I really appreciate you putting the time and effort into adding this video.
With that said, um.... Will you be making one where it shows you starting? ^^; You kind of bring it in when you've already started and a quarter of the way through.
The blue is an acrylic/ wool blend I got from a local charity shop and I wish I had bought more as it was such a beautiful shade of blue, it was a discontinued colour. The black was 100% acrylic both yarns were Double Knit/ Light Worseted weight.
I am putting together some longer better quality videos but it will be a while before I get time to add them. There are some finished items on ravelry (same name)
It depends on the effect you want. If you want to make the seam a feature put the wrong sides facing each other when joining. I like this for bags, plus I sometimes use a different colour to make the seam stand out even more.
If you want the seam on the back so the front is smooth and less noticable (I like this for blankets) put the right sides together when joining, use a colour that will also blend in with your crochet pieces.

Same method as in video but I used black instead of cream so the seams would blend in.

Do you have a longer video version of this and what the finished product looks like. I am very interested in how this would look when finished.

how did you start joining the granny squares? Did you tie it with a knot initially?

To begin slip stitch to join yarn and weave in the ends later :)

This method can also be used for lace knitted fabrics or to join any holey fabrics.

Are the squares right side together? Thanks.

You just use single crochet (double crochet uk) to join the squares together instead of sewing them. Its very quick and gives an excellent result.

That looks so neat. I want to learn how to crochet, to be able to make potholders and blankets, sweaters, etc.
