Its all great and well to say the goverment is killing people and dont respect tamil rights...maybe they do but the LTTE use suiside bombing jst blow up places to get back at them and hurt alot civilians along the way in this "freedom fight". Is blowing up public places to cause fear the best way to win freedom?!

I know there has been alot of civilian casualties in these air raids by the goverment but the LTTE are no better because they actually target places with alot of people to cause fear.

There is more to SLA's resettlement than what meets the eye, SLA's resettlement actually aids the fight against LTTE by temporarily 'manupulating' the minds of tamils in believing that SLA will provide the necessities. This manipulation aids the fight against LTTE by preventing voluntary enrolment in the LTTE. 'Winning the hearts and minds' of the opponents' population is a sneaky yet successful tactic often used in war because ultimately the most lethal weapon in any warfare is the human mind.

This journalist seems to be having a motive to sling mud at the Sri Lankan government forces, for an example, she kept asking all the sensitive questions from the lady in the refugee camp, but wanted to know very little when a man commented about the army giving soft drinks. The government provides from drinking water to schools to hospitals, what has the LTTE given these civilians?

Terrorism is a very difficult game to win and reporting on a such topic you need to be impartial. Knowing the history I know how ruthless these tigers are, and by personally chatting to people in Batticaloa(the east) I know that they are happier than they were during the LTTE rule. Journalists are supposed to be unbiased, to reveal the true story to the world, I hope you will do a better job next time.

I believe she is neutral as she is more concerned on the effects of civilians which is far more related to "How the east was won" rather than what the government does to appeal to tamils in order to persuade them to resettle.

Also the woman in the camp has importantly said that the army asked her to resettle and then she was forced to flee again as tamil boys started being shot by army accusing them of being LTTE after resettling them. This has painted a much real picture of such humaintarian resettlement programs than what the army tries to present here.

now think, how on earth do you think the LTTE is meant to provide school to hospital when there is an economic blockade? who often blocks NGOs from going into LTTE areas to help these people? wasn't it the army? where was the so humanitarian army then? anyway who detroyed schools to hospital in the first place? wasn't it the army?
