i'm in my 20s, and i just finished my first year of medical school. this summer, i've been doing research on patients afflicted with osteosarcoma. i'm not sure what type of cancer she battled with, but my heart goes out to all who grieve her loss. most days, i end up closing the study to cry for the patients that i see go through this. i feel so emotionally-connected to all of them. i may try to do oncology, and spend every waking moment studying the said cancer to help young teens like ashton.

I went to the Memorial Day ceremony at the cemetery yesterday, and it was amazing to see all the flowers and various memorabilia at her grave. I didn't really know her that well, but I'm glad to see that she had so many great friends.
