Nope. It will want to wipe the drive. What I would recommend is to have another drive (either physical or logistical) to install Win7 onto so you have dual boot options.
once upon a time there were the 1st windowses, den came WIN95 WICH WAS QUIET GOOD but den
Win98 came n it was 1of da best OS ever, now theres many OSs,n they all suck!! the only OS that is liked by every1 is WIN XP!! yep da1 that looks the most like Win98.Vista n da rest r the worst ever. However i think MS knows dat n datsY dey created Win.7. they used 2 say its gon' b the correct version of vista, wich means that its a correct mix of Vista and XP(or w98)
Vista is for newbies and others that don't know any better. Anyone that knows jack shit about computing knows that Vista is a steaming pile of dog shit.
Even Microsoft knows this and is ABANDONING vista. Compare XP's shelf life to Vista's shelf life. That says it all.
Oh sorry. Any sane person would be asking, "why do you have...", not "why do you hate..."
Let's see, why I hate vista; it controls too much for you, dictates processes, broken UAC, 40% cpu usage at idle, no CMSS support, broken SSD interface, disappearing network devices, more system resources than xp for the same applications, DRM nuances, software and hardware incompatibilities, a list that goes on and on and longer than this comment section would allow or I have time for...
UAC isnt annoying. well id ur a huge geek that stuff wouldnt bother you i dont even know what it is. maybe xp is betetr for business, but for gaming and internet and cool features vista is better
Even MS admits the UAC is a failure. As for business, that is the largest consumer group that downgraded back to XP or skipped it altogether.
Better for gaming? You need twice the system for the same frame rates as XP, not to mention network issues. Not to mention the fact that developers aren't making hardly any games at all for DX10, really says it all.
It's a FAILURE and Microsoft is ABANDONING it just like Windows ME.
Well, once you learn how to use a computer (it's more than an email or game machine by the way), come talk to me. I've got more years on a computer than twice the number of years that you've even been alive.
Interesting, but much of what you like about Windows 7 has been available on OS X for, in some cases, years. And OS X is cheaper (and yes, if you are adventurous enough, can be installed on commodity hardware)
I'm in that situation. Mac's do intrigue me, and I'm not at all averse to Mac's, but the move would be difficult and expensive for me right now (4 station LAN, thousands of dollars in Windows software).
I am considering a macbook to play around with, who knows what will happen after that :P
Thanks for the demo. I'm not completely sure, but i think that in the past business versions of windows were sold for multiple install. On top of that they are better for creating networks.
Yep, but the cost for that would be even more than buying 3 independent copies. That's really only cost effective when putting it on dozens or even hundreds of workstations.
Are the security features still massively annoying when executing programs and downloading things (UAC)? The FIRST thing I do when I format and boot up vista is disable half the security crap. I also have issues in Vista with it saying I don't have access to certain folders, yet I'm administrator.. and all I have to do is go in (like 10 screens deep) and give myself access again.
Good demo, though I watched it before the HD version was ready.
Wow, I had no idea about the snipping tool before :]
Thanks for the video

Hi mate can i install windows 7 demo over my xp without having to reinstall all my programs ?

Nope. It will want to wipe the drive. What I would recommend is to have another drive (either physical or logistical) to install Win7 onto so you have dual boot options.
But otherwise, it wants a clean install.

thanks ,i have a spare drive ill do that.

Why do I have Vista? I don't have Vista.

That's great. But I wasn't really comparing this with anything but Windows itself. I don't have Macs or knowledge about them.
malignantpoodle 3 years ago
Oh, I realize that. I would have been like that a year ago too, until I got a Mac.
I have no problems with Windows becoming more like OS X...if only Window 7 was based on BSD Unix.
;)

I didn't have any of those issues like I did with Vista to be sure. By default I was administrator and never had a problem having access to anything.
Some of the security stuff is present like asking permission to run programs, but it can be disabled.

I'm about to get mad. Where is the HD link? Filmed and rendered in 720p, 6mbps bit rate.
malignantpoodle 3 years ago
Don't quote me on this, but I think it takes a while before the HD version is ready to use. Probably in queue to be encoded by youtube.
arcooke 3 years ago
You're right, and I'm glad too. It took almost 3 hours to encode this 9 minutes of video hehe.
