This song was being played when my Mother was on her death bed,. and I will forever love the mighty Clouds of Joy to me they make my Mother live on in my mind for ever

I heard and read arguments that Willie Banks, Willie Neal Johnson, Howard 'Slim' Hunt, Robert Blair or Tommie Ellison was the best male quartet lead singer. However, Joe Ligon has my vote, although I was not a Cloud fan. Joe & Sam Cooke probably did more and inspired more others. Without Joe there would have been a Melvin Williams or Roger Bryant. He was and is the best!!! Clara Ward was the best female quartet singer.
