  • Very impressive, but what's a Mechon? They were called Mechanoids.

  • Love the Sugar Puffs poster.

  • Very nicely done!

  • I have been thinking a lot about this, Roberta Tovey said once she would like to do another instalment (she was 11 at the time that would make her about 60 now) but there is no replacing Peter Cushing (do you think Christopher Lee could be a Doctor?) but it does call for a new film series.

A smart reinterpretation of the films, i have done some desighns and thought up primmary characters and situations, if i had the cash i would see if i could get the green light from BBC WORLDWIDE to make it.

  • How did you make the animation? What are the clips from and where did you download them? Please tell me.

  • @DoctorWhoFanactic

Many of the clips of Cushing and Dracula are clearly from the Hammer Dracula film series, i was just watching 'Dracula Prince Of Darkness' and 'Dracula 1970' among others a few months ago, you can see where the images were lifted from.

  • i nearly believed you , you flipin flip!!! i would laugh but i'm too disappointed!! harrumph; you could have at least made it look like a plausable spoof!!! mutter, grumble, harrumph etc!

  • This is excellent. If it wasn't for the CGI, I'd think it was real. Of course, it wouldn't be as good without the CGI. If you don't mind, I'd like to base a fanfic on it.

P.S. Where are the clips of Jim Dale and Angela Douglas from?

  • @NaJa0283

    Thanks.

  • utlimatly its for the best this movie was not made. the chase is not one of the better dalek stories. the Masterplan was far better.

  • Extremely well-made!

  • COOL!

But will it be in 3D ?

    Can't wait

  • I just read a thread on a blog of somebosy saying that they heard it was made but was damaged in a fire before it could be shown. I know its not true, but imagine how ironic that would be if it did!

  • Haha this is amazing!!! I really wish they had made this film!!!

  • This is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen - you are beyond genius. Give this man funding and a team, make us a brand new movie...

  • this is the greatest dalek film that never was. maybe if charector options release a 1960's Dalek Movies series with cushing daleks and the peter cushing doctor who someone may make their own version. that would be cool, but i doubt that charector option will release figures of the 1960's Dalek Movies, and even if they do it wouldnt probably be many figures

  • Brilliant, i want to watch the movie!

  • Don't you just wish this film existed?

  • where is the clip of the dalek movie saucer approaching earth from? Love it!

  • @garrybrighton I made it myself! :)

  • Fantastic editing work here. Really entertaining :D

  • Very well made indeed.

  • What program did you use to show the sand dripping off the dalek in the desert. Could you do a tutorial on it?

  • @sabermovie It was Blender, and I'd recommend googling Particles. A bit tricky...

  • thumbs up if you saw this before reading it in DWM :)

  • Congratulations for being featured in DWM!

  • This film was planned and they were called Mechons in all media ect.

  • The terrifying thing is, a third Dalek movie based on the Chase could well have looked lie this - even down to using Charles Hawtrey. Amicus used him in a cheap scifi film called the Terrornauts.

  • This looks amazing, awesome piece of work

  • This is GREAT! I think it is the funniest, and maybe even the best, Dalek film ever! You've given us all the best bits, thanks! As well as all the funniest, cheesiest bits! See Daleks fight Dracula! See Daleks come up out of the sand, shakily! I LOVE THIS! :-)

  • I'm favouriting!

  • that was absolutely brilliant . i love the chase, you should have ended with them ending up in space , i mean spain hahah

  • I cannot commend you enough for this excellent piece of work, my hat goes off to you!

Although the Dalek voice was a little off, but the American dude was spot on! What program is it?

  • I cannot commend you enough for this excellent piece of work, my hat goes off to you!

  • Well done in getting this video in DWM mate! =D

  • @FloProproductions I've just heard! Haven't bought the Monthly for a while, but they clearly recognise a good thing! *Happy*

  • They're called Mechanoids!

  • @Drwhofanindatardis that means ur not a real dr who fan they call them mechons for short form

  • Comment removed

  • @Drwhofanindatardis This is a "what if "video and the authors are supposing that the Mechanoids could have been renamed for the big screen, use your loaf. ps over a hundred figures? Spoilt :p

  • @handofsutekh So what, I favourited the video.

  • theseus27 - Of course Dracula would be in this trailer since Dracula is in The Chase as well.

  • An excellent trailer! Extremely well made and the CGI is brilliant!

My only criticism is that the dalek voices sound a bit mellow and "shy". It would have been better to get someone not afraid to really belt out the lines.

  • Awsome! like from the Chase with William Hartnall :D

  • What on earth is Dracula doing in a Dr Who film trailer?

It sounds a ridiculous idea, but I enjoyed the rest of the video though.

Also, the Daleks voices weren't very menacing enough for me.Sounded a bit too human!! Cool video though! Thanks! :)

  • I loved how Dracula ended up in there.

  • Great video. Shame about the voices!

  • that was definatly one of THE best dalek vids on you tube, the only one as good this the invasion of skaro

  • I think it was a shame we never got the third dalek, serial the Chase as a film or even the fourth dalek serial the Daleks masterplan as a film either. It woud have been bloody brilliant to have had the, Chase and Daleks Masterplan as films but never mind we cannot have everything in this world. I liked the android Doctor in the Chase which was, the first story in Doctor Who to feature doubles of the Doctor and/or his companions . That idea was used many times in the show's, history and was good

  • OMGA it's better every time!

  • So F'ing brilliant. I keep coming back to watch this trailer. Love how it all feels like Technicolor.

Hope they find a copy of the full feature one of these days :)

  • @OzymandiusCG You do know the films was never made? This video is...a joke?

  • (2:53) Christopher Lee actually scares a Dalek with sheer horrifying BADASSEDNESS. LMFAO I've rewatched that segment 20 times now.

  • oh, brilliant!

  • Absolutely adore this!

  • what are Mechons?

i have never heard of them what so ever.

  • @thrawn1 Mechons are another name for the Mechanoids. They were originally going to be called that in The Chase.

  • @Trayusstudent1 In the closing credits of The Chase, the name is actually spelt Mechonoids, according to Doctor Who Magazine. I was shocked to find I'd got it wrong all these years.

  • @MrMarvel323 Seriously :O me too by the looks of it then, thanks for telling me :)

  • lol brilliant - it's really believable

  • totally brilliant

  • Christopher Lee! XD

  • those clips from Carry On Screaming are rather well used ;-)

  • Brilliant - I like the Aridian and the Sand Dalek, and I have absolutely no idea how you did that last bit.

The only thing that could be improved would be some better Dalek voices - though knowing them they'd be like that in the movie.

  • @Aquatics64 Yeah, how did he do that bit??

  • @TheEocene Magic! :)

  • Felt like I was reading an old issue of Radio Times! Good stuff, mate as always

  • super!!!

  • great!!!!

  • Brilliant.

  • great!!!!!

  • great!!!

  • great!!!!!!

  • stunning models!

  • Andrew - That was fantastic! I love the references to the 60s Dalek strips.

  • Obviously Ian and Barbara must have brought CGI technology back to the 60s with them. ;)

  • That is HILARIOUS!

  • If you watch the documentary of Doctor Who called More than 30 Years in the TARDIS, Roberta Tovey is interviewed about the two movies and never mentions anything about a third movie, she says that after all these years(documentary made in '93) it would be nice to make another film where Susan is grown up. So, srry to burst bubbles but this is fact

not bad on the trailer though wonderful idea

  • @MrGJEProductions The producers were going to make a third film starring Peter Cushing but due to low takings in the Box office for Daleks invasion Earth 2150 ad they shelved it.

    This is also fact.

  • @cbatt91337 well excuuuuusssseee me, princess.

  • What a loud of smeg!

  • even thought the film was destroyed in that fire (Kill who ever it was who started it unless they died in the fire) this trailer looks good i wish they would remake it or the dalek films over again.

  • @x00001 this film was never made ever...

  • @x00001 I think you may be getting a little confused. First of all, there never was a third Dalek film to be destroyed in the first place. And second, you're probably thinking of the old BBC scrapping policy, where they burned copies of Doctor Who stories to make room for new TV program tapes.

  • this is fantastic. i love these two dalek movies and think that peter cushing and roberta tovey were a much underated and forgotten doctor and companion. Its so refreshing to see somone extending the mythos of these two movies as apart from a single comic strip years ago no one ever does anything with these characters and always concentrates on the tv series. I would love some more storys featuring Dr Who and Suzie

  • Really wonderful stuff.

The Chase drags but as a movie it would have been marvellous

  • Brilliant!

  • God I wish this was real. These movies were fun. Bad Doctor Who, but good as a solo entity.

Also, you did the special effects too well imo.

  • Absolutely brilliantly done, mate.

  • Love it! Thumbs up!

  • power-dalek-rangers here too!!! cool

  • eeek vampire darleks in space...am scared now!!

  • Paul is Dead.

  • To everyone who says the Daleks do not sound right, this actually is how they sounded in the two 60s films.

  • Who is this Doctor Who I like the cut of his jib. His Identical Robot Duplicate cuts the mustard too. Top notch, and always good to see the Golden Emperor in all his bulb-headed shinery. Well done. Here's a pound, etc.

  • brilliant work

  • Brilliant. Such attention to detail, smooth edits, very very impressive. And PMSL, goes without saying!!!

  • Excellent trailer! Superbly edited with great cgi and blending! My only criticism is the dalek voices. Whoever's doing them sounds a little bit shy. Good modulation treatment but they need much more ooomff!

  • excellent video but let down by the sound track

  • is Roberta Tovey, Russel Tovey's Mum???

  • Bloody well done Andrew!

  • cool vid lol

  • Oh, how much fun was that? great idea - take the third film option and try it out. - extrapolating just how it could have looked. Some touches - lee as Dracula, Jim Dale, and, of course, Charles hawtry as an Arridian. Nicely done.

One point... the Dalek voices are very slightly, um.. wonky... if ya want some done for you, give me a yell.

Apart from that, my hat is firmly taken off to you!

  • Oh, oif only it were true! excellent work!

  • @DragonBlade44 Oh, please don't be a div.

  • @solidbronze It is though...they didn't have CGi then

  • @themaypole Please stand in the corner and think about what you've said.

  • @solidbronze How about sod off? =]

  • @DragonBlade44 Moran..

  • @DragonBlade44 Dude this was true. It was planned, but never made. Frankly, I would have loved to see this movie in all it's glory.

  • @DragonBlade44

It's a very good one. Makes me want to see the film, Roberta Tovey and all.

  • 1:27 Thanks for that! Tea spluttered everywhere, "Terry and June" style. Christ what a mess.

  • ha ha this is great

  • Brilliant visuals; dreadful Dalek voices.

    They shriek; they don't mumble.

  • Dude! REALLY enjoyed this. Well done, however - it COULD be perfect. Gonna throw this atcha n see what u think. Honestly well edited and constructed, but 2 things have to go. Number One: You're daleks dont sound enough like FANATIC-FRENZIED-INSANE-ROBO-NAZI's!!! And they should! They kinda sound like "Hey-Bob! How-s-It-Goin-Dude?-Hate-My-Job!" Daleks. Its messed. lol The SECOND things minor. Narrarator voice should be a very Brit version of the Clone Wars Animated Serial announcer. but FYI -NIC1

  • That was really well made, the aspects of the films added the storyline "The Chase" which was a William Hartnell story.

    Very impressive :)

  • Very cleverly done mate! What might have been eh? Love the Dracula stuff and the final bit with Jim Dale pretty much spot on. Great work!

  • Absolutely amazing! Excellent work!

  • This is brilliant so funny, I loved these movies as a kid, I know its really bad form to say this but I like these films better than the TV series, ooops!!!!

  • This really is fantastic. :-)

  • I wish that Peter Cushing stil lived

  • My father saw Daleks: Invasion Earth 2150 AD in the cinema when it came out. His opinion of the film is not a topic for polite discussion.

  • @randomdave30 I thought it was the better of the 2 movies.

  • Was the missing footage real? or just made up?

I hear they were making a 3rd movie but they were using dalek mini models aswell as the normal props.

  • Nope. This is a combination of CGI and clips from elsewhere. Very well done too!

  • @badwolf66, i head that aswell. it was aturle (sorry but i can't spell! lol) a spin off of the 2 dalek movies. sadly it was cancled before they could finish it.

  • Amazing!! I certainly didn't know about the trailer of this particular movie.

    I certainly enjoyed watching this.

What a shame that the master print of the film was lost in a fire.

It would have been a great movie!! :D

  • Nicely done!

  • My favorite emperor Dalek :D

How hard was it to render the Mechons?

  • @TheCastellan Not too hard really - they're basically geodesic spheres, with nobs on.

  • Marvellous job.

Nice cameo by Charles Hawtrey (at 1:26).

  • If only it were true.

    Great job, by the way.

  • absolutely beautiful...flawless

  • Any chance this 3rd Peter Cushing film will be reconstructed and be sold in DVDs?

  • i want to see Dracula fight the daleks.

  • Wow, well done, this is fantastic. Breathtaking stuff, it FEELS TOTALLY Authentic. Just as cheesy as the actual movies and a nice update of the Chase.

  • please make it. please, the chase is one of the best doctor who storys ever made! PLEASE!

  • The best thing ever - a movie of The Chase. Brilliantly done.

  • This act was lookin quite sensible. Right up until "and Christopher lee as Dracula". I mean, WTF ROFL

  • A robot Dracula appeared in The Chase, at an amusement park.

  • @harnois75 : True, but since the Amicus films did not follow the series verbatim in this version it could have been a real Dracula.

    Gotta love it.

  • Well, maybe a bit of it was set in the land of fiction...

  • Stunning stuff! I love it.

  • @emtiem Cheers mate :)

  • i think Dracula would beat the crap out of the daleks. lol.

  • i have seen the first two movies but i did not know about this one

  • REALLY REALLY COOL! Very well done, indeed!

  • amazing amazington.

  • That's fantastic. I love it. Well done!

  • Ha ha - brilliant! Jim Dale would have fitted right into the clumsy companion mould. And still sponsored by Sugar Puffs I see - 1:03

  • That's brilliant!

  • very funny

  • With its multiple settings The Chase had great cinematic potential but fell somewhat flat on television - easily the weakest of the sixties Dalek stories..

There was actually a third Doctor Who film. Toho Studios' 1968 epic 'King Kong Escapes' features a character called Dr Who. Seriously!

    .

  • @randomdave30 The King Kong characters 'Dr Who' re-appears in one of Lawrence Miles's Doctor Who novels - Adventuress of Henrietta Street.

  • Not read it or even heard of it. Thank you for letting me iknow.

  • I agree somewhat - The Chase is one of those stories which sounds great on paper but did in principle fall short. I like the Mechanoids though, and the story did give us Steven Taylor (though we lost Ian and Barbara in the process, aw...)

Funny enough I had the idea a while back of doing a fanfic where Pre-Unearthly Child 1st Doctor and Susan encounter 'Doctor Who' and 'Suzie' via a Time Crash style thing. Might try to pick that one up again if I can... :)

  • Indeed, the Chase is one of those stories that belong in TV Comic or TV Century 21. The Mechanoids were boring and of an even more impractical design than the Daleks.

  • As usual, a work of genius sir. Brilliant composition and rotoscoping. It makes me sad that it was never made, but it would never have looked this good anyway!

  • @themindrobber Cheers mate! :)

  • how come it's Mechons rather than mechanoids? (5 stars BTW)

  • <
