  • I think that part of the problem, is that its being used in a different colloquial sense than what the dictionary definition is. What they mean when they say ignorant, is that they not only are ignorant but continue to talk about they're ignorant of. While its still true that ignorant means that they simply dont know, they still use it as in insult to the affect that they're ignorant and continue speaking on what they're ignorant of.

  • Not to be a smart ass, but you admit to not reading the whole bible, yet you've still come to the conclusion that you do not believe in it. This prompts me to ask, if you did read it through, would it change your mind about it? Oh, btw, The Amazing Fat Atheist is VERY sexy, but you do a better job of that as well. Just observations on my part, but I do THAT very well myself.

  • Oh shit I didn't read the black bible. I might want to have sex with goats...I think I should go read it to find out. Thanks for the info!

  • I wouldn't know. I do NOT believe in any bible nor fuck goats, but obviously you do. You don't even have sense enough to realize when someone is asking a valid question, of which, no goddamn body asked your white supremicist opinion no way. Why don't you do the whole world a favor and slit your own wrists, that way, no one else has to suffer your stupidity.

  • @TheFIRSTFatJohn Maybe I should. Thanks for the info!

  • There is already a fat guy who does something like this and he also loves food like this guy. Go see the amazing fat atheist.

  • but hes not SEXY like me :)

  • I must agree with you on your definition of the word "ignorant," but we must also keep in mind that the term "willfully ignorant" can be easily condensed to the word "ignant."

  • Religion has answers expecting no question & no proof. Science has answers expecting to be questioned and proven. One can use or question validity of detective methodology & since the invisible & the non-existent look very much alike, one must examine the validity of existance versus the proof of a negative.

  • I enjoy "orbiting teapot" myself.

  • Of course you can bake cookies! You're just in denial! Every human is given the knowledge of baking at birth by the great Cinnamon Bun in the sky. Realise it, or you will burn in the Oven of Heresy forever!

  • @disagreer HAHAHA "the great Cinnamon Bun in the sky"

  • Thank you.

  • Spot on! thankyou! it's kinda frustrating when an explanation is demanded of you with regard to atheist belief when the burden of proof should be on those whose beliefs are based on almighty assumptions! Yet when you kindly oblige, you get spoken over, insulted, not allowed to finish your answer etc....why? because they do not have the capacity and brain power to keep up...thats fine but willfull ignorance is a form of escape and a little annoying - as these ignoramus' still have so much power!

  • A typical Creationist convention:

    - Almost everyone I meet grew up with the presumption of Evolutionism, was educated in school about it and accepted Evolutionism as a 'given' and as 'true science'.

It was after they began investigating further they 'converted' to Creationism.

-As Creationists are constantly put to the test, answers are demanded and it becomes a part-time job to keep up on Evolutionism.

So these are not people coming from a place of ignorance.

    Opposite really.

  • the bible is still amazing after 2000 years.

  • yes it is "AMAZING" that people think that these stories have anything to do with reality . . .

  • Comment removed

  • Yes thethorn42, the bible is absolutely amazing. Even after numerous linguistic, symbolic, culturally influenced, and interpretive translations of the bible over the centuries, people still think what they're reading from that book is completely factual and buy into it; hook, line, sinker, and the MEN who continuously RE-CREATE it.

  • HAHAHAHA dude, you rock.

    ........ I can't make cookies.

  • LMAO!!!!

  • I think you should read the entire Bible over and over to get a very good understanding of it. I did this so that no Christians can say I just don't believe because I have not read the Bible. It just strengthens our position.

  • I based most of my older viewpoints that there were some vague fundamental problems with religion, on the stories that they talk about the most.

ACTUALLY READING the bible has made me realize that they have absolutely NOTHING right about anything ! ! !

  • Holy crap. YOU CANT MAKE COOKIES?!?!?! :O

  • Great video. I subscribed I liked your video so much. BTW-your reply to crazyweasel gave me a good chuckle. I think more willfully ignorant people need to become ignorant of eating.

  • if they were just ignorant of breeding it would be enough

  • I think the people who were calling you ignorant were trying to tell you that you are stupid. I didn't even watch the whole video because you are stupid. Also the video you are responding to was supposed to be a joke making fun of creationists. Also you don't look ignorant of baking.

  • this was not made as a direct response to his vid I just linked it because I liked his. :) I am not ignorant of eating :)

  • I will use some of the things you say in everyday life thank you!

  • Very well done UberLogic! Well said, I agree with you completlety, and yes that guy in that video was fefinatetly being willfully ignorant, he also comes across as being closed minded, since all he seems to believe is that the bible is the only correct evidence. I feel sorry for people like that, it's like they seem to openly enjoy calling themselves idiots in puplic... very sad in deed.

  • that takes big man to say all that. good for u. i have problem in my life becouse people i know are willfully ignorant. if you can help me make willfully ignorant people listen

  • stu·pid (stōō'pĭd, styōō'-)

    adj. stu·pid·er, stu·pid·est

    1. Slow to learn or understand; obtuse.

    2. Tending to make poor decisions or careless mistakes.

    3. Marked by a lack of intelligence or care; foolish or careless: a stupid mistake.

    4. Dazed, stunned, or stupefied.

    5. Pointless; worthless: a stupid job.

The key is number 3, foolish or careless, ignorance.

I propose "willfully ignorant" should be "stupid".

  • close... but I believe that willfully ignorant needs to be MORE than that. This is not foolish this is INTENT!

  • Agreed, stupidity needs no intent, 'willful ignorance' is purposely avoiding knowledge.
