love it. a place without a postcard, countdown, bird noises, species deceases, red sail in the sunset ... the golden age of midnight oil! (earth and sun and moon is mint as well)
I remember they performed this song on Thicke of the Night. The set for this song was all crumpled up newspapers everywhere. He picked up a piece like he was reading it as he danced around, then he pulled out a lighter and set it on fire and dropped it. The show was running late so they couldn't stop. They kept a close up on him while all the show staff ran in with extinguishers.
fucking legend, I was in aussie this week and had to play some oils on the mp3 as it seemed appropriate, Nick Launay produced a fair wack of the oils stuff around this time I think which is probably why the Armoury Show sound a little similar with some of the musical arrangements. Thanks for posting this
remember seeing pete @ our local servo back in 84 Mt Colah just north of sydney...we as punk ass 13 year olds yelled out ''Hey Pete''..gotta love it....
not very environmentally friendly though. Ahh I`m sure he picked them up again. Probably still using them in fact. If Garrett kept that hat he`d be in Kirribilli House right now.
ugly rigout. great song.

I walked past a primary school today and all the kids were showing their respect for Peter Garrett by wearing hats as worn in this video.
This song is timeless.

Finally, Peter Garrett has the opportunity to practice what he preached/sang about.
Our environmental future is in a bit of his hands.

In 1983, they were living in today.

Most political issues are not very new, the only thing thats new today is an increased awareness of *some* issues.
