  • PURE PLEASURE TO LISTEN !!!

  • I would say that the Four Tops were the crown jewel of the Motown Stable because of their loyalty and devotion to one another.

  • I born in this year 1964

  • This song has one basic fault: It's too short. ;-)

  • man good memories with my cholo uncles cruising in lowriders.... picking up fine ass ruccas

  • Fab song :)

  • These guys consistently spun magic. Amazing!

  • thank god my parents showed me good oldies like these (:

  • Magic. Absolute bloody magic!!!

  • I was 13 when this came out. Loved it then ... and I still get the chills listening to this song.

  • Thank God for the digital age. 1000 years from now people can dig this tune.

  • one of the greatest songs ever made

  • Lovely song with a nice catchy tune.

  • LOVE THIS SONG

  • 16 people know nothing about music

  • masters of motown magic,a pure pleasure.

  • i have some pretty amazing parents I must say. They were born after this hit yet they grew up on it from their parents and I have grown up on 60s and 70s music :)) and I am 17 years old...certaintly a minority in my music taste now :( but i love Motown, oldies, classic rock...everyone should

  • Born in 73 but am very thankful that my parents exposed me to such great music. I've been passing it on to my kids as well.

  • A golden age for soulful music.

  • my name is Levi like the lead singer

  • I love this song, but after watching Little Shop of Horrors again I can imagine the plant singing this lol.

R.I.P Levi Stubbs, what a great voice.

  • I can remember being a child in the 70's my Father use to play this song for me ,my Mother and sisters we lost a great man Dec 4 2011 my father ,and for him a great man I play a great song ,thank you daddy for all your Love.

  • @MrSidneyAllen Thank God for a good Daddy. I din't have one. Great Mother though. Glad you have great memories of yours.

  • blah blah blah this music rules and the music now and days sux blah blah blah and im only (insert an age under 30). That type of comment is getting old. Just say you like this song.... nobody cares how old you are.

  • @ak47skydiver haha true. you're smart go eat some canned fruit

  • my fave song from this era. i play it every day!!!

  • It almost brings tears to my eyes to hear how incredible this is and then think about where today's music is headed and I'm only 28. God, what happened to groups with actual musical talent that weren't just studio garbage?

  • man nothing like that good old motown sound

  • seen the tops 4 times over the years in the uk, the line ups may change, but the music is timeless. roll on march 2012 when they are over here again.

  • LOVE IT!!!

  • Motown had the greatest artists going! Hit after hit! OMG did their music ever speak to our gentle hearts!? Yeah, "deed it did!" Does it still? Yes, you can bet your bottom dollar on that. I cannot imagine NOT having grown up to "Motown" music. The Four Tops right there at the top of the list and Motown had a FINE list - cannot be surpassed and hasn't been to this day. Of course there have been great love songs since, but none any better than the good stuff!! Thank you for this grand post.

  • Guys, why on earth don't they make great music like this any more?? I can't believe some of the tacky crap I hear on the radio nowadays. Levi Stubbs, one of the TRULY greats, RIP. Thanks for posting.

  • Hey tbirdsport302 It is so great that young people like you can appreciate, this song and I hope you keep listening to more classic songs of the 60s.

  • Grea time.......

  • Holland Dozier Holland.......now there is true genius!

  • beutifull song

  • im abt to straight drop a whole paycheck on itunes to get all the oldies that i love

  • i'm 21 and i've always loved this kinda music to me theres nothing better and never will be.

  • Yh seriously complaining about rap music just shows how close minded you are. I love rap and I love this music. There's a time and place for each so don't go moaning about music you don't understand.

  • all you guys complaining about rap music, don't know what hip hop is. They don't play good shit on the radio anymore, you gotta search for that good stuff. Check out shad and blue scholars if you want some good, articulate rap.

  • @JacoBluezz

haha so true. another awesome hip hop band is Sweatshop Union.

  • :D oldies are the shit

    i love it...

grew up to it, even tho io wasnt no where near that time of the year

  • This music is timeless. In a hundred years, people will be still be falling in love and they will play this music to express the emotions for which they have no words. So the Four Tops and other groups will do it for them.

  • AWAY NILZER !

  • saw the 4 tops 3 times but the best was a 4 am show at the candy store in fort lauderdale back in the 70 s this was a hard working group gives puase when we see these no talent divas male and female perform today

  • And to think...we went from this to Rap.

  • @ronetteloverz ...not we...not me

  • @ronetteloverz I love the Ronettes as well, RAP IS CRAP..Levi is immortal!

  • @ronetteloverz Dude, you are SO right! For Rap read Crap! I only hope that the wheel will turn full circle and great, great music like this will be heard again - but I doubt it somehow. Oh well...

  • Thanks for posting this Motown gem.

  • please hold on jo its been 37 years lets make it to 60 and beyond -

  • (@the description) Very well stated, sir. ^_^

  • pure class!!!

  • I wish I had grown up in the sixties!! The music so soulful, and passionate! I really feel like I missed out growing up in a more simpler time and experienced a more beautiful life..filled with hippy-love! ;)

  • if you don't like this song your purely unamerican.....and im 22 years old, i didn't exactly grow up on this kind of stuff but every saturday night when I was a kid one of our local radio stations would play nothing but oldies all night.... takes me back :)

  • @tbirdsport302 Kid believe me , I lived this music and it doesn't get any better than this. Please keep my music alive.

  • @tbirdsport302 f*** how many kids are going to reference their age and the fact that they listen to oldies? Who gives a f***!

  • @ProfessorQurkle the fact that your ass even attempted a shitty comment proves that YOU sir....give a fuck.

  • @tbirdsport302 im 18 years old and i love the oldies i used to listen to this music all the time when i lived in colorado then i moved to california and everyone hates when i play them haha but i dont care =D

  • @tbirdsport302 I did grow up with this music . Ahh yes those friday and saturday nights cruising the strip in the hot cars. What memories : )

  • @tbirdsport302 Just because you don't like a song doesn't make you unamerican. Besides, who wants to be American anyway? Or any nation for that matter. Be yourself, and who you are, and like what you like. Don't let anyone push you around and tell you what to like, or what to do. That's basic comunism pretty much.

  • @tbirdsport302 i'm canadian and i love oldies, fuck ur comment about being unamerican

  • Made it to a million hits! Congratulations to dalkey130388!!! Now how's about it becoming a Christmas Number One for 2011??? What else is new?

  • i was born in the 80s, and this song is so magical that it brings a tear to my eyes. it's one of the best songs of all times. they just don't make them like this anymore.

  • Great song, thanks for sharing, yes, I love it!

  • This video is creeping slowly, but surely towards a million hits on youTube...

dare I suggest that this wonderful, beautiful song could be 'Number One' in the charts this Christmas?

    Why not?

  • my dad plays this song on repeat lol

    nice song tho

  • very well written song splended

  • 1st all-time favourite by THE FOUR TOPS is "Bernadette" this is in my top 5.

  • when black people had true soul....what happned????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my god this so beutiful...they changed them into these animals this is true black music people

  • @StatenIzzy1 Whoaa!! We need to draw a line here. I grew up with 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's music. the genre changed with each landscape. I'm not a fan of auto-tune or rap but this diatribe of my people being animals because commercialistic demands are supplied is ludicrous. This current trend is also played by Victorious, Eminem, Beastie Boys and so forth. My philosophy is if it sounds good to you, listen to it. Some folks actually think AC/DC is the only music. Think about THAT!!!

  • I first heard it when I quit high school. I first heard Dylan's rolling stone when I was riding a bus in New Jersey, 2 am, en route from Maguire AFB to the Sloan House YMCA in Manhattan. Some things you just remember: my Spanish teacher in high school told me that President Kennedy was dead. It was OK because he said it in the most beautiful language in the world.

  • your comments give me hope for this fucked up world

  • your comments give me hope for this fucked up world

  • who the fuck dislikes this SMH..

  • so many memories

  • Why did my generation ruin music ..... I'm 25 ...and I cook breakfast in the morning to this shit .... sliddin through the kitchen ... hell ya.

  • Levi Stubbs had a magical voice!

  • L Stubbs is a treasure

  • Thanks cstbbowerman, Levi Stubbs is dead or not in the group anymore? So sad he has such a beautiful voice. Well, we can always listen to the old records...

  • My son is only 11 years old and he LOVES The Four Tops! Next concert we will be there!

  • @92Mayah There is no levi stubbs anymore it isnt the four tops without levi stubbs

  • God bless their soles.

  • nice song, great music...in listening to music you use your ears and heart to feel the beat not your eyes to see the color of the skin...spare the music world from racism be you white or black or brown or yellow or red....music is music!

  • I'm more of a rock and roll guy but this song blows me away, the chorus is stunning absoloutly STUNNING! Could listen to it forever and never get tired of it, hard to put into words but it gives me a strange feeling that chorus, just an amazing peice of music!

  • Anthem from 4 legends. Mowtown at the very top of its game.

  • They don't make 'em like this anymore, folks! Thank God for the music of the sixties.

  • @roried You got that right!

  • @roried I was born in 1975 and in my opinion, there is no better music than this. The music of the sixties is absolutely wonderful. You can actually understand the lyrics, and there is no talk about fucking bitches, sellind dope, or whatever.

  • Ahhhhhhh music for the soul!!!!

  • Where is the quality like this today??????????????

Just think, this was ONE great tune of hundreds if not thousands on the radio 24/7.

Find anything approaching this now- can't do it.

When Motown faded, so much was lost....

  • @chilitoday I remember when I first heard this song on my favorite AM radio station in 1964. I thought it was the best song I had ever heard. It just made me feel so good inside and makes you think about your lady.

  • No doubt one of the greatest songs in the history of modern music sung by the great lead vocals of Levi Stubbs RIP.

  • This is one of the greatest songs ever written. I'm glad that I was old enough to experience the love and togetherness that the music makers of all races were singing about back in the day.

Thank you Motown and the Four Tops for such a wonderful song.

It warms my heart when I hear it each and every time.

  • Let them that have ear's hear. This song is very Cool. Peace.

  • What a great legacy the team at Motown left, these guys were so together you would have to be without feeling not to get it........keep posting these masterpieces so people new to the music can get a glimpse of what is out there. You don't need to be born in any particular decade to love great music.

  • Love this song, 1 of the reasons is the spirit of the guys and how much they enjoy the song themselves. Today's musicians are all about the $.

  • There have been many covers, but only one Levi Stubbs. According to Smokey Robinson, the most feared house party acapella group anywhere. This is one of the reasons why. Fantastic Four post.

  • <3

  • <3

  • no doubt in my mind the most beautiful song ever made, so much heart and soul. and to all those spouting racist nonsense the fact is we are all a different shade of the same stick, some people have blond hair some have red, some have green eyes others brown some have white skin others black. skin colour doesnt define who you are !

  • If you're ever feeling the worlds against you just play some Motown, relax and take this awesome music into your soul. What an absolute classic.

  • what a great recording. so clean and clear! thanks for posting

  • This song reminds me of my dad dancing at his wifes 65th birthday party. This was the 1st time in my 43 years of living ever seeing him dancing. He passed away this morning at the age of 72 and whenever I hear this song, it will always remind me of him getting his boogie on. Miss you daddy.

  • @cgamonwhit smile for ypur daddy

  • @cgamonwhit smile for your daddy

  • @cgamonwhit

Wow, your comment touched me. Great song to remind you of your dad. Not a day goes by that I don't think of my dad. So sorry for your loss.

  • @biffvonwrinkle I can't apologize enough for my retarded generation. I make breakfast in the kitchen in the morning to this stuff .... not that other crap. You can dance to this shit.... this is MUSIC and I'm 25

  • @KestrelKid1 oh dude same here, i'm 28 and i was raised on this, it seems like you have to go back a decade or 2 to find really good music, where everyone in the group can sing and didn't need no autotune

  • This is just another Anthem Song for those of born in the 50's. This is how we do it.

  • i just love oldies 50s 60 70s today music give you no kind of feeling whatsoever. i call it crap noise.

  • @Sandiforty agree!

  • a bronx tale ;)

  • I love this song. This song reminds me of my last relationship I was in. I miss the guy I was with who's not with me anymore.

  • super!

  • At least with the 60's-80's we had videos with the great music...I think when Nirvana & Sound Garden, STP, etc came along, in teh early 90's, with their interesting lyrics at best, & colorful videos, with depressed, drug-induced band members, that's when it went downhill! Granted, I did get into some of that music, but it did change everything for the worst!
