  • holly crap, what era was that lol lol 1976 computing :)

  • omg dont forget to unhook the floppy drive from the motherboard too as well as the power cord...

  • but i do remember setting the scanner to #2 and on boot up I set something to #2 also. and I will try to help as best I can If anyone else wants to hook up a flat bed large format scanner. just ask me. There is something wonky about AHCI Bios and SATA/IDE bios. I'm not sure but I think if ya have one , you cant have the other unless when the operating system was installed yada yada, i never understood the rest. But because i had a floppy disk drive..i had AHCI bios installed....i think..

  • ok for all ya'll out there like me who just went thru hell, here is how i did it. I hooked up to an old dimension8300 dell computer with a floppy drive. I unhooked the power cord to the floppy and plugged the power to the newly installed scsi card. No more AHCI Bios not installed. It was hell but install the drivers for the card. XP is supposed to install auto. didnt, reboot, it did. well from here it is all a blurr, install, uninstall, download, uninstall install, but I do remem....

  • Dude, I just wrote a book to this about all the trouble I've had connecting this $1,500.00 EPSON to my computer. We will just say, it's been hell, Let's just start with On boot up AHCI Bios not installed. The rest is like child birth, I just want to forget it.

  • isa was outdated majorly in 1997 when pci hit the amrket

  • @TrowbridgeHardcore ISA was outdated in the late 80's!, lol, just rather unfortunate that it kept being used up until the early 2000's. BTW, PCI started getting good use around '94-'95.

  • @Dant2142 indeed however in England up until around mid 97 pc's were still being shipped with isa hardware inside rather than pci cards apart from the odd exception, i remember ripping apart loads of Time, Tiny Compaq and Dell machines from the mid to late 90's around 4 years ago for parts and they were all loaded with isa

  • Holy crap did I just fall into a time warping wormhole? LoL, ISA

  • Or you could use your brain and buy a SCSI -> USB cable

  • ISA, what!!!, what century are we in?!?!

  • @asth12 my pentium 4 bord from 2001 had it then again it also usb 1 and t bast 1 ether net
