myself !! ive tryed a few revs my self but slow gfx not showing up properly :(

  • what is better , get the daedalusx64 beta 2 or the latest daedalusx64 alpha rev?

  • song : Robert Miles - Children

  • there would be no HOMEBREWS WITHOUT PIRACY LOL!

  • lol nice wally

  • You've come a long way, baby.

  • ok nevermind

  • what's the name of the song?

  • the older emulators are better than Beta 2 because i cant even play half the games on it than i can on R14

  • Damn i was hoping ocarina would run decently =( it will soon though...and when people said N64 probably wouldnt be able to run on PC...there are currently Wii emulators running on my friends computers and i can run an N64 emulator on my old laptop perfectly... and whoever said you won't get 0.1 FPS is obviously just an idiot...it is quite awesome an N64 emu for PSP...but it isnt such an amazing thing as this video was claiming it to be...

  • with every new game, my jaw dropped further...

legend of zelda ocarina of time on a psp!!! insanity!! heavon!!! BOTH!!!

the graphics ran like shit, but who needs graphics when ur playing an ABSOLUTE CLASSIC of all time gaming highs... I LOVE PSP HOMEBREWS !!!!!!

  • got most of those games on the psp but mine does not lag at all i think u should re install yours

  • is there any way to play with the sound and not being laggy??? im using a pap slim 2001

  • You guys act as if you made N64 on the PSP possible. Most of this was done by StrmnNrmn.

  • Who are you talking to. altho i don't code for Daedalusx64 i am however a official tester for Daedalusx64, so i do know a bit of what i am talking about.

but yeah it was started by StrmnNrmn, but its currently being worked on by Kreationz, Howard, Wally (the poster of this video), Salvy, (a few others) and StrmnNrmn is still with it (but just not as active as he was).

  • And not to mention the people that got the ball rolling on this project again. And if it wasn't for them the project might not have started back up

  • lol i had all of the slowest running games and still, it runs great. Mario Kart 64 is the fastest. Without sound it can run faster than full-speed.

  • I'll be doing another teaser as soon as Beta 3 gets closer to release.

We have trees rendering properly in Zelda now :D

  • @wally4000 IS THIS THE LAST VERSION OF DX64?

  • hey Buddy, can you post the name of the song?

    ;)

    Great Vid... 5/5

  • "For those wondering what the song is called:

    Its called

Children by Robert Miles. Its a hit from the 90's "

how about reading the description? =O

the Daedalusx64 team kicks ass and the psp rocks!!!!

  • Thanks

    o/

  • If you guys are getting shit speeds in daedalusx64 beta 2. Then watch my video with zelda oacrina of time on psp. I show what my settings are that i can play it at 5 to 15 frames per second.

  • Lets see about that shall we :)

  • Randysteele1992 you are going to eat those words, you don't have the slightest clue on what you are talking about.

  • Well alot of games on n64 pc emulation still run like shit,so what makes me expect a perfect n64 emulator on psp!?

  • well if you would do your homework you would realize that the PC has to emulate 100% of the N64 like CPU, sound, and GFX.

since the PSP and the N64 both use a MIPS CPU the PSP only has to emulate parts of the N64's CPU (this is why the PSP can emulate the N64), And if you take maters further the PSP has 2 CPU's running at 333mhz, and Daedalusx64 is only using one of them right now.

  • Well OFCOURSE the pc the the power to emulate the n64.

  • What you are failing to see the point of is that the PSP doesn't have to be as powerful as the PC to emulate the N64 at or around full speed due to both the PSP and N64 use a MIPS CPU, it doesn't really take allot of speed to emulate, it really depends on the hardware doing the emulation for the amount of speed needed.

another point your failing to see is that emulation on the PSP is being done on only one of 2 CPUs the PSP has. the PSP has 2x CPU's running at 333mhz a piece.

  • i've YET to see a n64 game screw up on my PC and my PC is shit... pos dell... then again, its not like i tried 100% of the games for it, mainly only a few of the ones everyone played and a couple ones that no one played..

  • Loving the illegible text. :-)

  • o-o-o OWNED, fucking amazing video i love this emulator keep it up :)

  • i have this emulator but its horrible....

how can i set it to work better??

  • Hey man! Awesome work on bringing Daedalus back into action :D I was hoping someone would pick up the project. I have one question actually. Does this gain any benefit running on the PSP-2000 or 3000 over the 1000, with the extra ram? Only wondering because I still have my trusty ol' 1000 and it would suck have Daedalus run worse because of it heh.

  • Unfortunately, I think so. More RAM = less memory stick bottleneck. I also have phat. But hey, we have mega drive and gameboy advanced emulation down, not to mention all the 8-bit ones (master system, nes etc.) and psone games. Snes works too, but not as well as GBA. Not sure how much emulation is available on 3000, not looked into it. If they make psp2, maybe n64 emulation will work properly. Nintendo might release a handheld based on gamecube hardware & offer the old titles as virtual console.

  • Can you tell me what preferences you used to run Pokemon Stadium 2?

  • How can you start paper mario on Daedalus X64, everytime when i want to start it, it only shows a black screen.

  • Ya i this on qj

    is the sound anybetter

  • uhh i just got beta 2 and all the games run no where near as good as this, any advice wally? for example, paper mario doesnt even load. it just crashes and shuts down.

  • Try a different ROM.

And for speed try configuring the frameskip to skip atleast 2.

Also try fatsmod or updating to 5.00 m33-6

  • thanks for the advice but im already at 5.00 m33-6. i thought it cud be the rom though ill try it.

  • Disable Loop Opt, it was a last minute bug.. unfortunately we haven't fixed it :S.

I'll most likely upload a fix soon.

  • paper mario works good actually

  • Wally, what did you and salvy use to create this vid? I've been wanting to record some vids of Zelda oot but i'm not sure which program to use to record my psp with?

  • I used iMovie, Salvy used Hypercam or something

  • looks supiciously like you've slowed some of the games down to make up for slow framerate

  • None of the games have been slowed down, its probably a side effect of the Video Capture Box unfortunately.

  • can't wait

  • damn :( zelda still runnin slow...

  • it's actually not that slow, that looks like they have no frameskip, and if you put it on 1, it runs pretty well with no jump graphics... also this was made awhile ago, i believe there have some some improvements since then

  • still slow

  • cant wait for this to come out, can some one please tell me whats the name of game on 1:48

  • puzzle bobble

  • bust a move

  • Want. Now

  • still kinda slow but it is 100x's better than anyting else i've seen props

  • hey i was watching this vid on a slow computer is it faster than daedalus X64

  • This will be released very soon, keep an eye out for it. Rod, friend of one of the devs.

  • Hey guys when is this gonna be release

  • thanks guys been waiting for this for ages this is what i got my psp for and ps1 emu

  • Nice developement vid. Can't wait to pick up yet another PSP and give emulation in general another chance.

  • WHATS THIS THEME SONG?

  • This is "Children" from Robert Miles.

One of the Best Trance Songs :)

  • SOUND ?????

  • Wheres Diddy kong racing :(

  • paper mario looks tight!

  • That's awesome! Beta 2 already was released or not?

  • paper mario O_o!!!!!!!!!

  • awesome

  • just wondering when it is coming out ? this video has been out for weeks and no rough time has been said when to arrive. i know it takes time and it's great but soon it will be months....

  • i think they said before or after valentines day

  • they should put network abilities so u can play smash bros with 2 psp

  • Wally excelent teaser cant wait or beta 2

  • I can't wait until this comes out! I wanna play Star Fox and Zelda! At full speed. Nice one dude.

  • Resident Evil 2! Pleeeeese!

i hope they get Paper Mario to run fast at least.

  • I hope some day Super Smash Bros will be playable in the PSP at 60 FPS

  • Not bad by any means!

  • The PSP's MIPS CPU is instruction compatible with the N64's CPU, so performance issues shouldn't be a problem. The 0.1 fps guy was just on a power trip.

  • i cant fucking wait

  • I hope Blast Corps will eventually work. :(

  • You guys ARE THE BEST. I can c that u guys been WORKING REALLY HARD. Keep up the GOOD WORK GUYS. Thanks to the DaedalusX64 TEAM. 5 STARS TO U GUYS AND ALL THE CREW.

  • I still praying for banjo kazooie

  • still no 007: goldeneye? :(

  • can't wait man :D ur are the best! :D my favourite games coming back:D at normal speed! awesome!:D

  • c vrmnt bluffant ! J'avoue, moi osi j'faisais parti des sceptiques...

  • any chance of perfect dark in your later releases?

  • PAPER MARIO HURRAY!!!!!! THANK GOD and daedalusx64 team

  • I have a question... Do the emulator run at same speed on psp-2000 and psp-1000? In fact that the psp fat have 32mb ram and the psp slim 64mb? Thx for enlighten me, im a bit confused..

  • Not perfect but it's a hell alot better than the current release. I can't even run a game without it restarting my PSP or having my PSP freeze.

  • when the fuck there going to realese this shit!!!

  • Calm down, this kind of thing takes time.

  • o my god finnally hopefully getting into castle town wont be hell and it will save on my phat psp and ssb wont freeze so many problems with that one

  • nice vid

keep up with your good work

    psp needs your emu :)

  • Keep up the work guys. Been playing through the daedalus since around 3. We getting so close. its like you can the see the lights at the end of the tunnel. Can;t wait to try out this version and do some option changing to get that good fps. These vids were done with the games on default emulation settings correct? If so, the fps will nice on alot of games with a little frameskip etc etc.

  • dnt really give a damn unless it runs all

    -Toke223

Put that in your next vid and use it as your Goal

if it aint perfect its a failure

  • great job guys i am astonished with the progress this emu has made looks like super mario 64 is nearly perfect great job.

  • Oh god imminent download upon release. Glad to see all that hard work is paying off. Keep at it. And thanks from the PSP Community.

  • Consider that u use some cpu of the psp to run it on pc screen by usb...

  • but will it be able to play games that need the expansion pak? i hope so, cause im dyin to play majora's mask

  • Can't wait. Mind me asking what you used to record this, and maybe a more specific release date? :D

  • I used iMovie HD for the recording.

The release date is not due for publication yet, when its close we'll let you know

  • JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!

ICh wusste das sichs warten lohnt!!!

  • Hahaha I used to listen to this song all the time in like, 5th grade.

  • This is a triumph I'm writing a note here huge success....

    2 mins later

Now we're out of Alpha we're releasing on time

    BRAVO daedalusx64 team

  • SANDSTORM!

  • no. Children - Robert Miles.

  • That was nice, progress feels good huh?

I'm one of the few people who never had a N64 and being able to kick back with some classics has been nice and it's about to get even better.

  • i would like to see donkey kong 64, if they ever get that game running smooth on the psp... great job though

  • agreed

  • DUDEE THESE GUYS ARE AWESOME!!!

although i will say one thing....i tell u...as soon as Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time and Majoras Mask are fully playable or at least almost that...this thing is mine and it will never leave my PSP! and if u think abot it...i believe that Zelda is one of the most complex games on the N64...with that said...if they can make Zelda work well, than everything else should be working almost perfectly as well!

    well guys....U CAN DO IT!

    and nice Mac touch...Apple Rules!

  • I thought Super Smash Bros was hard to run? idk... both of Zelda and ssb look quite slow.

Still awesome how far they accomplished.

  • True SSB and Zelda are pretty slow right now...but compare them now to how they were in Deadalus R11 and R12....

Not only that but u guys have to remember...this demonstration is showing DeadalusX64 Beta 2 with now modifications to the settings. And we all know how the settings change the performance of the games...

  • u should consider the fact that this is running on a PSP & not some super computer

  • hope also those random freezings and green places r gone(getting in to castle was hell)

  • nice man i love u wally no one did belive back then :) but alot has changed..... im so happy beta 2 is coming out!

  • Knew it'd come great job guys

  • Excited to see that the emulator is getting better and better. Keep up the works guys.

  • Achievement unlocked

    500 G

    Great work ;)

  • Yeeeeaah can't wait for this =D

    Starfox XD

Although I'll be truly happy the day Ocarina of Time runs perfectly.

  • That'll be when the Pandora comes out! I'm hoping it's soon and I'm hoping they can get N64 running on it quickly. I agree with you though. I've yet to see a mobile Ocarina of Time, but that may change in 2009! Whoa, that rhymed!

  • mario 64 its at full speed XD

  • That's amazing!

  • I've been waiting for R14 for the longest time. Its because of this game that i finally beat starfox all the way through. Fun times in math class :)

  • Do you need custom firmware for this?

  • yes

  • Yes.

  • lol wally :0 hope to see u on forums :p looking great! man can't wait till this comes out!!!

  • made on a mac? the vid or the emulator?

  • The video is made on a Mac (and recorded too), the emulator is made for the PSP on either Windows, Linux or OSX.

  • WOW definitivamente este es un buen avanze, hace mucho que no veia nada del daelalus pero me dejaron sorprendido, mi una duda seria, si el sonido tiene problemas o hasta ahora lo corren sin audio??

  • Hehe, very nice team Daedalus!!

Here's to the silly buggers ;)

  • A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Legen of zelda

  • the video roxx the music suxxx...

5 stars good video man AWESOME ..

    Pokemon Stadium 2 is cool...

  • u guys really did prove them wrong. lol

  • thers definately hope

  • cool looking forward to paper mario:)

  • awesome and awesome!!

    good job :)

  • It's simply amazing, guys! Congrats to DeadalusX64 Dev Team!

I'm anxiously waiting for the release!

For those who think that it's nothing that big, just understand that, in PCs, you need more than 1GHz to be able to emulate N64 at a fairly decent speed, with a bit of frameskip for it to be playable... in PSP, we're talking about a 333Mhz machine, and those guys made it run those games quite smoothly without frameskip!

They should be the Idols of the PSP Homebrew Community! A toast to that!

  • Yes, Mario Kart 64 at 12 FPS ! :)

  • Really can't wait to play this beta! =D

I've had faith in this emu since Daedalus R1. Incredible work, dudes!

  • dunno aboyut that, even on frameskip 2 many games ran just as fast as on this vid.

luv on Smash.bros where 1sec count takes 3second lol.

also i wouldnt be so sure about the no sound thing, there's the new option that makes it a lot faster i believe.

and those people who said N64 on psp was impossible are just dumb anyway. if the programming was perfect, the psp probably sould run the emulator 150% speed... actually more than that

  • There's a massive difference between no frameskip and frameskip 2 in Daedalus. Sometimes, frameskip 2 is actually too fast for me in SM64 without the sound on.

  • nice video, I'll be waiting for the release.

By the way. What's the song's name?

    It sounds really nice.

  • The Song is called "Children" and it's from Robert Miles.

  • Very great video can't wait until the release.

  • I still don't find those very playable.

Impressive yes, but not playable. With the exception of a few titles shown, most of those games ran at half speed or less without sound, not playable IMO.

  • That's because they didn't use frameskip for the video, many games run incredibly well on frameskip 2.

  • Name of the song is children by robert miles. Can't wait for this. Keep up the good work guys.

  • Great video can't wait for the release. When it is released go to Myspace . com / deadaluspspcompatibility

  • How lovely.

  • NIce. Even if it isn't full speed, it is definitely running better than most PC ones I have tried. Can't wait to try it out. Hopefully Starcraft 64 is playable one day though. Even if it wasn't that great, being able to play Starcraft anywhere would be nice.

  • What did you try on PC? I played a few N64 games using Project64 and I had fullspeed in every single one, no graphical glitches.

It even worked with a glorious 1680x1050 resolution with 16xQAA

  • I said most. Project64 works fine for me. But the others are pretty bad.

  • impressive.

  • what is the name of that song?
