@GhostsInMyAttic I so totally agree a masterpiece, i was looking for the right word and you nailed it, played this over and over when I first got the album
When I was in Australia in the 1970s someone overdubbed Crime Of The Century onto a video of whale hunting.Unbelievably powerfull thing to watch and the music fitted perfectly, has anyone got a copy to upload?
Its strange, almost stupid that this wonderful music got less than 200 000 listeners when Justin Bieber and lady gaga got hundreds of millions? What have gone wrong with peoples taste this days?
Supertramp. A bit of a forgotten band (they did write and play some C R A P as the years went on). But they had some genius music. Crime of the Century and Crisis What Crisis were awesome. I remember hearing School for the first time. An OMG moment!!!! Crime of the Century is one of the GREAT GREAT songs
gotta laugh at all the comments....why don't you freaks get out of you mother's basement and appreciate what music is instead of trying to make a political statement. it has nothing to do with George Bush and the dimocraps authorized going to war.....guess you clowns will never get it but you never will..
Well done. Thanks for sharing your work. A film like this, unfortunately, is unlikely to be appreciated by people who can't wrap their minds around how entire nations can be duped long enough and to such a degree as for this to be happening. Further, we each have to rip off our own masks and look at our own greed, our own lies, our own darkness. Otherwise, we'll march right back into where we are now. I hope you continue to work on films of truth and share them with our world. Thank you, truly.
@cj54car Thank you. I only wish I'd been awake to these things when I was younger. Actually, I think I was... but I allowed myself to be lulled to sleep by media, psychiatry, and all of my "peers" under their influence... until I too was "assimilated". It's like Invasion of the Body Snatchers ;-)
I've had the great pleasure of seeing this live many years ago, It will never loose its impact on people .... timeless ! Great video matching, too - especially in these days of new horror and violence ....!
This was a most excellent rendering of Crime of The Century. I shall share it with my friends on Facebook. It may not be a nuclear apocalypse, it very well might be a financial one. But, the players are still the same. They are all working to control all mankind. And money is the best way to control people.
The reason for the current state of the Fukushima nuclear plant is that the government in Japan and the bureaucrat and the big enterprise mislead the public and the policy is promoted. Theme of this tune exactly
Great work Alexander on this wonderful song by Supertramp. I just would like to point out that while your nuclear holocaust is appropriate to the words of this song, a beautiful adaptation of its spirit, the «Crime of the Century» is pollution. The main point of the song is to stop accusing THEM and see what we all are responsible. «Rip out the mask and let's see […] There's you and there's me.». With global warming facing us all, the message is just as powerful today. Thanks.
brilliant video adaptation of a great song, I remember Supertramp clising with this song in Montreal during their release of "fool's overture" and man it was one hell of a way to close a show, this song was so cool live.
I still remember my music teacher in Year 7 playing this song (it was so cool). Talking about repetitive rhythms. Don't remember the teacher's name, but he played in Gallapagos Duck. Dam.... that was thirty years ago
@sfreincle What 'other guys'? Don't you realize that those in charge now are just as sociopathic as any one that could replace them. Power Corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely!
I've had this video in my playlist for some time. I just watched it again minutes ago and must tell you that you're video captures the very essence of the song. Beautifully done!!! Wonderful video! This has to be the best album of all time. I never get tired of listening to it and I do that pretty much daily. Pure musical heaven! I'm only 18, so to all those older fans, trust me, there are a few young people into the real stuff! A small number, but a number nonetheless. Rock on!
I haven’t heard this song in years but I remember well the first time I heard it, must have been shortly after it was released,
My father had some kind of account with a record supplier and they would send each month some LPs (vinyl) this arrived by accident I think, the opening lines still make me shiver 30 odd yrs later,
