That was amazing. And they screened it on New Zealand tv in 1990 too! I would have been five years old :S Must have been quite an outstanding miniseries at the time - but it's still outstanding even by today's standards :)

There were many relationships after Violet, with Virginia Woolf, with Hilda Matheson, Evelyn Irons, Mary Garman, Gwen St. Aubyn, Geoffrey Scott. Violet was the only person she came close to leaving Harold for. To suggest she was just another lesbian trapped in a loveless marriage because if she left she'd be destitute is oversimplistic.
